This car is VERY comfortable, and rides well. So far, with 25,000+ miles we have had no reliability issues to report, expecting for a minor factory recall on the rear-view camera, which was handled by our dealer in less than a day. Seats are well made and very easy on the back. The 4-cylinder engine is powerful enough for city use, but struggles a bit when passing or merging at highway speeds. Fit and finish are only fair. Several trim pieces don't match-up well, and gap width consistency on doors and hood/tailgate is marginal. However, a friend who just purchased a 2022 version has far better fit/finish on his vehicle, so this may have been a temporary assembly problem. Biggest complaint is engine noise. Outside when idling, it sounds like my dad's 1959 Massy Ferguson tractor. Very agricultural exhaust tones, and a bit embarrassing when compared to 4-cylinder similar models from Honda and others. Inside, engine noise is 'above average', especially at lower speeds, and there is a definite vibration present at idle. Seems to behave well at higher speeds, but work could be done to improve powertrain NVH. Great gas mileage though. Another issue is that there is no ability to manually 'downshift' the vehicle when going down hills. That is a real head-scratcher, as it could cause some serious issues when hauling a trailer. Apparently the V-6 version has manual downshift capabilities. This car holds a LOT of cargo. With the back seat down, there is plenty of room for almost anything, and this is where it shines. Access is easy. Overall, I would recommend, but just be aware of some of the quirks.

Not as nice as the previous model

We traded our CX-5 for this. I regret it every time I have to drive the Edge. We had the previous model Edge with a V6 engine as a rental for a while back when and we loved (almost) every aspect of it. Fast forward to 2020, test drove it, liked the handling and the speed and the room. We took it home and almost 1.5 years later and only 8500 miles, I absolutely HATE this thing. Trying to stay constant at 30-35mp/h WITHOUT any jerking is absolutely impossible. The good: The Edge has a ton of room and a really nice big trunk. That is about it, nothing else makes much sense or is in any way an improvement to the previous model or even on par with competitors. The materials used on the inside are crap. As mentioned above, our Edge only has 8500 miles on it and it squeaks and rattles almost everywhere. It sucks gas like a V8, but doesn't have the power to show for it. The infotainment system works, really slow, but it usually works. If you have 2 phones paired to the car, it doesn't automatically switch if you're out of range of the primary phone and you will get constant pop-up messages, reminding you to pair your phone. A couple of times, the infotainment system stayed black until the car was shut off and turned on again, I was unable to change the station or volume. For a car with a price tag near $40k, I would expect a lot more attention to detail, but I guess Ford doesn't care about that anymore, cheap is king. This is our first and absolutely the last Ford we've ever owned. We will be going back to Mazda.

We bought the SEL and it is well equipped . It has all the technology you need and plenty of power too. We traded a 2013 Edge SE so we appreciate the upgrades. Quiet, smooth and comfortable.

I have been looking at getting an Edge ST for about a year. I found the one I wanted at Akin Ford Winder. I love this vehicle. All the modern conveniences and a great car to drive that has tons of power. It is a lot of fun to drive.
