Great looks, performance and comfort... I'm a fan!

I'm impressed with pretty much every aspect of the all-new Malibu. The styling is super appealing, at least in my eyes. I went with the 1LT with the Sun & Wheels package, Driver Confidence package, Leather (with 9-speaker Bose system) package, and the Convenience and Technology package. Let me say, the 1.5L Turbo is surprisingly peppy. And fuel economy is outstanding! I achieved 38.3 mpg over a 50 mile drive. And, in stark contrast to another reviewer here, I'm throughly impressed with the stop/start technology. It's pretty much seamless. And in rush-hour, stop and go traffic I like the fact that I'm not wasting fuel and pumping hydrocarbons! I often drive 200 - 300 miles a day for my job, and I'm not totally fatigued when I get home at night. The new seating w/power lumbar is comfortable and supportive. Oh, an lots and lots of rear seat leg room, unlike the Malibu this replaces! OK... only one downside. Like I said, I drive a lot. And I find I have to fill the tank about every day and a half. I wish the tank was a bit larger, but I guess that would affect the overall fuel economy. Drive it. I think you'll like it.

Best Ride On The Road

2016 Chevrolet Malibu Premier 4dr Sedan (2.0L 4cyl Turbo 8A)

Our 2016 Chevy Malibu Premier is just one amazing vehicle. If one word comes to mind describing our Malibu, it would be the word "dependability." As we approach 56,000 miles, the car just keeps on delivering dependable service day-after-day. While we've replaced the normal things such as tires and batteries, the fact remains that we've not had to have the car in the repair shop for lengthy and expensive repairs. We average 41 MPG on our road trips. The car is quiet and very comfortable. Plus, the Boise audio system is probably the best sound system in any car. Enjoying the Ride!!!

great car with tons of safety feature

I bought this 2016 Malibu premier used car with only 3K miles, great looking, smooth drive and gas saver with tons of horse power. so far 1 free oil change/tire rotation done by dealer. I really enjoy the mylink. The safety feature like adaptive cruise control, high beam are useful, park assistance is great. Luxury inside with heated/cooled/memory front seats, 10 airbags and big trunk size are fantastic to me and family. update after 6 months with over 10K miles: I have no issue with the car at all, the experience I have now is still great. I really love tons of new features and plenty of power. The combined MPG is pretty constant at ~29. I totally drove over 10K miles in 7 months, everything in the car is very reliable. Update after 12 months with almost 20K miles ** I had problem with moon roof, it did not work to open moon roof and I sent car back to dealership. the root cause was harness. The car is still in warranty and dealership fixed it. Other than the moon roof issue, I don't see any other major mechanical issue. ** I need also mention one thing, because the car is coming with Apple CarPlay, but sometimes the CarPlay did not recognize my iPhone but still charge the phone. I think this is issue from Apple not from car. But I hope dealer or Chevy can update the firmware at the same time. update after 20 month at Dec. 2018 So far so good after the sunroof was repaired by dealership. I did not see any problem with the car, still has plenty of power and gas saver (average is ~30MPG).

After One Year of Leasing

After leasing this car for a year now, I can't wait until the lease is up. I have actually considering trading it in, however the value on the car is severely low, and I don't want to lose $6k+!! The Pros: 1) I love the look of the car, it's much sharper than the previous model year. 2) ability to remote start from phone. 3) quality feel of the dash and surroundings (however, seats need extra padding). The Cons: 1) the Start/Stop feature is horrible, after sitting at a stop light for longer than a minute or two, the car starts back up and when it does, it loves to jolt the car. 2) I don't get the gas mileage that the car claims to have. 3) Within the first week of having the car, I noticed a rattle noise coming from the engine that sounded like tin vibrating whenever you would accelerate. I'm extremely OCD when it comes to noises from my cars, so I took it into the dealership 3 separate times to have them take a look, had multiple things replaced on it, including a muffler, none of things they did fixed the issue. Then they tell me that somewhere in the engine there is a design flaw that causes the noise, but they can't do anything else for me, and they can't spend anymore time on it. So for the past year, I have just tried my best to ignore the noise as best as I can. 4) the resale value is HORRIBLE. 5) Wish the car had more HP, as the car is sluggish. For such a sporty looking car, I would expect it to have some more WOW. Conclusion: I REALLY don't care for this car and I don't think I'll ever buy a Chevy again after this car.

Truly a superior and roomier design than many of the larger sedans, and most of the similarly sized competitors. Handles better, roomier, and much better cargo space than the Buick La Cross we replaced, (horrible headrests).
