Almost 20K miles on a 7/17 early production '18 Traverse and the only repair other than oil and filter changes was the replacement of the shifter wiring harness under a TSB ffr the early production units.. Still runs nice and tight, rattle free and trouble free. My family's 35th GM product in the past 50 years and the best of the bunch.

646 miles on the odometer and transmission failed. My 15 year old Tahoe made it 256000 without a transmission failure. It’s hard to accept waiting on the side of the road with a car that doesn’t even have plates on it yet.

Transmission Failure, Stranded Family = Unhappy!

Transmission failed at 10k miles, leaving family stranded in 95 degree heat. Chevy roadside assistance, Onstar, Local dealers, nobody came to get us (we were in a very rural area after 6pm on a Saturday and no rental car places were open, no Uber, no internet- just voice cell service). Chevy wanted to tow to small local dealership- we had to pay to get it towed to our dealership. Had to call friends to get us. Repairs took 2 weeks, plate replacement and software re-load to fix. One month later (while trying to get to a wedding), transmission will not engage when shifting into drive while engine hot. Will have to go back into shop. This year model does not have the bugs worked out- the 9 speed transmission is not reliable. We begged Chevrolet to give us relief and buy back the vehicle. We were denied. Please save yourself and your family. Avoid this car at all costs. We love the look and features of the car (why we bought it).. Thankfully my family is ok- but this could have very easily ended very badly. It is not worth the risk to your family- especially since Chevrolet will not take ownership of this defect.

Transmission shifts poorly in lower gears. Third trip to dealer to fix. Still not sure if it can be fixed. 4,600 total miles.

Bought brand new - no power steering after 3K

I bought the all black redline version (premier) off the showroom floor in Nov, I have 3K miles on the truck. Went to grab lunch at work, sitting at red light when a warning light pops up - power steering failure. Instantly it was like trying to turn a tractor stuck in the mud without hydraulics. I muscled the truck back to a parking spot and figured it was only two turns (10 miles) to get to the dealership. That was 12 days ago, dealership had to order a power-steering module (which of course they didn't stock and nor did any parts store) not blaming the dealership as this is a 2018 vehicle and GM probably hasn't sent out any yet. They now have the module, but also need special (one time) use bolts to re-install the module which will not come for a few more days. This should not happen on a 2018 vehicle with only 3K miles on it! That aside, I like the how the truck handles, the features, and the room inside. I am not sold on the 9 speed transmission as it seems to search for gears at times during city driving and isn't always smooth as it makes up it's mind. I do really like the looks and ride, it is quiet and fantastic driving on snow and ice. I really needed it when driving to Iowa in late Dec right after a large snow storm. Other vehicles were really struggling in the bad conditions, I was not and it gave me a lot of confidence when driving, never felt like I was slipping or not in control even though I was going much faster than others in the same conditions. Time will tell whether this problem was a one off or something to keep an eye on, I have read another report of a steering problem so this could be just the beginning.
