So I bought this car thanks to multiple good reviews and it having the title of one of the best Ford SUVs ever made. That sounded like awesome and the price in 2021 was very affordable for me. Bought it and was very happy for a year or so but I began to notice a couple of things like the door holding a lot of water and even after cleaning it got clogged very easily so its been a constant maintenance thing. I´ve had to endure a lot of humid smell on my car thanks to that and also it leaked water from the windshield making my roof look like a disgusting car for months until I put some caulk myself. Also for some reason the breaks are noisy all the time no matter what I do, I´ve changed them, cleaned them and the noise is not going away. After the first year my car also began to do horribly bad on fuel consumption. The valve cover got damaged easily by an apprentice of my mechanic when he was placing the new sparkplugs and tighten the coil screws a bit too hard. It kept leaking oil to the spark plugs until I found the replacement cover. After that I changed coils again, new motorcraft oil, air filter, and oil filter, did a whole system cleaning, cleaned the injectors, the manifold, intake and whatever needed or could be cleaned I ordered to be cleaned. Still my Escape XLT is doing around 15mpg sometimes the best I can get by driving like an old gramps is 18mpg which is just awful right now with how expensive fuel is: The only thing I haven´t replaced is the fuel pump which is inexpensive but I have already spent thousands over thousands to maintain and fix the fuel consumption issue so I hate to spend another penny on this trash. I plan to change that hoping it will get at least a bit better and as soon as I can I´m going to sell it and get a CR-V 2013. I´ve already tested a couple and not only they have way better gas mileage even if they have more miles on the odometer than my Escape. But also they look very nice inside and out and the motor is extremely silent. For clarification my Escape barely has 106K Miles on it as I work from home and only use it on weekends. However I don´t want to keep on using it as the fuel gets consumed at a ridiculous pace and trust me I don´t like to drive fast so it´s not about me abusing the accelerator. I´ve read that this is something normal of aging Escapes, the fuel consumption is going to be a pain in the head forever and changing the fuel filter is going to cost you a fortune because the geniuses in Ford decided to hide it inside the gas tank even though its common knowledge that you´re going to need to change it at some point in the cars life, but because of all the mess, you´ll not only pay a fortune for a simple filter change but also you´re not going to find a mechanic that will do that much work.

I've had my Ford Escape XLT, leather seats, all the bells & whistles, for about 4 years now. I still enjoy the car, it still looks great (doesn't look "dated") and has held its value pretty well.

Really nothing I don't like about my 2012 Escape. I may even consider another one when I'm ready to buy a new vehicle. I'll just need to check out my options, because I would like to have the backup camera and I don't know if the new ones are equipped. It's the perfect size for me to run around town in or a short get away.

I have always loved and bought Ford vehicles. They are reliable, comfortable, safe and stylish and affordable. I have grandchildren and great grandchildren and we always feel safe and comfortable. I love my SUV. It's been five years since I bought my 2012 Ford Escape Limited and I have loved every minute that I drive it. I haven't had to put any money in it except for oil changes etc.. I think the 2012 was the best year yet. I had a 2003 Ford Escape LS and loved it. That's why I bought another one from Hilbish Ford in Concord. I gave the 2003 one to my daughter and she is still driving it and loves it too.

I am a twenty something single woman and wanted a small SUV without that "mom car" look and something small enough to not feel like I'm driving a bus. The Fors Escape was perfect! I have the limited version which was a little more expensive but I don't regret getting it at all! The black/charcoal/grey interior is beautiful and I get so many compliments. The ride is fairly smooth and I get pretty good gas mileage- about 22 mpg city, 24 hwy which is better than expected considering I have the V6 engine. I feel very secure in the car and definitely feel if I'm in an accident- I will have the advantage. It's an all around great car and worth the price!
