Almost perfect
The only drawback to giving it all 5 stars across the board are the tires. These Hankook 19" P245 55 R19 flat out suck (F-). I have the optional 3.5 V6 engine and while not as thrifty as the Ecoboost, I live in a very hilly area and need pulling power.

Update: 3 Years In...
Updated review, 3 years later - I'll add commentary around the original review and add more thoughts at the end. I traded in a 2015 Mercedes GLA 4Matic due to its small size and difficulty getting in and out (Also? hearing rumblings about a restructure in the high-tech company I where I worked at the time). My partner and I are each 6'1" (250+ lbs) and the MB just felt cramped after a while. If we had to take someone with us? Oh forget it. The back seat had almost no space. It wasn't a problem when I bought it, but over time, I got tired of making excuses for the thing. Final straw was a trip we made over a couple dates. Not terrible, but after a week in the car with all of our stuff, we just got tired of playing Tetris to get everything to fit. The Ford Edge was a revelation. Great space, not huge, but big enough. Easy to get in and out of, no excuses taking passengers in back. The only issue I have is with the Sync 3 system. The owner.ford.com site says you can update the software to the latest version and has a downloadable update. Well, I've been trying for a week, and it still hasn't "taken." Also, the USB keeps showing it's updating the software, but will just pop up a message that the USB was removed and needs to be plugged back in. Hadn't taken it out, but after removing and reinserting, I still get the same issue. I've got Ford on it, but it's a frustration. Overall though, the car is great. The 2015 update was what made me look at the car, but Sync 3 with Apple CarPlay is what ultimately made me leap. Okay, the 2020 update: Got Apple CarPlay finally installed at the dealership. It turned out I needed another USB hub, so between that and labor, it cost $150. Definitely worth it. The vehicle has been fine and seems to be holding up well to Minnesota winters, my occasional negligence, and being parked outside mostly. The gas mileage has never gotten near the 25 on the hwy it's supposed to. I drive a good 5-10 mph over the speed limit, so I guess I get it, but I was spoiled with the GLA getting 31 mpg on the hwy driving the same way. Same with the Jetta Sportwagen I had before it. The certified pre-owned program is fantastic though, so buying used is the absolute best way to do. The interior seems to be holding up well. An occasional rattle that typically is some item rolling around under the seat usually is the culprit. Overall a good vehicle. I'd buy it again if I had to, though it would be great to have the panoramic sunroof. I'm curious what kind of mileage the 3.5 gets since the 2.0 can't get 25 on the hwy. Otherwise, no complaints.

Peppy, fun to drive, and highly reliable
Have owned this car for 3 years and only have about 22,000 miles on it. Mostly around town but a couple of enjoyable 1,000 mile trips. We couldn't be happier and we both love the car better than all the other cars we have owned including 2 - 5 series BMW's (all purchased new). We live in Florida so the cooling thru the seats is excellent. For a 4,300 lb. car, the acceleration and handling is excellent (different engine and suspension from the non-sport versions) Going around a corner fast produces no lean. The gas mileage is as advertised. If I travel 65 or under, I actually get about 26 MPG. At 75 it goes down to 23 MPG. I purchased the 21" wheels and they look awesome. Initially, I was not happy to have the Pirelli Scorpion tires (265/40R21) but they handle OK and do not squeal going around corners fast. In the whole time I have owned this vehicle, I have only had 2 issues: the first is the battery went out at 34 months I always carry a jump starter so I was able to start the car and get it to the dealer - new battery and out the door in less than one hour. The second issue was that the auto latch rear lift would sometimes not latch but would hang up (drain the battery dry). They replaced the latch and out the door again. I did purchase the Ford extended premium service contract so I am covered for three more years. No surprises if major problems occur. Reading some of the poor reviews I have read, I wonder why the difference between those cars and mine which is more reliable and fun to drive than those BMW's I mentioned and a Mercedes sedan I owned. I have owned 15 cars in my lifetime and never had a disaster on any of them but this one is the BEST. We will be going on a 8,000 mile trip at the end of the summer. Looking forward to it.

Love my new Edge
It definitely fits the needs of my new and growing family. Lots of storage and safety features, and it looks really cool too! Handles great and has a little pep when I need it. We would have probably got a lower trim level if they came with the safety package, but the titanium has lots of fun stuff, though I would have preferred to spend less. I have a friend who had an Edge and got hit by a dump truck on the side of their young son (not kidding), totalling the car, and everyone was fine. Another friend has one and loves everything but wants better gas mileage. I'm fine with it since it can tow way more than the competition that gets better gas mileage. Fair trade off for me and way better mileage than I was getting on my last vehicle. The tow package with additional cooling and safety features is great. I think my only complaint is the sunroof lowers the ceiling a little too much on the sides where the rails are and my hair can touch (I'm 6'2"). Definitely more headroom without it. The visibility around the A and C/D pillars could be better but that's probably just part of the aerodynamics of the design and hasn't been an issue. I would like the rearview mirror to be higher as it blocks my view a bit (again I'm tall), the escape didn't have that issue, but I'm getting used to it. It definitely has a more grown up feel to it compared to the escape, which is what we were also considering. It was very tough deciding between the Escape and Edge, but the tons of extra room and the bigger size to fair better in a possible accident better made it worth the extra money. After 4500 miles I'm still very pleased with my decision to purchase. I can't really comment on reliability or repair costs yet, but so far so good!

This car gives me a headache, literally
I have never had this issue with a car before. I loved my last Edge and my other vehicle is a Ford F150 which I love. The 2016 Ford Edge Titanium has a vibration to it that sounds like buffeting from having the rear windows open. If I ride in this car for more than 30 minutes I get a nasty headache. This is the worst car I ever owned. Finally had to get rid of this car, I figured out after taking test drives in other Edge models that it was the moon roof that caused the issue. I am staying away from the Edge. I ended up dumping it at a major loss. I guess I was the only one with the issue. The new car is fine.
