No longer a Chevy fan

My husband and I purchased two Impalas in May of 2006. First of all to those folks who have said the problems are related to TLC of your car, I couldn't disagree more. My Impala has had all the appropriate maintenance and yet it is still falling apart. The first year was okay, but approx 15 months after we bought it the Intermediate steering shaft & a tie rod had to be replaced, since then it has been one thing after another from emissions systems to the latest a power steering problem. Oil consumption and climate control have also been issues. The noisy windows I think are standard, on both of our cars the windows screech when you roll them down.

I took my new bride on our honeymoon to Montana this past June (I'm from Arizona). Before leaving, I had the oil changed and had the entire car checked out before I left. As soon as I hit 76,000 (1,000 miles past my extended warranty) the transmission began to slip. I was left stranded and GM refused to help me. I was forced to pay for a local transmission shop to repair the car, luckily for me they seem to have done a good job. I will never buy another GM car. They do not build reliable cars and I have always supported them up until this. Here is a list of other problems that I've had to deal with: 1. I've gone through TWO waterpumps. The first waterpump went out because

Fold down rear seats

Fun to drive. Needs more cup holders! Did not get fold down rear seats option. This could be a problem, seeing that there is no keyhole to access the trunk. If you have dead battery, you won't be able to get jumper cables out of trunk.

After heavily researching the Honda Accord, Subaru Forester and a variety of SUV's, 0% APR on the 2006 Chevy Impala SS prompted my wife and I to take a test drive. Glad we did. Total miles so far: 1,500. The interior is simply configured, no hard to find controls. Plenty of room in both the front and rear seats, and it has a distinctive exterior look. Then we drove it. Wow. More than enough power to handle any traffic situation, merging or otherwise. We have a family of 4 (kids age 11 and 16). Longest trip so far has been 260 round trip miles.

Foreign car lovers are in for a surprize if they are truly looking for the cake and eat it too package. Quiet, great ride, smooth comfortable feel even in gusty crosswinds. A sophisticated manner that has immediately brought compliments from passengers. Experienced drivers only! This car will keep you very busy if you ask for all the ponies at once, and it delivers like a true SS. This car is an excellent value, something Chevrolet is known for and serves it up in style with American pride. "See The USA"
