Used 2005 Dodge Durango Consumer Reviews
I love my Durango
This is my 2nd Durango. For some reason, this one far outperforms my previous one. It is comfortable, reliable, quiet, fast. Even the mpg is not too bad - 16-18 city. There is not one thing I dislike about this vehicle except that I did not order steering wheel radio controls. Best vehicle I have owned.
Improvement
The 2005 Durango is much improved. I owned a fully loaded 1999 Durango and I was very disatisfied with all aspects of the vehicle--If I didn't purchase the extended warranty, I would have spent over $7000 in repairs. Apparently Dodge recognized the earlier Durango's design/performance/reliabilty problems and successfully redesigned the Durango to meet customer satisfaction. The 2005 Durango, with HEMI, is a steal. The ride, comfort, performance, and handeling are unmatched for the price.

Awesome ride
I leased an 05 Durango SLT and this vehicle surpassed all my expectations. I used to drive a 2000 Cherokee, so this was a big jump in size and payment, or so I thought. The ride is exceptionally smooth and does not handle as big as it looks. In fact, I think it's easier to maneuver than my Cherokee. Fuel economy isn't the best, but which SUV's is? And with employee pricing, Im only paying $100 more a month with nothing out of my pocket. Definitely give it a look. Only dislikes are the 4.7 seems to take a while to get going, so I wish I got the Hemi. Other than that I think its a great value. Was comparing it to a 4runner and I think it beats it hands down.
The best car I've ever owned.
I recently traded in my '02 Dodge Durango SLT Plus with 70,000 miles for an '05 Limited AWD w/HEMI. WOW. I didn't think there would be such a difference between the two vehicles. The only downside is the gas mileage, but, the 5.7L HEMI is getting almost 1 mpg more than the 4.7L that was in my '02. It seems, strange as it may sound, that the truck is getting used to my driving style. When I first got it, it didn't respond to my pressure on the gas pedal as well as I thought it should. But now, all accelleration is as perfect as it could be, i.e. accellerating onto highway ramps, from a stop light, etc. The Limited has every option, minus the navigation system. I'll get an add-on later
Happy Dodge Owner
I have generally owned Fords. After the normal ups and downs of life, I decided to reward myself with a new vehicle. I had been researching for a year and half, looking at Explorers and Escapes, etc. I decided to take a visit to look at Dodge trucks since I have always liked the way they looked. I probably wouldn't have given the Durango a thought, but I really liked the redesigned look over the earlier versions. It is fun to drive and it gives me the leg room that I need. I settled for the standard model, because I prefered the color they had in stock! My only wish is that I had purchased the SLT with the 3rd row seat, running boards, steel rims, and moon roof! Otherwise, it is a joy!
