A sporty gem
I recently purchased a 2003 Neon SXT. I found this car to be value-packed and priced better than many of the imports. It feels like a more substantial car than the Nissan Sentra and Mazda Protege' and costs thousands less (with available 2K rebate) than the 2003 Toyota Corolla (still a very dull car, particularly the interior) and Honda Civic.
SO FAR SO GOOD !
This is my first NEON , not my first chrysler product. I bought it for the price ( I work for D/C ) employee discount and all that . so far so good . it has 9500 mi only a loose door check I fixed it myself witha 10mm socket. it is getting about 34 mpg now , it has gotten better it was 31 when i first checked .

Fun & Cheap
The car cost me $11,500 about $6 grand LESS than a Honda Civic! OK it doesn't hold it's value like a Honda...picky, picky. So far the car has been great, but the last review scared me(electrical short at 50K miles). Dodge has a nasty habit of not taking care of customer problems after warranty over and not fixing them on a timely basis. I say this because I also own a 98 Neon Sport(150HP engine). The early Neons (first 3 model years especially) had engine head gasket oil leaks due to imperfection in metal, not the gasket. Too many customers had to pay $600 to over $1000 to get it fixed. Dodge needs to fix design flaws at no charge or it's going to lose customers like me.
2003 Dodge Neon SXT
A great overall car! I got mine at a great price because a friend works for Chrysler. Looks great, runs great, feels awesome! I get about 250 miles per tank, which is mostly city miles. I've had it since Sept. 2003, and so no problems whatsoever! The only thing I would EVER change is a bigger engine, but then it would kill the fuel economy, and bump up the already cheap price-tag.
Why would Dodge get rid of em?!
Had this car for a very short time but it's amazing on gas, has a sporty look with just a little kick to it! I previously owned an 01 Sebring and I loved it but it fell apart and I had to get rid of it. If your looking for a small fuel efficient car with sporty looks and handles like a Luxury car than the Dodge neon is just for you!
