#1
Diesel engine has a lot of torque and gives good fuel mileage. Large 34 galon fuel tank means long trips require few stops. Ride quality is excellent.
BEST TRUCK IVE EVER OWNED
I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK WITH 180000 MILES ON IT.LOVE THE 6.5 TURBO DIESEL ENGINE. LOTS OF POWER AND EXCELLENT FUEL MILEAGE. I AM GETTING 18 TO 20 MPG. NOT BAD FOR A 7000 LB. 4WD PICKUP. IT IS A GREAT ALTERNATIVE TO BUYING A $40K.DURAMAX.

1995 Chevy K2500 4WD Ext Cab LB 6.5L TD
For those seeking a fast truck, this ain't it. The 6.5L Turbo Diesel doesn't make the rear end chirp the pavement, but rather it feels more like the street is being pulled towards you. There's alot of negative hype about the 6.5 Chevy Diesel. Don't listen to it. The key is simply maintenance. The truck runs as good as the day I bought it. Oil changes, transmission services, air/fuel filter replacements, and a few minor repairs are all that's needed to keep this motor running in top shape.
'94 full size chevy truck review
I have 99,000 miles on this truck and it has never failed me once. This truck is very comfortable inside and looks great. My alternator went bad but my voltometer guage showed this problem, so I was able to fix it before my battery went dead. I would recomment this truck to anyone.
Chevy Reliabililty
Purchased this truck from neighboor, with 183,000 miles. Used only for pulling a 32 ft trailer. This truck has plenty of power could be a little better on the acceleration. Interior could be better equipped vent placement etc. Gas mileage isn't too bad, only bad part is filling the 34 gallon tank up. Only mechanical problems I have had are the carrier bearing and ac recharge. Overall the truck is built well can with stand anything, thrown at it.
Best truck on the road
It's a heavy duty long bed with canopy and steel rack - diesel so 13 loaded and 15 on the road unloaded is good gas mileage! This truck goes anywhere in the snow with a load in the back! Starts anytime! Gives real security whenever, where ever! Only complaint is the heat/AC. Barely warm enough in the real cold on the road but does keep the frost off your nose and the AC just wouldn't stay charged. Good thing I live in the Seattle/Tacoma area! Defrost works fine! Love this truck!
Great Work Truck
I bought this 3/4 ton 4x4 chevy at 64,000 miles (all of which were used as a work truck). The truck is equipped with a dump bed and snow plow. It has the 350 engine and auto tranny. The transmission is wonderful. It is the smoothest shifting transmission I have ever driven (and this is a 3/4 ton). The engine has plenty of power for what I use it for. I am very pleased with this vehicle overall.
That's a good truck paw paw!!!!
The best truck I've ever had. Bought it used with 80000 miles. Drove it like I stole it. Still running like a champ with 152000 miles. Drove to the Grand Canyon from South Louisiana when it had 120000 miles. No fear. I'll say it again THE BEST TRUCK I've ever had.
RV and Commuter
For nearly eleven years this truck has taken me back and forth to work and when I go on vacation I carry my vacation home with me. On weekends it hauls lumber and garden supplies and trash to the dump. It has performed brilliantly.
It's been a great truck
We first bought the truck as a secondary vehicle to tow our 24 ft. boat and to haul other things. Little did we know, that we would have it this long! 156,500 miles later, it's still going strong! Our 16 year old son now drives it full time. But unfortunately, we will be selling it soon because of the lack of modern safety features.
for resale
love to drive-holds the road great with the wide tires, excellent for 5 th wheel rv
Lots-o-truck
5.7 liter V-8 / Great truck. If you want a reliable hauler, buy this truck. The only problem I have had with this truck was the power boost module for the brakes, a fluke, but still happens. Not a fast truck, but with a K&N gets a solid 14mpg no matter where you go
Chevy 3/5 ton
I've had this truck 10 years. What a great truck. Hauled and hauled and never a real issue. Under-powered at high altitude with a full load. Only minor issues along the way, fuel pump, alternator, battery. The brakes lasted over 75,000 miles, not bad.
