Overall, a good full size sedan. I am 6'5" and found that I have plenty of head room and am not in the least cramped and still have adjustment room left in the driver seat (normally, I run out of room for my legs, not so with the new Impala). You absolutely need the V6, as the 4 cylinder would be highly stressed in this size vehicle. The V6 has plenty of power and mileage is acceptable (I am getting 22 city/27 highway). Acceleration is excellent and the tranny shifts smoothly and efficiently; it likes to keep your rpms under 2400. I like the "manual" mode, which I use in town. Large trunk, rear seats fold down flat, adding more trunk room. A good vehicle for tall people.

Seemingly Common Fuel Pump Issue

I bought this car about 2 months ago. As I am driving down the highway the service engine light and traction control lights come on as well as two warnings. One stated that I needed to service the Stabilitrak system and that engine power was reduced. I took it to the dealer the same day to get it fixed and got a call the next day saying the fuel pump was faulty and needed to be replaced. The part is on back order as well so it will take at least a week to get the necessary repairs. I did a little research on this and found that it seems like a common problem. It also seems like it might be a recurring issue so I'm pretty worried about future problems considering this happened just 2 months after I bought it. The repairs are covered under the factory warranty so it's not costing me anything yet. But seeing as how quickly and frequently this issue arose I would imagine some costly repairs in the future. I'm typically not one to complain but given the circumstances, along with with the fact that this is the first new car I've purchased, this experience has left a bad taste in my mouth. I am questioning whether or not I will purchase a GM product ever again.

Long term rental

I was on an assignment so I got an impala for a long term rental. I drove it to and from work, to and from my home, and around town. I generally like it. However, my biggest peeve is the noise. I was convinced that the rear window was open because of all the road noise I could hear in my left ear. But, no, that is just its lack of sound deadening material. In every other aspect this is a nice car. But, it is just too noisy. Trunk is quite large. It is a large car.

Best full sized car i ever owned

I bought a used 2015 Impala from a Davison Mi. dealer 2 years ago. Lost the car after just 7 months won't go into reason Absolute perfect full size car, and i've owned 28 cars since age 18 back in '65. Silver 4 cylinder LT. Only constructive criticism: front seat comfortable but to close to floor; you'll need to vary the power seat setting on long trips or you'll get leg cramps. That is my ONLY negative on this car. Unbelievably smooth and quiet as a library at midnight wearing ear plugs. Drove it 700 miles from a friends place in Kentucky to my home in Burton Mi.NO fatigue at ALL. Uncanny quiet. Makes a Lexus feel like a farm wagon in ruts. Interior a cross between rocket ship and 1920's house of ill repute. 4 cylinder amazing acceleration; feels like a 6 or 8. Do dislike the low profile tires; the beautiful but pricy alloy wheels WILL get bent if you drive fast on rutted roads; i switched to a Pulse aftermarket wheel and a high profile Michelin Defender tire in 16 inches. Even Consumer Reports loves this car. I have a bought new '08 Impala and it's ok but i damn near cry from sadness having to give my silver 15 back. GM messed up killing this car. In a bright Ruby Metallic this is the best looking best performing sexiest full size car EVER MADE, bar none. Paint quality superb. Don't test drive a '20 unless you have good credit cause you'll BUY it if you drive it.

Silver steed

This model year had some short comings. Back up camera is lacking on clarity. Info link screen leaves a lot to be desired. Screen hard to see in bright sun light. Adaptive cruise control flutuates to much. Slow to correct speed and hold it steady at the set speed. Vechile purchased new in May 2015
