Great Usage
I have had my Durango for 4 years and it has not given me any problems. I find that the space is great for transporting my big family, and has not complaints.
Riding high!
I bought my 07 SLT 4.7 Flex with 130k miles two months ago and so far I am THRILLED. I shopped around, was patient and thorough, and found a great deal. For a 12 year old full size suv it has held up incredibly well. I have 18" off road tires on the truck that make it look like a beast. It sits up high which is perfect for me being 6'4. Headroom and legroom have always been a concern of mine with any vehicle and this rig has ample amounts of both (for the driver anyway). The rumors about the cramped legroom on the second row are true, HOWEVER, I find that the remedy is simple with front driver and passenger seats moved slightly forward...there is enough legroom for everyone. There are some small pieces of the interior that show its age, mostly just faded or slightly cracked plastic on the seatbelt and bottom of drivers seat, but barely noticeable. This SUV is powerful and floats down the road. The chrome on the door molding is beginning to fade, and I have done some very minor paint repairs but overall the exterior paint (silver) is nice and shiny with no oxidation or peeling. I am surprised by the compliments I get on such an "old" vehicle. The gas mileage depends heavily on the operator among other factors. I drive it "easy" and never really gun it or try to impress anyone ;) ...As a result I have seen the mpg go as high as 22 on the interstate and 16 in the city....but at the end of the day I didnt buy it because of the gas mileage. The ONLY complaint I have is related to the "gascap" light that comes on. I have found alot of other owners online who had the same problem with no clear answer on how to fix it. Look it up online for a full explanation. I look forward to driving it every day and for years to come!

Great used car value
The low resale value of these cars can be a real advantage when buying used and planning to keep it for a long time. I have had my Durango Adventurer edition now for about a month and in that time I've put on about 2000 miles. The ride is smooth and quiet. The 4wd system worked well for driving on the beach to go fishing. I haven't had it long enough to know reliability but with most modern cars if you keep them up it should last 150k miles ++ Overall, especially for the price paid I am very happy with this vehicle. ******** They wanted me to update the review. I've had the Durango now for just over 2 years and I've put on about 35,000 miles. I haven't had any issues with it and I've only had to do oil changes, spark plugs, and tires. The paint is still shiny and it doesn't have a spec of rust anywhere. The interior also is still in very good condition with the exception of the hard plastic that covers the seat belt ends. Overall I'm still satisfied with my purchase considering the condition of the car and the price paid. ******* Another update. I now have 70k miles on it of which I have put on 50k. The interior and exterior still look good and it is our go to vehicle for road trips. I have had zero problems with it other than a recall on the takata airbags.

Old to New - No Regrets
I traded in my old 2000 Durango that made it to 300,000 miles with minor problems, for a used 2007 Durango SLT 4WD with the 5.7L Hemi. I have owned it for six months and it has impressed me very much. Aside from the hereditary gas mileage trait, this car has been a great family commuter. It has a lot of space inside with great storage capacity and a surprisingly spacious third row. Though the second row seems to be a bit compromised in terms of legroom, there has been no other flaws in the car. It has a great towing capacity which has helped with our boats and some offroading problems with my friends and has done it without struggle.
Everything a V8 SUV should be...
Let me start off with the obvious: Fuel Economy. I gave it a 9. Not because it is superb in fuel consumption compared to the average car on the road, but because it handedly beats everything in it's class. The MDS which turns off 4 of the 8 cyclingder while cruising along really does save alot of $$. The 5.7L V8 is powerful 345 hp and efficient 24 MPG highway 14 City and 18 mixed driving. That's darn good for this sort of vehicle in my opinion. It seats 7 comfortably and the long wheelbase is very comfortable at highway and around town speeds. Service costs are avg.
Larger SUV for expanding family.
We recently traded in our Jeep Liberty Renegade for a 2008 Durango SLT with the newly redone 4.7L V8. We couldn't be happier with our decision. The 3.7L in the Jeep was a gas hog (maybe due to my heavy foot) even on long 55mph drives the best MPG I could get were 18. What it lacked in efficiency it didn't make up with space. That is there the Durango rules. Plenty of power from the 303hp V8 on hand for passing slo-pokes. Haven't put the 330lbs of tor que to use yet, but look forward to pulling with it soon.
