2006 4x4 QC, SB, Hemi DR
After 3000 miles this truck already proven itself more refined than my previous 2003 similarly equipped Ram. The interior noise levels are greatly reduced, the ride is 90% improved (feels "nervous" over small amplitude, high frequency inputs) over the previous chassis (2002-2005). The premium audio system has been worth the money and the new look, both inside and out, has won me over. One improvement often not mentioned are the new cloth seats. They are firmer, made of better material, and can be optioned with adjustable lumbar.
I love this truck!
I traded in an '06 Hummer H3 on this truck. I love the ride, solid feel and the looks. Everyone comments on the Mega Cab design. My friends call it the "limo truck".

Poor fuel mileage
The best truck I ever owned as far as comfort. Fuel mileage is another subject, I don't know how everyone else that has rated the truck says the mileage is so great, I get 10 mpg! The truck has 2000 miles. The dealer said it has to break in more, but I can't imagine it improving to 15 mpg like I was told. I'm not the type to put the pedal to the metal. I'm afraid to tow anything with unless I take out a loan.
Disapointed
I purchased the SLT quad cab 4x4 sport. Great looking big red truck but the steering wheel started to shimmy at highway speeds at 300 miles. Dealer tried to correct and only made the problem worse. Truck was also unstable with a 4500lb boat in tow over expansion joints at highway speeds. I lost trust in the vehicle after one week of owner ship and sold it back to the dealer with 600 miles on it. My worst buying/owning experience ever.
Very nice truck if you can feed it
Have enjoyed the truck. Solid truck and I'm very satisfied with the exception of fuel mileage around town. Not bad on the road. Much better than my '04 hemi though.
Great Truck
It has a great ride, good performance and sharp looks. Mine has the optional sunroof, MOPAR exhaust system, chrome tubular running boards, spray-in bedliner, and chrome bug shield.
Pure fun with the kids
More power than you should have with the kids in the back seat. Every time I would punch it the kids would just laugh! Having a hard time keeping the wife out of it. A wolf in sheep's clothing. Pure fun!
Fun to drive
I love my SRT10 Ram. It is fast and very responsive although the fuel ecomoney stinks. When clean it looks awesome and always fetches many compliments
Update
This Truck is absolutely perfect in every way. No problems at all and has become quite peppy now that it's broken in. I'm averaging 17 mpg's around town and I got 21.6 on a short 500 mile trip. I only use Chevron fuel and Mobil 1 Synthetic Oil. I am extremely pleased with this new Dodge Ram. I can honestly say that this is the best Ram I've owned, ever! My only negative is that the Quad cab Ram is smaller then the Tundra double cab. Need the Mega Cab to get more cab space then Tundra. The Quad cab Ram is bigger in overall size but smaller in cab space.
My first new truck in 16 years
I have had the truck for just over a month now and I love it. I drive 40 miles each way to work and am getting about 17 miles to the gallon. Better than I expected! The 4.7 has more than enough power for my use and the interior provides all the room I need to get my family around. Dodge could make a locking tailgate standard. I had to go and by one to prevent it from being stolen. All in all I love the look and ride it provides. Hope to keep it for 10 years or 250,000 miles.
Kick some SVT Behinds
Albeit the fact that I have made nearly $20,000 in mods to my trucks, I look forward everyday to driving it. love the sound, the looks I get. When I "matte" it at 35mph she gets sideways... can you say yeee haw!! But what do you expect with a truck with around 700hp. It has all the sound of True Viper! Yes, the mileage is bad on it, but I went into buying it knowing that it got terrible mileage. If you want an eco car get a Yugo! If you have the need for power and speed get a Ram SRT-10!
Wanted Some Performance and Utility
I purchased my SRT-10 Quad Cab after much research. I could not have made a better choice for what I was looking for. I wanted high performance and my wife wanted luxury and safety. We found it in our 2006 Ram SRT-10 Quad Cab. This truck is the best handling, best stopping and head turning vehicle that I have ever owned. I am seriously considering another one in regular cab. No complaints about the mileage either. I have a 95 3/4 ton ext. cab with the cast iron V-10 and the gas mileage is about the same as the SRT- 10. I am actually impressed with the mileage. I only drive the SRT maybe once or twice a month even though I really want to drive it daily. My hat's off to the SRT engineers. Awesome
Bad factory warranty
Love the truck, except the transmission shifts rough. There is a buzzing noise and vibration the dealer cant seem to find. And I don't have the money to keep renting trucks while thay try to figure it out. So if you buy a Dodge they don't cover rental when your truck breaks. That's why my next truck will not be a Dodge. Because looks ain't everything when you drive for a living and have to buy a new truck every year.
I'm happy with truck overall
I've been very pleased with my truck overall. I love the Hemi and the other features I've listed below. Nice large, heavy, safe vehicle. I put on a Rhino liner and nerf bars and that has added to the truck's usefullness and value. I wish that the drivetrain losses were less. I think Dodge could have done better with leg room in the backseat of the Quad Cab. It seems to be tight for taller adults though is ok for kids and average or short adults. Had the injector for cylinder #7 go bad after 10k miles but it was fixed under warranty. The Hemi is outshined now by Toyota's V8 but that doesn't bother me. Overall fantastic vehicle and I highly recommend.
2nd V-10 4Me
Driving this truck is awesome. From the initial start up to hitting the highway, this truck is a blast. Need passing power? This truck does real well straight from the factory. Handling is precise and stable. Braking that is like nothing else I've driven. Comfort that goes beyond a perforamnce truck's expectations. The ride is a little tough over bumps and other typical road conditions but it's well worth the trade off when you want to use the truck as it should be used, Hard and Fast. With the Viper V-10 under the hood, I have a great platform to build on.
Awesome truck with weak brakes
I have to say I love my truck. To me it drives better then most cars. I love the traction lock rear end. The Hemi is great. The only complaints I have is that I tow a trailer every day and the brakes do not work as good as I think they should. They need bigger brakes. Then there is the Computer. I was wanting to hop up my Hemi but it seems that Dodge has the computer locked so you can not do any real high performance upgrades. I was wanting to add a supercharger or turbo but It seems no one can upgrade the fuel curves in the computer. The ford truck guys have their Ford mostly because of this reason.
Dodge Power Wagon
What a pleasure to climb behind the wheel of a well designed truck. I'm 6'2" 230 lb. I have to run the seat forward to reach pedals and controls, room to spare in a regular cab. I pull a Tandem axel large box trailer. The tow haul 5speed auto works like a dream in tow haul mode. Their is 2 2nd gears so technically this is a 6 speed. Full box frame on a half ton. Independant front suspension with 4x4. Drives and handles nice. 20 inch wheels and wide goodyear rubber. Bites well on dry pavement. Will smoke tires with little effort. Be carefull on wet pavement. MDS Hemi is sweet, can't feel it change. 20 mpg at 65 mph. I waited on the MDS in the truck, glad I did. Not one problem yet, 16 months. All in all they got it right. Thanks Dodge. I have owned 3 New Dodge, 2 New Chevys, 1 New Ford if that tells you anything.
3rd Ram truck in 6 years
I have had a 2002, 2004 & now the 2006 Ram 1500 which I have been driving for 1 year. I had no problems with the first two but the 2006 from the moment off the lot with under 10 miles on it the wheel shakes bad at all different speeds not just over 60 miles. It has been in the shop a dozen times and they have replaced the front struts, several wheel alinments & balance the tires. Still have the problem and it's been a year. Now the front shocks make a terrible sound when driving on even payment but they have order new ones under warranty. I really enjoyed the 2004 but this one is a lemon and I'm switching to GM in two years when te lease is up.

