Amazing Ride
This is my 2nd Escape and I will have a 3rd. It’s been an amazing machine and the ease of using its Features whether it’s the sync Maps voice commands are wonderful the ease of the rear seats to lay flat the awesome gigantic moon roof I could go on and on. Don’t cheat yourself by not test driving a Ford Escape when you go shop for a midsize SUV.

Happy with my Escape
Recently purchased a preowned 2017 Escape SE with the base 1.5L ecoboost 4WD and I am very pleased. I like the interior and appreciate the soft material used for the armrest. Also I think the seats are pretty comfortable and stain resistant. Spilled cup of strawberry soda on passenger seat and it came out easily with a towel and no sign of the spill at all. The one negative listed above that I do agree with is the lack of power provided by the 1.5L engine. But once you get moving it is zippy enough to overtake other cars on the highways. I would recommend this for anyone interested in a compact SUV and suggest the 2.0L ecoboost if you need that punch when the light turns green.

Weird Car
We brought this car, the first day there was a problem, the Motor mounts had to be replaced. After that no problems so far, Great on Fuel, about 400 to a full tank. The car is easy to understand, but power is lacking, it takes it awhile to hit 60. With that exception it is better than our 2018 Ram 1500 overall. It connects good, instruction are great. I wish that it was equipped with more standard items, such as LED lights, Power Hatch, but overall it serves its purpose and the price was not bad.

Don't buy one!
Bought my 2017 Ford Escape brand new with just 17 miles on it. Loved it at first but after having it in the shop multiple times the honeymoon is over. It's a very cheaply made vehicle. From day one I have had issues with the mud guards under the passenger compartment flapping in the wind while you're going down the highway. Took it back 5 different times to have that fixed and all they did was pop it back on but it would just come right back off. Have had to have several expensive repairs that were fortunately covered under the warranty but now the warranty has run out and now at 85k miles the transmission is starting to give me problems. Had hoped to keep it until it was paid off but now I'm going to have to look at trading it in on a new vehicle. Won't be trading it in on another Ford.

Rear suspension problems at 4200 km , I’ll never buy one again

Hurricane on the road
This car will produce a noise from the window and doors due to poor sound proofing and insulation. The noise is above average that it becomes uncomfortable during long drives.

20,000.00 for 4 years worth of paint
It is now 2021 and the paint is coming off all around the windshield… I did not expect this type of problem even at 70,000 miles. I called Ford after seeing another escape of the exact same year and model at the dealership with paint chipping off in the exact same places. I thought surely this must be a defect and Ford would make it right. WRONG… apparently this is the standard of expectation Ford will stand behind. So if you chose to spend your hard earned money on a fFord… be sure to add an additional 1500.00 for a new paint job after 4 years
Fun car to drive
Handles great. Good power and lots of cargo room
Solid vehicle overall. Highly recommended
I wish I had more luxuries like Apple CarPlay and a sunroof but it has great legroom. It can also fit a 70 inch TV in the back which was impressive. I do wish you had better throttle response and a better exhaust system. I would upgrade the airflow brakes and exhaust system in the future. I would also recommend a blackout kit or option. They should have a ST version of this but I haven’t seen anything on the market. It’s basically a land rover discovery but the Ford version.

My CPO Escape needed a new engine a year after i bought it. At 50,000 miles. Leaky coolant was to blame. I will never buy a ford again.

Maybe my last vehicle!
The 2017 Ford ESCAPE has been a wonderful addition for us. Six years and not once has it been to the shop for repair. No issues at all. Parts will wear out, and I will stick with this vehicle till it collapses.

Escape from this vehicle
Everyone who’s reading this and he’s thinking of buying his vehicle do not do reviews a true I went against reviews and spent $11,000 into this vehicle as the brakes failed the transmission failed and axle fails have played my vehicle from now to when I bought it back in February. This car is an expensive to maintain vehicle as I had the titanium model with all wheel drive if you’re buying this vehicle to tow I will not suggested at all I’ve been stuck on the side of the road with them multiple times and when people come to the car they can tell if the car was over beating when they touched the hood it was so hot one technician got burnt from the car it’s ridiculous that they even claimed this this car has a tow package. I would like to reiterate the fact that I spent $11,000 from February to July and only drove 6,000 miles on the car

Lets Escape together!
Very nice small SUV. We have the Titanium which my wife love because of all the safety nannies. The 2.0 turbo 4 is very quick but only returns 25 mpg. I guess I'm spoiled with the 52 mpg I get from my Prius. Ride is good and seats are very comfortable. It's quiet inside too. Plenty of room for us and our Golden Retriever. Been just over a year and we are very pleased with it

Snazzy little SUV
I really enjoy this vehicle. It is the Titanium model so has all the bells and whistles. I got one without the sunroof on purpose. It has great picked up. You step on the gas and it goes! All the power costs in gas mileage though. My Honda CRV would get up to 30MPG out on the road. My little Ford gets 22 but I do like the power when it's needed. I've had it for 4 yeras now and only put gas in it and changed the oil. It's a great car

It seems ok but it's way 2 small, tight seats with the console. . Leg position isn't comfortable , no leg room in back seat . The radio isn't very good . Not much space in trunk area . Really regret the purchase

Last Ford I'll Ever Buy
It took less than a year after buying a used 2017 Ford Escape for it to have engine problems, resulting in an engine and turbo replacement. Then, less than 3 months later, catastrophic transmission failure! I wish I had read reviews before buying. Apparently this model is known for these failures. But Ford didn't bother to recall or replace these faulty major components.