Great to pull my Travel Trailer
I was a bit worried since my 28' travel trailer weighs 6,000 but the Durango 4.7 V8 pulls it like a champ! Better than my 2001 Toyota Tundra did and it handles great. I average 16 mpg around town and 18 on the interstate. Good vision, comfortable on long trips, fun to drive.
Beautiful Vehicle
I almost had my mind made up to buy a GMC Acadia until I test drove the Durango, no comparison. The Durango won hands down. Nice and roomy. I just love the way it rides and handles. It is a beautiful vehicle inside and out. I picked out the Limited with the Hemi and could not be more pleased. It looks sporty with all the chrome trim but looks and rides like a luxury car. It has everything you could possible want in a vehicle. It's loaded. Oh those leather seats with the suede middle, I just love them. They don't get hot like solid leather seats and so comfortable. It's also a very quite ride.
My Maroon Beast.
What can I say but, this vehicle can do it all.Probably the best vehicle I have ever owned. This HEMI will blow by any stock equipped truck out there.I live in hilly Western Pennsylvania and can tow anything from my Six-Pack Charger to my Chris-Craft Cruiser. The all 4WD plows through the worst snow we have and climbs any muddy trail I put it through. There is so much room that a family of 7 can enjoy a long trip. With the seats down I can load 4x8 sheets of drywall or plywood or move any youngster to college. The power leather heated seats feel like you are on a cloud. This vehicle is such a head turner with the maroon paint and 20 inch chrome wheels.
Update!
My Durango just hit 74000 miles today with no problems out of it. It is the best car we have ever owned. We just put running boards and new tires on it. The salesman who sold us the Durango was there trying to get us to trade it for a new 2011 Durango. Our Durango appraised very well but I don't really like the 2011 Durango. I have no complaints against my Durango, it has the best a/c I've ever used. I will be keeping my Durango until it gives up!
Lovemydurango
I have owned Durangos for 20 years and a Dodge for 10 before that. I have only had 1 that was a lemon and the warranty on that one took care of its issues until I traded in on my first Durango. Although I was more impressed with the 2000 Durango that the 2007, I loved them both. I believe the advantage to the 2000 was it wasn't so high off the ground and of course as I age, climbing up into a vehicle gets harder. Also my interior package on my 2000 was so much more comfortable. I had the leather seats and it was a lot quieter ride. But I can say that I have been truly happy with them both. Love the 8 cyl, although as I am shopping not for new ones, see more of the 6 cyl...not sure I am going to be as happy with the 6 cyl. Love the get up and go on the 8. Overall, can't say enough good about them...

Most fun and comfortable SUV
This is the best vehicle for your money. Reliable, fun, and exciting. Great for trips and I get about 20 miles to the gallon in my Hemi limited. Awesome to sum it up. Has all the options I will ever need.
New technology fun drive
This was a trade up from the old style Durango for me. The ride is much smoother and it has a lot more room. Driving the hybrid takes a little getting used to but that seems to be some of the fun driving experience.
Better than the rest
I bought my Duango to do one thing to tow, and boy can it tow. I have a 25 foot boat, and a toy trailer. It pulls them all. After having this baby I don't see a reason why you would buy a Chevy or a Toyota. They got nothing on this.
I wanted to like the Durango...
As the title says, I wanted to like the Durango. It truly saddens me to see what has happened to the American auto manufactures and I will always buy from the big three, but this Durango was the bottom of the barrel. First let me say that I have owned several fullsize SUV's and trucks: 2000 Ford Expedition, '02 Chevy Tahoe, '04 Chevy Avalanche, '05 Dodge Ram 1500, and now this '07 Durango. This truck drives and rides like a horse drawn wagon. It is hands down the worst handling vehicle I have EVER driven. I think I would rather drive a Mack truck on a daily basis. Then gas mileage...oh man, each of my previous trucks got significantly better mileage. Overall, a huge disappointment
Great Power! Sad to see the Big SUV go!
I have owned my 09 Durango for two years. I drive allot, about 30K a year. Love the hemi power, I towed my 30 ft camper a couple times but did not like the "swaying". It has all of the power you need to tow 6K-8K lbs. I think the wheel base being short makes the swaying of the trailer a bit worse. If you want a big SUV for allot less than the Tahoe this is it and it will tow more than the Tahoe. The resale values have really tanked since my purchase. I think the used ones are a great deal right now. Get the hemi!
