Do not buy a Ford Edge! I purchased a brand new 2016 titanium. I have had really used cars with less trouble and maintenance cost. First thing- The battery went out quickly. I replaced it. The next thing- TSB, cracked flex plate. Who knew this was a thing, besides Ford? If you are out of warranty they don't want to fix it even though they know it is a manufacturing issue. It can cost 6-10k to fix depending on how much damage was done. Luckily- I was in warranty. However, it didn't stop the dealership from giving me the run around. They still charged a $150 diagnostics fee even though the quick lube guy said exactly what it was and he wasn't going to touch the car until it went to the service department. It took six weeks to fix. My car has been out of the shop for the flex plate issue for approximately six weeks. I now have 64k miles on it. The did not put the skid plate back on correctly, missing and mismatched bolts. That is hanging loose. On top of that, I now have a rubbing, bumping something when I reverse. I am waiting for the dealership to come back with the issue, the fix and the prices. Overall, this is a really horrible car under the hood. It looks good. The technology is nice. However, unless you are a Ford mechanic don't do it.

Mountain Biker's Delight

2016 Ford Edge SE 4dr SUV (2.0L 4cyl Turbo 6A)

Can put seats down and toss the bike and the dog in the back. No wheel removing or need to have a tow. Have almost 53k on it and not one maintenance concern other than a dead battery which is fairly typical in AZ. I like this car so much and it feels so safe to me that I am thinking of getting another. Only negative is my lease negotiation was probably not the best and now the residual is too high for me to purchase. It exceeds the value of the car.

I brought the sel model with a 6 cylinder engine....makes all the difference in the world ...well worth the additional cost. The dealer had sun roof installed, works great, looks factory installed. totally pleased with this vehicle...color combination makes a difference....love it!!!!!!

Have owned this car for 3 years and only have about 22,000 miles on it. Mostly around town but a couple of enjoyable 1,000 mile trips. We couldn't be happier and we both love the car better than all the other cars we have owned including 2 - 5 series BMW's (all purchased new). We live in Florida so the cooling thru the seats is excellent. For a 4,300 lb. car, the acceleration and handling is excellent (different engine and suspension from the non-sport versions) Going around a corner fast produces no lean. The gas mileage is as advertised. If I travel 65 or under, I actually get about 26 MPG. At 75 it goes down to 23 MPG. I purchased the 21" wheels and they look awesome. Initially, I was not happy to have the Pirelli Scorpion tires (265/40R21) but they handle OK and do not squeal going around corners fast. In the whole time I have owned this vehicle, I have only had 2 issues: the first is the battery went out at 34 months I always carry a jump starter so I was able to start the car and get it to the dealer - new battery and out the door in less than one hour. The second issue was that the auto latch rear lift would sometimes not latch but would hang up (drain the battery dry). They replaced the latch and out the door again. I did purchase the Ford extended premium service contract so I am covered for three more years. No surprises if major problems occur. Reading some of the poor reviews I have read, I wonder why the difference between those cars and mine which is more reliable and fun to drive than those BMW's I mentioned and a Mercedes sedan I owned. I have owned 15 cars in my lifetime and never had a disaster on any of them but this one is the BEST. We will be going on a 8,000 mile trip at the end of the summer. Looking forward to it.
