Change?
Not so fast. In comparison to my '14 Ford Focus 4-dr with 28 to 43 mpg, as a city commuter it's not worth it. I enjoy my sunroof, heated power seats and drive-ability.

Shocking
The volt was nice but price was shocking compared to other cars with great fuel mileage but aren't hybrids. The difference doesn't seem to me to be a value. Prices need to be better if they expect to get people to get green. 21 grand is a lot for a 4 year old used car. Couple grand more you have a new civic or corolla with 42 miles to the gallon. And a warranty.

Really smooth propulsion
Just bought a 2017 Chevy Volt LT (it is Sept 2020). I already love it. I have read of other owner experiences with a few known bugs that end up being covered under warranty, and feel ready to not freak out when/if they happen. Lots of info on the Reddit thread for volt owners. The propulsion is very smooth. My prior car ownership has been a 19?? Aerostar, 2003 Odyssey, 2003 Focus, and 2005 Tucson. This volt is the zippiest thing I've ever driven (although the Focus was fun). I'm looking forward to seeing what it can do on electric only since my driving is mostly within a 5 to 17 mile radius in Southern California with a few 425 mile trips a year to the mountains. Will report back when I've had more time under my belt. I am finding YouTube and Reddit extremely helpful in learning how to best handle the new-to-me volt.