"I love my Dodge Ram", period.
My first truck, I've wanted this model since they hit the road back in 06, The V6 ST 3.7 ltr. I got is my dream , I bout it for 5 grand with 75,000 miles, mind you I did have to put a New front- end in it and new tires and fresh fluid changes but now, definitely plan on getting 300 thousand miles or more, Great job Dodge, I love it.

06 ram 1500
Have had this truck for 4 years and when I bought it mileage was around 120 thousand and I’m at 215 thousand now and has never left me stranded. The only issues I’ve had or only things I’ve had to replace was upper and lower ball joints and a water pump. My only complaint with the truck is on the 5.7 hemi they use a giant o ring that sits in a cut out on the water pump housing whitch seems like it would be a weak seal but the last one got 215 thousand out of it so really can’t complain. Has been a great truck
dont buy a dodge
purchased the truck for a family/ recreation vehicle. After 1 engine rebuild and 2 transmission. And many other electrical problems(brake lights sticking on). Gas mileage was horrible. I averaged 11-13 in town or highway didn't matter. Had the 5.7 hemi and was not impressed.
i'll never but a ram again
The worse truck experience-- I have ever had. From day one this truck shimmied its way down the highway. within the first year I replaced, the rotors & brakes (at my cost), and within 2 years I had the brakes and rototrs turned again-- year three it need a brake job again. After 12 k miles like domino's, balljoints, tie rods, alignments, wheel bearings... The dealer actually acused me of driving on dirt roads & panick breaking. (Ram tough but no dirt roads?) I cant help I lived on a dirt road but it shook worse on the highway and on the dirt roads I drove slow. The 60k miles the transmission started to slip,What a piece of junk this truck is, I traded it in this week for a toyota- sad
Truck lovin
This has turned out to be not only a beautiful truck, but a very dependable one. It's fun to drive, great towing ability and it looks so tough
First time Buyer
I really like the design of this truck. Its easy to get in and out of. Interior is very durable and comfortable. Very smooth over bumps and potholes. Great storage place under the rear seat, and the cup holders are great too.
Great Truck!
I bought the base ST with the "work truck" package (a $400 credit for a black grille instead of chrome). I like the truck overall, but I don't like the huge center console and rock hard middle seat. On a regular cab pickup, you need that middle seat! In this truck the center seating position is almost unusable as there is nowhere for the middle person to put their feet.
Dodge needs better shocks upfront
The Dodge truck is definitely the most agressive looking truck out there today. The only thing I think they could have done better was putting a little better shock and spring set up on the truck. I put Bilstein aftermarket shocks on recently and it has gotten a lot better. Next is a lttle tougher spring. What was Dodge thinking? This isn`t a Cadillac, it`s a truck.
