DO NOT BUY THIS CAR!!!

Bought mine in February. It only has 12000 miles on it. THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP FAILED stranding me and in the process totally destroyed a piston and some other things. The dealer has taken over a week to even come up with the part and actually since these are MAJOR components on a NEW, I would prefer for them just to replace the engine. THERE IS ALSO ANOTHER 2016 MALIBU in the dealership waiting on parts FOR THE SAME ISSUE. Car is a nice, fancy, UNRELIABLE POS.

I bought this car brand new less than 2 years ago. Since then, it has been to the shop SIX times for different manufacturing problems with the car. One of them, they had to re-write the entire computer software keeping my car for almost an entire month.

Multiple recalls and repairs

Buyer beware. Since purchasing this car I have gone through two recalls , gear shift replacement, failed brakes (while my son was driving over a bridge) failed solenoids and most recently piston replacement after car decelerated to 20 miles an hour while going 65 miles an hour, putting my life and other drivers lives in danger. The car just now turned over 30,000 miles and it has already being towed three times. Fortunately my lease is up in a year so I can walk away. However I highly doubt the problems are completely over and the remainder of the time could be spent with more repairs. After doing research, this is not an isolated incident by any means. This is a common problem with this vehicle. Take my advice and look elsewhere before you purchase a Malibu. Whether or not I will ever buy another GM product will depend on if they honor my request for a bumper to bumper warranty extension for the remainder of my lease.

Chevrolet Knocked This One Out Of The Park

I own the 2016 Malibu LT with the Convenience and Technology Package and the car is absolutely amazing! First off, the exterior is gorgeous! It draws a lot of eyes and for good reason. The interior is extremely spacious and comfortable! The lumbar support is great and the room in both the front seats and back seats is amazing. I have had multiple adults in the back seats and they all comment about how much room they have. The technology within My Link is great and easy to use. My Link also enables Apple Car Play which is an amazing feature that just adds that much more usability to the entertainment system. On top of it all the 8" color display looks amazing! Performance itself is also very nice! You won't win any races but there is a little bit of get up and go in it. The start stop technology is also very seamless, as long as you don't try to hammer the gas the second the light turns you won't experience any problems with jerkiness some people talk about. To top it off I've consistently gotten better than the estimated gas mileage both in town and on the highway! Overall, Chevrolet really has out done itself with this car and it is one of the best if not the best in the class. I also test drove a Ford Fusion and Honda Accord before deciding on the Malibu.