Classy workhorse
I love my Durango... It has all the bells and whistles you could ask for. It's stylish and classy, but still pulls a horse trailer as well as a pickup. I haul golf clubs and horse food in the back... And it does have plenty of room back there! I had the smaller Durango which I also loved. But this one is much more versatile! I do wish the gas mileage was better. But I'm not willing to give up the power and comfort to go to something smaller!
LOVE our 2007 Durango!!
Purchased 4 years ago from a friend who had updated with high performance additions, fun to drive. Previous vehicle was Suburban, mpg and higher mtnce/tire costs expected on full size SUV. No mechanical issues; Dodge replaced gas cap due to recall. Towing power was more than adequate when pulling fullsize Uhaul trailer. Have to trade - either a bent valve stem or rod issue at 114,000 miles - even tho we used high octane (91) gas the last two years and synthetic oil - as far as we know. To be safe, use 93 octane and only synthetic oil. Never use ethanol even with flex fuel engine. Would buy it again! Tend to drive vehicles into ground - over 200k; will miss doing so with this vehicle.
Good SUV
I've had my Durango for about six months now. Its a comfortable machine with good power. I know Edmunds rates it bad, but I didn't want a crossover as I need to tow a 5K boat. It rides fairly well. Gas mileage is a couple miles less then the bigger Tahoe though, but I got this way cheaper then a comparable tahoe.
Avoid at allcosts
I love the look and feel of the Durango. Unfortunately, like its predecessor models, the new Durango is laden with all sorts of electrical issues. It contains a slew of "modules". Once these start to fail, you have a lemon on your hands. And once it's out of warranty, forget getting help from the dealership. They don't want to honor their own warranty and the parent company turns a deaf ear to customers, claiming they cannot control dealers.
Best SUV ever owned.
3 years ago I went to the dealer and I was looking for a Black Dodge Durango SLT, Hemi of course, until the salesman told me that they only had a Durango Night Runner on transit to the dealer and I obviously said YES!. Owning this truck for 3 years has been a great experience with a perfect and powerful engine with great performance, great interior, and nice black chrome wheels. It's got about 37,000 miles and I've never ever had any problems. All I can say is that IT'S THE PERFECT CHOICE.

Worst SUV ever!
We've owned this Durango for 3 years and we have had more issues that all our other vehicles combined! dash board lights come on constantly, the dealer can't find anything! steering wheel is too loose, cheap plastic interior pieces falling, I will NEVER buy a DODGE vehicle again!
Great large SUV for the money
Did a lot of research before purchase. Durango was more bang for the buck than Tahoe, Armada, Toyota. Hemi is great, good mileage for a large SUV plus plenty of power. Towed trailer to Wyoming no problem. Beware, FlexFuel is a crock. In the owners manual it states up to 30% reduction in MPG with FlexFuel! Also, do not mix Flexfuel with gas unless all most empty. FlexFuel is media hype. Nice ride, a little tight on rear seat leg room. Dash latout nice and easy to read. 6 Disc CD/Radio takes some getting use to, not eacy to understand without manual.
Jury is still out
Jury is still out on our 07' Durango purchase. Wife has complained about poor gas mileage, lack of power, windshield cracking for no apparent reason and steering column falling apart. We still have the wifes old '98 Durango that has 220,000 miles on it. It has the 5.9 liter engine where the 07' has the 4.7 liter. That could be the reason for power complaint. The 98' has had minimal repairs done to it (ball joints and some suspension repairs. However we do live in the mountains of Colorado on some rough roads.) So hopefully this 07' does as well as the 98'
Good Truck
I have had this truck for a few months now, and have little complaints. The common complaint here is fuel consumption. It is a truck with a V8, what did you expect? Some people just need the power and room, and that will cost you in fuel costs. If you are looking for 30 MPG, get a VW. Space is great and there are a load of great features. The all time 4WD drive is great for my wife. All the safety, and I don't have to worry about her screwing up the transfer case by shifting wrong. My suggestion is to buy it used. The depreciation for a new Durango is ridiculous, like $10,000 the first year. You can get a $40,000 truck for half the price if you go one year old.
