Used 2006 Chrysler Crossfire Consumer Reviews
Crossfire is little known gem
I just got a 2005 Limited Coupe after searching car dealers for 6 months for the "right car". I looked at BMW 3 Series Coupe, Mini Cooper S Conv, Caddy CTS, Corvette, G35 Coupe, 350Z and Boxster. With the rebates, the Crossfire had the right mix of price, comfort, sporty (always wanted a 2 seater), insurance cost, gas mileage, power and off course, handling. It gets almost as many looks and questions as my PT Cruiser did when it was new. The car rides great, my wife and I actually slept in the passenger's side during our trip to Florida when we switched off driving. The crisp handling saved our life by avoiding a vehicle that cut in front of us on interstate road construction.
Great little sports car that held up over the year
I bought this car a couple of years back because I remember them when they were brand new, DaimlerChrysler first car based off the older R170 platform better known as the SLK320. One of the best V-6 that Mercedes built along with the drivetrain front to back, most of these cars can be had for around $6000 or more for a good solid car- just make sure the former owner did the maintenance as scheduled by Benz or you can expect to spend some money getting caught up doing so. Steering is crisp and précised and with the light weight around 3100 pounds it makes enough power to make you smile. This car is a Sports car that is a touring car if it's the roadster, the coupe is more of Drive it like you stolen it and both will curve up curves like no tomorrow! are they easy to keep running the answer is YES it's a Mercedes- do the maintenance and reaching 300k and beyond is not out of question. is there an plastic rattle- NO I think I have hear once in the dead of winter behind the seat, outside of that these care are head turners and surprising to drive, my only dislike is Premium gas it needs but you can run lower on a pinch, 90 or higher and a easy foot you should see about 30+MPG on the highway if I ever stay on the highway and not the curvy roads in Northern kentucky and SW Ohio :-) ride is good after shocks were replaced and handling is good.

Watch out
I love my CrossFire, but it has been in the shop four times now for the transmission. It pops out of first gear. Not all the time, about every 100-200 miles it will just pop out. Everytime I take it in, the dealership try's to tinker with something else. IT would be easier to just replace the transmission. Now im' told "Star" has no more sugestions since there unable to duplicate the problem. So I paid $39k for a car that pops out of gear. All I can do now is take legal action for Chrysler to fix/replace/buy back the car. If you have a choice, buy the automatic. I know it's not as much fun. I plan on buying an automatic once this gets resolved.
Great Car - But WAY Single Focus
If you're married, over 40, have arthritis, have kids, or ever buy anything at a mall - you should probably just forget this car. I am actually quite shocked how sharp and unforgiving a blade this car is for a CHRYSLER product!!! Expansion joints in my neighbourhood cause the CD to skip. Getting into the car is best left to 18 year olds whose joints are still made out of rubber bands. All that being said, this car actually generates more envy and loathing and stares than my 1987 Lemonengelb (lemon yellow) Porsche 944S did. I love it beyond measure!!!
Sweeeet Ride
Awesome car from a first impression standpoint, as well as from a quality ride. Great modern appointments on the interior, reasonable trunk space (under hatchback) and my Limited Edition even comes with luggage! Daimler really set the bar high for this collaboration. A real pleaser - through and through.
