Way better than a Honda Accord for half the price
I suppose the Chevrolet Impala is one of the most underrated cars on the road. My only regret is that they don't make a coupe version, presumably because that would cut into Camaro sales. I traded out of a Camaro into the Impala and I couldn't be happier. Instead of focusing on me and if anyone is looking as I drive by, as I did with my Camaro, I can now increase the humility factor and just focus on getting to my destination. The Impala is very easy to drive, very quiet, spacious inside and you can barely hear the engine running. However, with 193 horsepower, contrary to the totally false review statement about the Impala "lacking ooomph", the Impala wakes up very fast and can pass most of the cars on the road if you floor it. Another caveat with this increased power is the poor fuel economy, as I expected better than 15.7 miles per gallon. For a four cylinder, that's unbelievable, even with the 2.5L ecotec engine and my generally controlled acceleration. On the highway I average about 32 miles per gallon, but in either case, I will sacrifice fuel economy for a quiet and smooth ride, which the Impala does give. On several occasions I received unsolicited compliments about how beautiful the car looks, being in Topaz Silver, a discontinued color, and I really love it myself--a very pale, pastel blue with metal flakes. Inside is very spacious and the dashboard is perfectly laid out with the instrumentation, climate controls and communications. The LS version does not have the MyLink but does have an adequate 4" LCD display for audio, phone, navigation and setting up the car. The Driver Information Center is located between the tach and the speedometer, and even while driving you can cycle through information like fuel economy, fuel range/miles remaining, oil life, tire pressure, average speed and trip odometer. I like that the Impala has interior lighting for both the front and back, and leg and head room are plentiful, even for a tall driver like me. The 8-way adjustable driver's seat is the best I've ever had. As for performance, this car handles much better than the Camaro, and you don't have to wait for the back end to catch up. Cornering, accelerating, braking and steering--all as good as you could expect for a base-model mid-size luxury sedan. The stock Firestone Firehawk GT-500's are very quiet the first 1,000 miles, and after that they slowly get a little noisier--am planning on upgrading to the Pirelli' P-7 Cintaturo's or the Yokohama YK580's in the near future. Highly recommended and very low priced--I got the 2015 LS brand new for $19,995 at Bill Pierre Chevrolet in Seattle.

Chevrolet Impala 2015 - Great large sedan!
I bought the Impala new and have thoroughly enjoyed it. Great for long trips with excellent seats and a very large trunk. The safety ratings are very solid but you lack many of the new features given this date of production. This one has the 2.5 four cylinder at 200 horsepower which is adequate but the 6 cylinder which I have rented is much more powerful. The gas mileage over 30 on the highway is appreciated for such a large sedan. I don't like the engine start / stop overall and don't believe the 1 mpg gain is worth it. You can not cut this off with a switch as in some other makes. Not much technology on these if that is an important area for you. There is a small battery in the trunk that provides power to the accessories. These batteries are available for a low price on the internet. With the start / stop set-up the factory battery is huge and lasted 9 years which was amazing. The ride is smooth and you can see the similarities to the Cadillac models which are similar in design. The reliability ratings have been really good and the only issue I've noticed occasionally is the transmission having uneven shifts at low speeds. These are great large sedans and worth a look given the prices of even modest comparative models today.

Interesting
This car has many things going for it. The looks: This vehicle is a shark on the road. It demands respect by the front fascia alone. Even though you may have the 4 cylinder, just but the way it looks people will automatically guess its a 6. Its very roomy on the inside and isn't made with cheap material. If you don't mind washing it often Id perfer the deep black. A nice coat of yellow wax will leave heads turning. Performance: I personally have the 4 cylinder. The 6 is not really practical for me right now being that I am trying to simplify. Better gas as well ofcourse and cheaper insurance. It is not the quickest off the line but once it gets going it really moves! It is fairly quick for a full size vehicle with a naturally aspiriated 4 cylinder. I would definately recommend this car. After my lease is up I may opt for the LTZ or go another route. But this car will do for the next 2 years.

Possible defect in navigation screen design may make visibilty unreliable.
While driving, if the sun's glare hits the 45degree front screen in the 2015 Chevy Impala, the navigation picture may suddenly become invisible. This is especially hazardous when in reverse, when you expect extra rear visibility as an additional safety feature.
IMPALA DOES IT AGAIN!
I have owned 8 Chevy Impala's in my car ownership life. My first Impala was in 1958 and I absolutely loved that car. It had drawbacks like it rusted quickly and the back seat area was small with 2 children. I kept it till 1965, when I purchased my next Impala. Then many Impala's followed. I thought that my 2005 Impala was the best Impala that I ever owned and that it couldn't get any better. My present 2015 Impala is the BEST car that I ever owned. It handles like a dream, comfortable to drive and ride in and for a V6 it is very peppy and economical to operate. I am really bummed that GM has opted to discontinue production of the Impala. I'll be forced to look at another manufacturer for my next purchase as I don't need or want an SUV. I have my preferences when it comes to transportation. Hey GM, let's keep producing the Impala.
