2024 Dodge Charger Coupe Trims Comparison

Trim level differences

The 2024 Dodge Charger is a five-passenger electric coupe with a rear hatch. It is available in two trim levels, R/T and Scat Pack. Both have two electric motors, one powering each axle, for all-wheel drive. In the R/T, the motors combine to produce 456 horsepower and 404 lb-ft of torque; in the Scat Pack, those figures get cranked up to 630 horsepower and 627 lb-ft. A function Dodge calls PowerShot temporarily increases both models' output by 40 horsepower, to 496 hp and 670 hp, respectively. Drag mode in the Scat Pack also provides 670 hp.

R/T
With a base price significantly higher than its gas-powered predecessor's, the entry-level Charger packs a lot more features. Standard equipment includes:

  • 18-inch wheels
  • LED headlights and foglights
  • Rain-sensing windshield wipers
  • Keyless entry and start
  • Cloth seats trimmed with synthetic leather
  • Power-adjustable driver's seat
  • Fold-flat rear seats
  • Dual-zone automatic climate control
  • 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster
  • 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen with voice control
  • Navigation
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Amazon Alexa
  • Nine speakers

Standard safety tech on the Charger includes:

  • Forward collision warning with automatic braking (warns you of an impending collision and applies the brakes in certain scenarios)
  • Lane keeping assistance (steers the Charger back into its lane if it begins to drift over the lane marker)
  • Blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic warning (alerts you if a vehicle is in your blind spot during a lane change or while in reverse)
  • Adaptive cruise control (adjusts speed to maintain a constant distance between the vehicle and the car in front)
  • Front, rear and side parking sensors (alert you to obstacles that may not be visible around the vehicle when parking)

Beyond just more power, the Scat Pack adds:

  • Sport suspension tuning
  • 20-inch wheels
  • Brembo front and rear brakes
  • Additional driving modes including Drag/Track, Launch Control and Drift/Donut
  • 16-inch digital instrument panel

Beyond exterior and interior colors, few stand-alone options are offered for the Charger. Most equipment is bundled into major option packages.

  • Exclusive to the R/T, the Blacktop package adds:
    • Black 20-inch wheels
    • Dark exterior badging
  • A Plus Group is available for both the R/T and the Scat Pack and includes:
    • 20-inch wheels (R/T only)
    • Finished front trunk (frunk)
    • Upgraded LED headlights
    • Power liftgate
    • Synthetic leather seats (R/T)

    • Power-adjustable passenger seat
    • Power tilt-and-telescoping steering column
    • Heated and ventilated front seats
    • Heated rear seats
    • Ambient interior lighting

    • 16-inch digital instrument cluster (R/T)
    • Wireless phone charging
    • 360-degree camera system (gives you a top-down view of the Charger and its surroundings in tight parking situations)
  • The Sun & Sound package, also offered on both the R/T and the Scat Pack, adds:
    • Panoramic glass roof
    • 18-speaker Alpine audio system
  • Exclusive to the Scat Pack, the Carbon & Suede package includes:

Which Charger trim does Edmunds recommend?

You've got to be confident to pilot an electric muscle car, so we'd backstop that confidence with the high-output Charger Scat Pack. In addition to the horsepower increase, the Scat Pack gets a more aggressive suspension tune, Brembo brakes, and a bunch of extra functions such as launch control and Drift/Donut modes to make the most of its power. If the Scat Pack's pricing premium is too steep, rest assured that sans performance gear, equipment levels between it and the base R/T are pretty much the same.
