Don't get the 4 cylinder. You will love getting out into traffic with 300+ HP, that does 0-60 in 6 sec, and has a manual on-the-fly shift from manual to automatic. What do you really want in a car? Take your eyes off fuel mileage for a moment, and consider a roomy, quiet spacious, luxurious ride where you can have a conversation with your loved ones; great handling and braking, and the controls are simple. Don't get navigation or sun roof - better without them and a nice Garmin. The Avalon is a little tighter in the steering, and has sport mode, but does not have the power - and it is double the price.

I shopped for 6 months before purchasing the Impala. I compared all vehicles of same size. In my opinion the Impala gave the biggest bang for the buck. I am very pleased with the purchase. The car performs great.

This car is very comfortable to drive and ride in and gets great gas mileage. I truly hate it will no longer be made but I keep good vehicles for 10 years, that gives me time to think about my next vehicle.

This LTZ Premier was my father’s car. Its extremely comfortable and smooth. It’s got all of the features and comfort of a Lexus. It’s very powerful with the V6, and the power is there even through 60-100mph. I often feel like I’m crawling in a 40mph zone and I’m well over the limit when I look down. It’s very sure footed and and the suspension and steering is fairly tight, not too plush like on other cars. It’s firm enough to handle well, but the ride is smooth. The leather is really high quality and the driver seat is amazing for my back. The lumbar support starts out low and rises as you keep the button down. My lumber issue is very low and I just adjust it to hit the right spot. Quality interior. Great stereo. It’s very quiet inside, highly insulated. Keeps cool inside on hot summer days (that could be because it’s white and I’ve never had a white car). It’s got 50k on it now. There were a couple of tire sensors replaced early on, and a major AC component. I’d consider an extended warranty if buying from Chevy. We put a 100k wrap on it that covers everything but powertrain and the powertrain is bulletproof. It was an affordable warranty. So everything has been 100% covered. I think that AC thing was a fluke. Any car is going to have something go. These cars have an excellent reputation for a reason. I’ll add no one messes with you on the road in this thing. Possible Cons: Gas mileage. You don’t buy it for mileage. Also it was odd that a major AC component costing $2500 went at 40k, but stuff happens (I accepted the dealer’s diagnosis because it was under warranty). For the money for a used LTZ Premier I really don’t think you can beat it.
