2004 Dodge Intrepid 3.5 LTR EXT
68,000 miles had to replace the crankshaft position sensor, 3 cam sensors, 3 batteries. Car would die and not restart. Would wait for awhile and then it would start. Found that the coupling where the positive battery cable met up at the jumper post above the air intake filter box had become corroded. This was causing the battery and cables to overheat. Flickering lights and total shutdown of the engine ensued. Cleaned the corrosion and replaced battery cable. Car runs like new.
8 Years with Dodge Intrepid
I have driven Dodge Intrepids for the last 8 years and find my 2004 to be the most powerful. Dodge Intrepid has always been a great handling sedan, but the new sxt seem to handle even better. The only complaint I have is the goodyear tires on the older models. The sxt came with goodyear eagles and they have helped to improve the handling. I'm a big person and there is plenty of room for five people. Over-all a fine famly sedan with a good chunk of sport sedan thrown in.
great and fun car
Easy to handle and doesn't feel like a big car. Very surprised how well it handled in the snow this past week.
So Far So Good
This is my first Dodge... So far so good! This gar handles great! Awesome power too!!! All my previous cars were 5/6 Speed Manuals ( i needed a car that was able to move fast) This is also my first automatic 4dr professional like car... This car i would overall rate a 9.9 I had to put only a 7 on build quality and design being that the car broke down with a major / potentionaly deadly mechanical defect with under 100miles. My stearing locked while turning at about 30mph on a busy street. It was due to a factory misinstalled clock spring in the steering column.
Great so far
This is my 3rd Dodge. So far I'm not disappointed. It rides great, handles great, and has plenty of power when you need it. You wouldn't think it's as large as it is. I've had it less then a week, so reliability remains to be seen. But if this Intrepid holds up as well as my '98 Avenger and '89 Daytona did, I won't regret this vehicle purchase for a minute.
