Used 2019 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Minivan Consumer Reviews
Pacifica Hybrid needs towing capability & AWD
I have owned two Chrysler Town & County LTD AWD vans. They have probably never gotten better than 23 MPG. My current one has 125,000 miles on it, and can supposedly tow "3,500" lbs. I don't use that towing often, but I like to have it. I am looking to replace it with the Pacifica Hybrid. But I see this lack: supposedly, it cannot tow. "Why not?" is unclear: the engineers could have designed it to have its gasoline engine run the front wheels, and its electric motors run the rear wheels. This would make it AWD without a connecting driveshaft, and it could allow towing the 3,500 lbs via the gasoline engine alone (if, for some arcane reason, electric motors cannot be included in towing.) So, as much as I really want the higher MPG of a hybrid, the all-gasoline vehicle may be preferable, annoying as is its much-lower MPG in the low-20s. ........................ Another minivan grumble: why are there never any cargo tie-downs within the vehicle? These vans ARE used to transport bulky cargo, and having it slide around inside, unsecured, is annoying.
I Use More Gas in my Garden Tractor
I have a level 2 charger, and besides charging, use it to pre warm the car during the winter. I typically go 4 months at a time without the engine starting. (fuel refresh) During the summer on 55mph highways, I get 50 miles on electric. Can't wait for the 100% electric version of this vehicle. I love everything about it.

Good minivan, terrible plug-in hybrid
The minivan is very comfortable, and I like the features that mine came with standard (adaptive cruise control, cabin noise cancellation really makes a difference (we had a standard 2017 Pacifica before without it and it was noticeably louder). My biggest "beef" with this car is the Hybrid Powertrain. I purchased this with the expectation that I'd be able to drive on electric for most around-town errands. But this hasn't happened at all. As it turns out, even when charged to 100%, the engine will turn on almost every time you turn the car on. You almost never actually drive only on electric, and this is really frustrating. Almost daily I need to run a short errand, only a few miles, and as soon as I start the car "Vroom" - the engine starts up almost every time, right at the beginning. I don't think Chrysler Engineers realized that if customers paid extra for a plug-in hybrid, we wanted it to actually operate as a plug-in hybrid - you know, allow us to drive on electric when the battery is at 100%. In the end, I only get about 25.4 mpg, which is a disappointment. (The Toyota Sienna does better and it's not even a plug in) So is it a good van? Yes, definitely. Is it a good plug-in Hybrid? No, not really.
