My dream car
I found this car on a fluke private seller was asking 350.00 dollars for it all it needed was rocker panels and a thermostat . 139909 miles when I purchased it put new tires on it and it runs like a champ excellent room for 3 car seats in the back dash cluster is the only problem now but I downloaded an app to my phone to take the place of my speedometer so not a big deal everyone I tell about it says I robbed the guy who sold it to me lol been looking for one for a long time and now I have one

The impala walla walla bing bang
Bought this car from a private owner who abused the car. It had scratches, scuffs, and a few weird dents (how did you do that). I loved the color (Dark grey mettallic), the rear spoiler, the overall looks and wheelbase for that comfy ride I am always looking for. Got it for $4800.00 in 2011. Insurance is low cause it's considered a family car with only a 3.4L. Great MPG....I get 30/31 highway and 25/27 combined, and around 19 in city. Have replaced water pump, thermostat, rack and pinion steering (possibly from abuse of previous owners). Of course I've had to replace the wear and tear stuff that's normal like brakes, struts (I recommend the dealer struts, not aftermarket like monroe etc.) Had to flush radiator, transmission fluid several times (abuse from previous owners). Bought the car with 78,000 miles on it and now have 150,000 on it. Does not burn one drop of oil. The one thing I hate about the car is when accelerating from a stop (not very often but it does happen) is it shifts with a "Kick" that feels like someone hit you from behind. Mechanics say its a "shifting module in the transmission that needs to be replaced. If I knew it had this I never would have bought the car. Overall...it's ok. Maintain it and it will be a good car for you.

Bought used
I bought my '05 Impala 3.4 after losing my first car in an accident. I was quite surprised by how solid the car was. It had 139000 miles on it, and was mostly clean and cared for. Only had to replace a few things, as is normal for a used, ten year old car. My friends and I love the car, and it's far more comfortable than what they drive (One has an '07 Camry, which felt awfully stiff to me). The stereo is great and the sound quality is clear. It had an issue for a while where the CD would skip 5-10 seconds of a song. Drive it to college and work on a daily basis, and it just keeps on going, no matter what happens. Very reliable, although gas mileage could've been made better. Pros: Feels like a couch Responsive and accelerates quickly (For gearheads) Great engine sound and pretty good performance for a sedan Great stereo Transmission is quick and smooth Looks great in gray Cons: MPG is a bit sub-par Only one key, trunk needs a separate key. Probably can't get it when buying used. Can be a bit bouncy on hard bumps.

LOVE IT! 112k miles & still going strong
We purchased our Impala in 2005 when it was less than 1 year old. 5 years later and over 100k miles later it's still a phenomenal vehicle. It is comfortable and roomy. The ride is smooth and engine has a lot of get-up! The stereo is great. Most importantly, it has been a wonderful, reliable family car. We have had zero (non- normal) repairs. Despite the fact that I personally like the look of some of the Nissan and Toyota's more I'm pretty certain my next car will be another Chevrolet (Malibu).
2005 Impala SS
I recently purchased this car. I love the ride, the style, and the performance. It has around 70,000 miles, and no rattles or squeaks! And while I've had it only a short time (just over a month), I was quite surprised by the low fuel economy. Even while staying off the boost, the MPG is still pretty lousy. I had a 3.8 in a 97 Pontiac GP, and got much, much better mileage. But I guess thats the price one pays for performance! Other than the mileage, no problems at all!
