A gold car and the price of gold!!
I bought a 96 LHS from the original owner, it sold new for $32,400. I paid only $500. which was a steal. It was always kept in a garage, so it looked almost like new both inside and outside. The problem was, it had 197,000 miles on it. Then the oil leaks started and I put over $2,000 to make it go away. I love this car, it's beautiful and drives wonderful! I want it to be my last car, so I now have approximately $14,000 invested in my new (old) car that's now 25 years old. A new one like this one would sell for around $50,000!

1996 LHS
Owned since it had 16 miles on the odometer. Except for some unfortunate wind noise in the front seats at highway speeds the ride is EXCELLENT!! Problems with cooling system components since about 1 year old. Two water pumps, one radiator, on thermostat, one set of belts in 90,000 is not bad however. The rest of car has functioned flawlessly.
Stay away from this car!!!
Overall terrible car...transmission went out twice..once at 47,000 and then again at 83,000. Compressor went out three times! Also, rack and pinion out at 92,000 and a constant leaking of various locations. Yes, the ride is good and the sound system is good but not much of a consulation in hot weather when you are broken down with tranny problems or a broken compressor. Chrysler dealerships are way over priced for the most part (except most Florida dealers) in Georgia.
Big Car, Big Features, Big Bills!
Bought the car with 62000 miles on it. I now have 131000 and counting. Had an oxygen sensor replaced, the moon roof leaks and a lot of problems with the suspension and tires. I don't like the climate control feature. I also had to replace a sensor under the dashboard to get the A/C to work correctly. Overall, a great car for long trips. Comfortable ride and plenty of room. I have the CD and cassette and everything on the dashboard is easy to reach. Enough room to where my kids won't fight. I would buy another because of the room and great ride.
Nice when newer, BUT...
Like anything else on wheels, problems start cropping up when the years add on...Bought mine used at just under 130K...At that time, everything worked, except the air conditioner, which the lack of, really has an overall effect on a full-time automatic climate system...Heat will come on in the middle of a hot summer day, and will take it's grandiose time to do its job come the winter...With these cars, servicing/replacing the A/C is a MUST, and that can get expensive...That done (expensive job), everything was fine until about the 176K mark, then it was just one thing after another, (stabilizer, cv's, brake lines, rotors)...Then the engine had some major issues, and it was time to junk it...