2007 Durango SXT V-6
I've owned my Durango almost 1 year now and have 15,600 miles on it. Pros: Comfortable, roomy and the kids love the DVD and 3rd row options. Can seat 5 adults and 2 kids comfortably. Cons: Poor fuel economy...even with the V-6 engine. Spending about $80 every 5 days...and I work from home! Poor acceleration with the 6 cyl. Resale is horrible. I tried trading it in this week on a more economical vehicle and it is only bringing $10,000 on trade (original MSRP $27,000). Will never buy another one. Also, sounds like the transmission is already starting to slip and there is a rattle in the back somewhere. My '01 Tahoe (V-8) was far superior in fuel economy, quality and performance.
AWESOME IN EVERYTHING!
Bought my 2007 Dodge Durango nearly 6 yrs ago. Milage now hitting 49000! No problems change oil, tire's. Great vehicle!
Chauffeur by choice
We just had our first child & needed something with more room than my mustang. Even though there were many choices out there (and we test drove them all) the durango slt had the power (v8), room (3rd row seating), cargo space (when the 3rd row is down), looks (husky - in a good way)& comfort we were looking for. Long trips I used to take with my wife (b-4 the baby came) in the convertible mustang seemed really long. Now that we have the durango, I hate to say it - I like taking long drives (375+ miles). Don't get me wrong, I'm keeping the mustang - but if it's a family trip I want the durango. From Las Vegas to San Francisco to lake havasu we found a great car. Family chauffeur by choice.
Power, Luxury, Looks and Handling
I test drove the Limited model with intentions of buying a cheaper model. After the test drive I was hooked! Leather interior, Hemi power, mygig w/rear tv for the kids, are all features I decided we had to have. Laminated glass really makes it quiet inside. And the hemi power and the 18" wheels make it a awesome performance ride. The fuel saver mode on Highway really saves on the gas too. Rear camera and park assist, along with the power tailgate and sunroof were extras that I wouldn't have picked but are really nice to have. I test drove everything in its class and this vehicle wins hands down! I look for reasons to take it out for a spin, its that fun to drive!
Super ++++
We have had this Durango for a few months and absolutely love it. We needed to tow about 6500lbs to it was a great choice.
It's a hoss
Good value for the money. Pulls my camper and hauls two adults and five kids with two dogs with no trouble.

Excellent Value
Our Durango SLT has been absolutely flawless. When the salesman pulled it up for us to see we instantly hated it. We would NEVER own a white car. We however got an excellent price on it. We did not know when we bought it how commited it was. It just hit 65000 miles on the odometer and still looks new! The Engine has always started first try and it has never failed us. The 4.7 has been a pleasure to drive, it's very fuel efficient and is very powerful. It will haul 7 People with ease. It runs real quite until you step on it then you get a powerful growl. We have had absolutely no issues with it. We expect great things from Chrysler and will continue to buy from them.
Great family vehicle
First and foremost, I admit that the Durango is not easy on gas. Other than the gas problem, I really like this vehicle. As a mom of two young boys, I love having a sexy mommy wagon. I have a 2007, with leather interior, mp3 multi disc player. It's a lovely maroon color with silver details. It has a roomy third row seat and plenty of storage. It handles great and has a very powerful v8 engine. It's fun to drive and it's very stylish. The only other problem area is that sometimes the gas cap doesn't make a good seal which makes the service engine light come on temporarily. Hopefully, I can stop by my dealership and have that problem taken care of.
Perfect for me
I have the 5.7 Hemi I choose it for the only engine with MDS. I am getting good MPG for such a large truck and engine but I drive 90% highway. That's wht it's perfect for me. Just hit the cruise control and sit back and enjoy the great ride and sound system. Carries 6x6ft+ in complete comfort and ample leg room, can squeeze in 2 more little people with no problem. Great performance, surprisingly quick.
SWEET!!!
I accompanied my mom to the local dodge dealer to help her pick out her van and saw a Durango staring back at me! Needless to say I'm now the proud owner of SUV on 'Roids! It's easy to drive, handles like a dream, and looks awesome. I love the 3rd row seats - my 13 year old who is 5'7" fits comfortably and the ability to lay all back seats flat. My Durango in my opinion gets great gas mileage (17 mpg in town)... which is way better than my old Hyundai Santa Fe! I also have the flex fuel option, however the engine tends to sag a bit but the savings are appreciated! I love this car and have recommended it to everyone that asks!!!
