Bought my 2007 Impala with 53,000 miles 6mo ago. Forth time having it serviced and only at 63,000. PCM failed after 4 months which hydrolocked my engine. Hydrolock caused fuel injectors to go and a bent piston. Had my car back for 24 hours after 2nd fix of engine problems and engine light is back on. GM unwilling to help any further. This was my first GM product and my LAST.. Owned a 1999 Dodge for 160,000 miles and no where near the problems I have experienced in just 10,000 miles with my Impala.

I owned a 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix that was fun sporty and fast. However its radiator cracked at about 200,000. I figured I should get a Chevy because i figured it would be a nice car. I was wrong I should have bought another Pontiac or Ford. I'm replacing tires every 19,000 miles approximately because the car came with a weird toe angle on the rear tires, the suspension and steering are too loose. On the suggested improvements i ran out of characters

I own a 2007 Impala SS. I bought it primarily to tow a 27' Airstream coming in at 4,000Lbs. I've added 2 items to the car: K&N Cold-air intake and Magnaflow Performance mufflers. The numbers are now around 325hp & 340 torque. Don't try to tow anything heavy unless you have a custom hitch made (Can-Am RV in London, Ontario is THE best Tow experts). In general, the car is a joy to drive and handles very well (watch out for torque steering - hold tight). The 5.3L LS4 V8 and the 4t65e HD transaxle have handled the towing (so far) with ease (remember I'm towing an Airstream). The interior is comfortable and well laid out. I prefer the faux wood dash of an LTZ; I have a silver carbon-fibre look that is quite nice, clean. I know there are some haters out there who do not believe a muscle car can be FWD. I respectfully submit that they are wrong!

Satisfied

I have a 2007 LT3. Car looks good, nice interior, good build quality, handles well. 3.9 engine is smooth and offers very adequate power. Gas mileage is disapointing. I had a 2003 with 3.4 engine that would get well over 30 mpg on hwy and mid to upper 20's in town driving. LT3 with 3.9 gets 16 mpg in town aND 25 on hwy. Also wind and road noise are excessive.

Needs some tweaking, but could be awesome!

Expected better mileage on the highway. Window sticker shows 27, not even getting 20 as of right now. Engine wants to stall at stop lights with air on max. Water gets inside door frame when washing car, have to dry out inside of door frame. Sometimes there's lifter or valve rattling. Too much power for a front wheel drive vehicle, can get away on you if not careful.
