Total Disappointmen, GM should be ASHAME!!!!!!!!!!
Purchased a 21 Tahoe Premier in May'21. The vehicle has been in the shop on numerous occasions. The first time the water pump went bad after 2800 miles. The second time was due to Airbags/Seat belts lights and rear lift gate molding wasn't secured properly and still today the molding is very loose. As it pertains to the Airbags/Seat belt warning lights, the technicians at the dealership state that neither the GM TAC Team nor the technician at the dealerships has seen these codes before. The Dealership ordered and installed an overhead console which didn't resolve the problem because it was the wrong part number. After the right part was ordered and installed, the codes were still present in the system. GMC TAC instructed the dealership to chase all the wires. After chasing the wires and retesting, the codes were still present. TAC instructed the dealership to re-flash the BCM, after doing so, guess what? , codes were still present (lol). TAC instructed the dealership to replace the Front Camera Module. Front Camera Module replaced, guess what? , codes were still present. Was informed by the dealership yesterday (6/22/22), that GM TAC wanted the dealership to remove the top headliners and check all the connectors. This vehicle has been in the shop since May’19 and now that we are almost at the end of June, it’s beyond the point of being mad, IT’S JUST LAUGHABLE AS HELL!!!!!! It’s to the point that GM is playing dice-just keep rolling hoping they don’t “CRAP OUT”. Don’t misunderstand me, I LOVE GM SUVs, I have a 01 Suburban and 02 Avalanche, but this 21 has been a nightmare to the degree that my wife and I hired an attorney for suit against GM for breach of contract under the Lemon Law Warranty. This vehicle is not safe to drive because the dealership can’t guarantee the airbags will deploy upon an unforeseen accident or will deploy accidentally while driving. I strongly recommend each of you do your research. 8200 miles on the vehicle as it sits in the shop NOW!!!!!!!

Huge improvement except for gas mileage
I had a 2009 Tahoe that was a fantastic car and got me over 200k miles with few issues. Love the new Z71. Interior is great, looks stunning, tech has a few kinks, but otherwise great. Nice ride and the increase in interior space is great. My biggest complaint is the gas mileage. Worse than my 2009 5.3 by a lot! I’ve got 12k on mine in 6 months and just took it on a 2000+ mile road trip. No trailer, no rack, nothing on the top. Granted I can guess the aero and tires of the Z71 don’t help with gas mileage, and I was averaging 80 mpg but I was getting 14.5 mpg or less... much worse than my 2009 and frankly disappointing. Makes me think there might be something wrong with it. My 2009 even with 200k + on it would have done at least 17 mpg. Disappointing enough that I’m seriously thinking about dumping it. Big miss on the fuel economy!

Engineering forgot FOG lights
Only modern vehicle I’ve ever seen doesn’t offer fog lights...in any trim package. Overall, the vehicle is nice

Beautiful Beast
I just bought the 2021 Tahoe yesterday after a ton of research. I’m thrilled and can’t wait for our first road trip to get outta dodge. So much space, so much technology, a smooth ride and a great sound system so far

Problems with Emissions
I bought a new 2021 High Country Tahoe with the diesel engine. Everything seemed to work perfect the first week I had the car and then the check engine light came on giving an error message that the emissions need service. The first time, the dealer had the car in the shop for four days because they could not figure out what was wrong and eventually said that they needed to download some software updates to the system and they put 70 mile on the vehicle. The very next day after I got the vehicle back, I get the same error message so now it is currently sitting in the shop where they are telling me they still cannot figure out the issue. I have had the vehicle 2 1/2 weeks and it has been in the shop for one week , half of the time I have owned the vehicle. This was the most expensive vehicle I ever purchased and yet the most issues I ever had with a new vehicle. This was the first Chevy I bought in over 20 years and now I remember why I never purchased a chevy.

Lackluster Features
I’ll get right to it: Auto stop has to be turned off every time you start the vehicle. The screens on the headrests are only compatible with Android devices. To use any Apple device you have to use an adapter. The screens are not removable, do not come with covers and are not built into the seat to offer any protection. If you lay the front seat back and it hits anything, the screens can be damaged. The running boards cannot be deployed manually. So you cannot clean them unless the doors are open. The placement of the rear AC/Heat buttons are in a place where they get frequently unintentionally hit. Someone in the back will yell that they are hot about the time you realize you’ve hit the button while charging your phone. The vehicle alerts with a quick 3 honks and also a written alert on the dash if you leave a fob inside. This is not great for security. If I run into the convenient store while I leave my car running for the groceries inside, I leave one fob in my purse and one hidden in the vehicle. This is a no-go with the new system. Everyone in 1 mile knows I left the key in the car. The car comes with rubber interlocking mats, similar to Weathertech. After two or three times taking them out, they will not lock back together and stay put. We also purchased the rear cargo mat from Chevy to match and it’s horrible. On my first visit for an oil change, the dealership discovered my axel boot was leaking and replaced the whole assembly. It leads me to believe that Chevy just isn’t making the Tahoe the way they used to.
Tire problems, and more
I have a 2021 Tahoe Z71 with 5k miles and it has already been back to the dealer twice for electrical issues. However, the most concerning for me is that over the past couple months with under 5k miles we have had two tire blowouts. Air pressure was normal and in both instances it was a side wall blowout. We have never had a flat on any other vehicle and now complete blowouts on two separate occasions. It’s either bad luck or a problem with the tires.
Bad lifter
Caution advised. Similar to other users my new RST Tahoe is in the shop with broken lifters. Just started shaking, thumping, and clicking out of the blue. Service lights on dash. Part is on back order. No loaners available. Unbelievable
Don’t buy/ wait 2 -3 years
The brand new Tahoe Z71 is a beautiful vehicle. I am sad to say that there have been many issues and Chevy cannot get it together. We bought this vehicle because we live in Colorado and enjoy the outdoors. Well, this vehicle doesn’t start when the temperature drops below freezing. According to the dealer, this is normal. I’ve never had an issue with a car not starting (usually buy Honda’s). Our brand new Tahoe has now been in the shop 5 times for not starting. There’s also a grinding noise around the 3rd row that is unnerving. Besides the car not working, the ride is smooth and the seats is very comfortable. I knew better than to buy a brand new design. We will be getting rid of it and buying a vehicle that actually works. Wait and buy in a few years after the kinks are worked out.
