i love my escape
Had problems
I leased my 2004 Escape LTD in Feb. 2004. Two years later, at 20,000 miles, the car had a "complete failure of the transmission" (the dealership's words). The whole transmission had to be replaced. I have also had problems with the sun roof not opening correctly. Also, sometimes when I start the car the treble on the radio comes on but not the bass, and I have to restart the car to get the radio to work correctly. Plus, in cold weather the driver window squeaks horribly when you roll it up/down. I owned a 2001 Escape for three years and loved it so much I went back for the 2004 LTD. The problems I've had with it, especially with the transmission, have soured me to Fords.

Live in my car
The pick-up is great in a go situation- It handles great, is perfect for my type of job--Im in it 5 days a week, in and out-stop and go-I practically live in my Escape 45 hrs a week.
love it!!!
this vehicle is fun to drive. it has good pickup speed when accelerating onto a highway. i love the ease of entering and exiting this vehicle. it drives more like a pleasure car than a suv.
Escape Limited is great
I have a 2004 Escape Limited FWD with Luxury Comfort Package(heated seats and mirrors, upgraded audio and reverse sensors) and Moonroof. This car is a blast to drive. When you floor it from a stop the tires squeal - it's got plenty of power! Of course my driving style may be part of why the FE is not as good as I might like: I'm getting just under 20MPG. I love the exterior looks and styling. I also drove the CRV, Santa Fe and Liberty and found none could compare to this combination of luxury and fun to drive.