Like a rock...
I own a 93 K-2500, 5.7L, 350 V8, 4 speed auto with overdrive, single cab longbed and I can say that it has been a very reliable and hard working vehicle. I have hauled 4,000lbs of cement mix with no problem, the transmission is built well and runs great, the 350 is nice but the 454 or diesel option is just as good / better. The truck is currently at 170,00+ miles with Ohio rust in the usual places, but the frame has no holes or cracks. This is a good first truck and I would recomend it to just about everybody. It's easy to fix, and learning to fix it is just as easy. If taken care of properly it could probably run for a good long time.
Reliable truck
Great truck. Good all around vehicle that has great pulling power for all loads. Only issue has been with 4X4 transfer case leaking, other than that comfortable and plenty of room to work within engine compartment.
yaya
solid and good work truck
92 Chevy k2500 5.7 Scottsdale
This thing is coming up on 30 years old and it is still a beast. I have been putting a lot of work into it. A lot of work… pretty much just cosmetics. After 30 years, the first 10 being farm abuse the thing runs beautifully. It is my everyday driver, I still have the flatbed that was put on it a few weeks after it was bought in 93. I have only had it for the past 5 years and have spent less than 1500$ on parts and repair. What can I say. Anyone with half a brain can repair these things for a fraction of the cost of todays trucks. It can still pull a load but it definitely wasn’t built for long trips. I have pulled 12,000 lbs loads going 55mph and I believe it could do it all day. It was not meant to pull going 70mph with engine and trans that I have now but I really didn’t expect it to. If you want something that is going to outlast any of the new tin cans coming out on the line today, and you are not worried about spending a little extra on gas, buy one of these! I spent $4,000 on this and I will never regret it.

Good truck overall
I have put 10000 miles on this vehicle with no maintenance whatsoever. A good work truck. However, with a V8 under the hood, 15mpg is not too bad. It holds the road well.
my 2500 4X4 Silverado extended cab, LB
This is a very good utility vehicle as well as a very comfortable touring vehicle. I purchased the vehicle at 125,000 miles and put 50,000 miles without any extensive repair other than repair caused by driveing style/wear & tear. The 7.0 liter engine is strong in the Lower gears, but found wanting in accelleration in the higher gears.
Good Truck
Well My parents bought this truck brand new, and i bought it from them. I was 16 when i bought it, It was an awesome first truck!! Chevy did a great job on these trucks.
Add a 330HP crate engine Great Truck
My truck has been a great truck, with one exception. The original engine was only 175 horsepower, so I replaced it with a 330 horsepower crate engine. NOW it's a fast truck, good 4 wheeler, reliable, and gets 19-21 mpg. Problems in 100,000 miles: Antilock went out once, radiator, alternator, clutch.
keeps going
I have put 222,000 miles on this truck and it keeps asking for more, the only major work I had to do was rebuild the trany at 200,000 miles, i am buying a new truck this year an It will be a Chevy hands down...!
Tom's Review
It,s been very reliable till it hit 90,000 miles. The trans went and cost me $2,300 to repair.
2500
Great truck. mine has a lot of mods.
Chevy 2500
We've used this truck for three years in the landscape construction business. It's always been good at pulling loads but the brakes have been bad and the transmission has also failed. The door latches have repeatedly failed as has the hood latch. The radio has broken twice. There is a real problem with the rear axle seals breaking and greasing up the drum brakes. This puts all the work on the fronts and the rotors warp and/or crack. This has happened twice with this truck and once with my 4 wheel drive chevy of the same year.
Will not stop running!
All of my kids have learned to drive, and drove all through high school. Used every day since purchased. Neighbors still borrow it when I am not using it. Gas mileage is 13-15 mpg in city driving. Have used as a tow vehicle also. Just recently lost air-condidtioner, so I am selling - too much stop and go driving without air conditioning in Washington DC summers.