Tow Anything (almost)
I have loved my Durango with it 5.7 Hemi. Yeah mpg is not great but what do you expect? 15-16 to and from work and 19-20 on the Hi-way. I towed a 29' 7000 lb trailer out west with ease. (I got the optional 3.92 axle). I have used it to haul everything from 6 kids to lumber to bags of mulch. I didn't get the fancy interior because this SUV gets put to use. 57,000 miles and no problems. (brakes @ 41,000) I would definitely look at another one when it is time.
Wind buffeting
We noticed that when the rear windows are open at speeds over 35 mph, the vehicle steering column, doors vibrate & shake. Called the dealership & was told it's a design flaw, can't fix, and that at highways speed the passenger compartment fills with turbulent air causing a "parachute" like response which lifts the rear of the vehicle making it unstable to drive at highway speeds. The only fix available is to keep the windows closed. Are you kidding me? At the price we paid I should be able to open any window I like and still have a safe vehicle to drive. Piece of junk. Also, pop's out of reverse every 10th drive or so. Nice.
Worst cheap suv
This is the worst SUV ever I hate it, their ain't no room in the back it a 07 limited with 40,000 miles on it the car keep having transmission probs power back door ain't working right sometimes it just open while I'm driving! I thought this would be a nice SUV but it cheap plasticy loud and embarrassing to be seen in it keep getting scratched but my complex won't do anything bout it
Best SUV ever owned.
I've owned my Dodge Durango Night Runner for three years already, it has 37,000 miles and I'm still impressed. The best part about this truck is the HEMI engine, great power, great performance and of course great fuel mileage for a V8. I've never experienced any mechanical problems or any kind of problems, the only times it visits the dealer is for service and that's it. It's very comfortable for those long trips and it's built tough.
Would buy again
We have had the other body style durango, & several Dodge trucks & enjoy this one. We bought the Durango about a month ago and I have put 3000 miles on it already and have not made my first payment. Fun to drive, good road view, nice sounding V8. We come from mustangs, trucks and a Dodge Mini Van. The Durango has as much room as a van but needs more oomph out of the hole and it got that in 08. We saved a ton of cash on this buying it with 20k miles on it. Also has synthetics in rear & front diffs. from factory. I will run full synthetic in the motor soon as well. I drive a lot and wanted something safe for my family and myself. Our kids love it over our mini van since they can see out better.
Dodge Durango Limited
Drove 4000 miles to Florida and back to home. Comfort and drivability was great. GPS system was excellent. Carried luggage with room to spare for 2 month stay which included golf clubs and coolers. Service at Scotia Motors has been excellent. This is 3rd new dodge vehicle that we have purchased from this dealership.
So far so good
We just got this big guy and so far really like it. We went from an escape up to this. The interior is great. Comfortable, roomy, user friendly. I love the look of the exterior. We don't have the Hemi, but have great get up and go. The gas mileage could be better, but what can you expect with such a big truck. Smooth ride, very quiet, fits all of us, from short to tall! Hopefully we don't have the same issues the others are having. I never owned anything other than a Ford, great deal for the money!
Great Truck
I ordered my Durango from the dealer. I got the Adventurer with the 5.7 and the tow package and 3.73 rear. I get 17.5 on the highway. I love the power, drop the hammer, and it'll smoke any truck. The split third row is great, and heated leather seats are a must. My only complaint is the rack and pinoin steering, with the AWD, when it hits a bump, the wheel tends to jerk to the right. The windshield is also too far forward, making the passenger side A-pillar a major blind spot when driving around a sharp left turn. I also ordered the 4WD transfer case. Havent had much snow in south Jersey yet, but it handles great in mud and the snow we've had.

And I Ravel with my family for about 1000 kms it was very comfortable very strong and for my self while drive it was very trusted suv .
2008 Durango - Great Truck
What a great vehicle. This truck drives and handles like a luxury car and is quiet. Almost 19 MPG on the HWY isn't too bad either. Not sure why I don't see these advertised. Gives me plenty of room to travel with a family of 4 and large dog.
Loving It
Great SUV, Hemi MDS works great, avg. around 17 mpg highway driving with cruise set at 55. Had an 2001 Durango SLT, traded it for 2006 Jeep Liberty, was not happy with Jeep, kept it 2 years. With 0% for 72 months and 2000.00 rebate, could not pass up the Durango. Driving Jeep made me miss the ride of a larger SUV.