Escape the Escape...not worth your stress
In the five years that I've owned this vehicle I've replaced the brakes twice in the rear and once in the front, I replaced all calipers, all wheel bearings, rims and tires, valve cover, stereo sync unit and components, BCM unit, tensioner, shifter linkage and both serpentine belts. Out of that entire list, only one item was a recall...all components started to fail just outside of the warranty period. Ford uses several plastic components on this vehicle that fail and in my opinion should have never been used. Also a lot of shops, including the dealerships do not keep parts on hand for the best selling SUV in Canada since 2012...everything has to be ordered and takes weeks to arrive. Honestly worst vehicle I've ever owned, all my GM vehicles and components were x10 more reliable than this car is in a whole.

2017 Ford Escape 1.5L
Stay away from this car. I had check engine light come on diagnosed it says cylinder 3 misfire. Changed spark plugs and coil packs. Later in the week check engine light comes back on. I take it back to the same shop they said “no” take it to ford not going to deal with it. I take it to ford. They said cylinder 3.. coolant is leaking inside.. small leak.. needs new engine.. this car is terrible I regret buying it. Who the F*** puts a 1.5L engine in a SUV. Worst engineering. Stay away I’m warning you. If you looking for good car I have a 2016 ford fusion 2.0 L best car I’ve ever owned bought it brand new and every 50K miles I did new spark plugs coil packs, keep up with oil changes no issues. She’s pushing 147K miles.
Never Buying Ford Again
We bought ours used. At 70,000 miles, it suffered from "catastrophic engine failure" on the highway out of nowhere. It broke down while going up a hill and had to pay $300 to get it towed. Had to pay $8,500 to get it fixed, and Ford had the car for 2 months (which is hard when you have a job). Then when I got the car back, it turns out they reinstalled a panel improperly and we had to take it back to Ford the same day. Also when we got the car back, a small crack in the front windshield became 3x bigger after we got the car back and had to pay $500 to fix it because Ford said it "probably cracked after sitting in the hot sun for 2 months and then being washed by them". 2 weeks later, the engine lags when starting and makes whirring sounds. Take it in AGAIN and they say we might have to replace the entire transmission, which will cost thousands more dollars. Get another opinion and they say to bring it in every 2 weeks to check on it. And got the slow start and whirring sound fixed for more money. All of this happened at 70,000 miles in 4 months. There was also a class action lawsuit forming in 2020 because they had crappy Ecoboosts and didn't recall or fix anything really. If this happened to someone without $10,000 in savings for car emergencies, then this could financially break someone, if you can't sell it and still have payments. I am extremely disappointed in Ford not standing behind their product and making this right. Never buying from them again.

2017 SE Ford Escape Ecoboost
Worst Purchase I ever made. I bought this car on January 8, 2020 at Echopark. It is used Car. It only had alittle of 13,000 miles on it. It had problems immediately. The second day I woke up to a flat tire and had the brakes became incredibly hard to push, squealed like crazy and even failed to work when trying to stop at a red light and I slid into intersection. The automatic lift gate will not close without me having to bump it. I called and took the car in. They said air must have gotten in the brake line so they drained brake fluid, put a new tire on it but said they did not know anything about the automatic trunk. Said I was supposed to push it closed. Does anyone else have to do that? Three days ago the brakes are doing the same thing, The windshield wipers drag and now the Ecoboost does not work. It is going back to Echopark Monday. I drove a Hyundai Sante Fe for 12 years without one problem. I felt safe in my Sante Fe clear up til the end 243,000 miles. I do not feel safe in this car at all and after researching and reading all the reviews I am fearful that at 70,000 miles I will need a new car.
Love my Ford Escape
It has seat warmers
Feature-packed for around $30K
Ford really stepped it up over the recent years by providing a ton of high-tech features in affordable vehicles. I love the Sync 3 system, the powered and heated drivers seat, the whole dash layout, the paddle shifters, the ambient lighting, the smooth ride. For the price, you get a ton of items. Resale value is ok. Reliability ok too. I don't keep them more than 3 years before getting a new model...gotta have the new toys...lol.

Ok suv over priced
I have 2017 se for almost 4 years. I have replaced the AC fan 2.5 yrs into having this suv. I also had to have a new engine at 3 yrs. It was in the shop for over 3 months just for the engine replacement. Ended back at dealership do to still not running correctly. I have now had it for 8 months with new engine. And to this day it still has been running correctly. Takes forever to get into the dealership to get it fixed. I am ready for something else.
My Awesome Escape
I purchased my 2017 Escape Titanium in September 2020 I have had no problems with my car so far. Runs great and drives great ,I see no problem with this suv lasting me a long time I highly recommend Escapes
