It's been a great suv!
I'm getting into the mid 70's for millage and running great! No problems with the exception of the Bluetooth phone connection that will not connect automatically. Been out west a few times and it was comfortable, stable on the highway, very good gas mileage and the space inside is great. The engine is smooth and powerful enough to pull a 22' boat nicely. I would buy another one but Dodge let a pretty good vehicle go to the wayside! It would have just needed a few Tweeks to make it a top tier suv.

Great suv for the money
Was, able to buy the journey new in 17 for around 16k and after 3 years have had no problems at all. I actually like the high revving 4 cylinder and find the power adequate. Would like to have a back up camera though as backward visibility is limited.

Not Again
Bought it new and within 1000 miles the front-end began to make clunking noises over any kind of imperfection, from small bumps to the lip on your driveway. Headlights "blink" occasionally driving at night. Took it to the Dodge dealer, who said they checked it all out and it was fine. Dumb-founded, I took the mechanic for a ride and he said, yes, he noticed the continual clunking in the front-end,but that this is normal for a Journey. Mentioned the headlight issue and his response was that "if that were happening, it would have logged a code" ( as if I am making it up). Now I see why the dealer tried to hard sell me an extended warranty on their NEW CAR. I am kind of stuck with this rig, so I hope it lives for the life of the loan. But my gut tells me that once the 12 month, 12k warranty is up, all hell will break loose.

Rental Review
I have been driving this car as a rental for over a month. The cabin is quiet and the seats are comfortable. This does not make up for the terrible acceleration, poor gas mileage and sluggish transmission that does not shift smoothly between gears. The brake and gas pedals are up pretty high (and I have big feet), so the angle of the right foot is pretty steep which has caused pain in my right ankle. It is very awkward and uncomfortable. The radio stations do not tune well to stations, so I have to plug my phone in. This means I cannot talk on the phone at all. I would not buy this car and I can't wait to turn it in and get my car back.
