Used 2010 Chevrolet Camaro Coupe Consumer Reviews
2000 miles through,wind,rain, and snow
I rented a v6 Camaro. Drove with 2 adults and 2 children. Trunk held kids luggage, gifts, and overnight bags for adults. I moved drivers seat up for passenger. Drove that way for 3 hours no issue. teens were good to go in the back seat. Drove through nasty weather from Seattle down I-5 over to Hwy 101 to San Fran with 2 adults. Standing water, high winds, and heavy rain. Car handle well and was fun drive through the twisties on 101. Seat comfort is ok. 4'11 wife could see over door sills. V-6 has plenty of power, It'll pin you to your seat. Drove through Yosemite and 80 miles of snow at 5000+ft. Slow going with chains but no issues. Adjust mirrors be careful backing up, blind spots.
PAINT CHIPS!!!
I have wanted a Camaro since the Movie Transformers came out.. I love the look of the car . It is completely sexy and hot!... However, I have had my Camaro for 2 months and every single time I wash it or inspect it, I find more and more paint chips.. It is so disappointing.. I don't tail other drivers and I park in the nose bleed section of every parking lot to prevent door dings... These chips are coming out of no where.. There are not scratches.. these are large chunks of paint missing.. you can see the gray primer under it.. Also in the seams where the hood meets the fenders, the paint is flaking off.. I really hope Chevy does something about this.. I love my car..:(

Fun car to drive, but seems to have consistent issues
Fun car to drive. I have never owned such a fun car to drive. Power and performance are outstanding. Reliability? Come on, Chevy. I know you can do better. Within months of purchasing the car it began to do "funny" things. Like telling me all 4 tires were flat and not one was, giving me an airbag warning and adjusting radio volume on its own to name a few. The Chevy dealer said it needed a computer upgrade and we did that. Everything was good for a few weeks, and the issues began again. Back to dealer, same problem. Now, 60K miles into it, the car has left me stranded twice and I no longer have any faith in the reliability. Be warned if you are looking for a reliable vehicle.
Nearly Perfect
I have owned to 2010 Camaro 1LT for around 9 months now, and I still have a smile on my face every time I hop in the car. The power is amazing (now SAE certified 312 hp, instead of the original rating of 304 hp), especially coming from a V6. GM knocked it out of the ballpark with the design. I have had people lean out of their cars on the highway to gawk at the car, people talk to me and ask to see inside it at gas stations, and been given thumbs up by other people driving their cars and motorcycles. I seriously feel like a rockstar driving this vehicle.
Major Mechanical Issues - Thats Life!
I, unfortunately, own a 2010 2LT that currently has about 70,000 miles. I have had multiple major mechanical components of the vehicle fail prematurely. Specifically, one of the catalytic converters failed at about 60,000, the throttle body and related wiring failed at about 45,000, the timing chains stretched at about 35,000 and most recently have just stretched again at about 70,000. GM assumes no responsibility for the issues and when questioned for assistance with the second timing chain failure has relayed the message that they believe that this is normal wear and that the 35,000 mile interval is acceptable. Terrible product. I do not recommend if you purchase one if you like your hard earned money. Other than the major mechanical issues the car looks fantastic. I guess I always really did need a $35,000 lawn decoration.

3.6 v 6 timing chain
DO NOT BUY the 3.6 v 6 engine. This has a faulty design on the timing chains. Check engine light came on at 52,724 miles and coded P008 & P0017. Chevy dealer said needs timing chains, cost $3,000. GM has issued extended warranties for 10 years and 120,000 miles on other makes and models with the 3.6 v6 for timing chains. NOT ON THE CAMARO....They acknowledge a problem under their Customer Satisfaction Program 10287. The only problem is their Customer Satisfaction Program is of absolutely NO HELP if you own a Camaro. They want you to foot the whole bill. Google Camaro timing chain and read all the other complaints from other owners for the same problem. The car however looks great parked in my driveway. "Time for my wife to give me a ride in her Nissan to the flower shop so I can buy flowers to plant on my expensive Camaro planter living in the driveway."

Does anything else really matter?
I've put 2,700 miles on my new Camaro so far and I have mixed emotions. Dealership made me a fair deal. I'm averaging 23 mpg. I love the looks and comments I get from friends and strangers alike. Now the bad news. Front end scratches easily from rocks/debris on the road. Funny rattling noise coming from a/c vents. Passenger A pillar creaks. Onstar/phone seldom works. Radio/speaker quality needs improvement. Interior scratches too easy. Bottom line, who cares. The car is smoking hot. I bought the silver with black heritage rims and get loads of complements. I've had guys in Corvettes and Mustangs staring at my car. For under $25k, it's a work of art. I love my Camaro, so does everyone else.
Never Again Chevy!
Never again Chevy! I recently bought a 2010 v6 Camaro with the expectation that it was reliable and lots of fun but boy was I in for a ride! The car motor only had 48k miles. 2 months in and with 50k miles the timing chain started to stretch! We contacted the dealership to have it fixed and they referred us to Chevy corporate. Corporate promised to assist us the best they can but I can tell you it really much of an effort from their end. They blew us off saying that the car was out of warranty since it’s 2010 but this was complete [non-permissible content removed] considering the car only had 50k miles on it! I take it to a shop and they quote me well past $2k to fix it. Now the car is at 55k miles and the motor blew! It’s a brand new car practically and the motor blew! I came to chevy expecting quality and reliability but what I got in return was nothing but a lemon. Thanks Chevy! I’ll never get anything chevy again until you care about your customers!

Serious Paint Problems!
I grew up driving camaros and was very excited when the new models came out. Drives wonderfully but the paint job is horrible! Did they only spray one coat? I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a paint recall. I've seen several other 2010 camaros around town that are all equally scratched up. We've only had the car for 5 months, 1,400 miles, no accidents, and there are chips everywhere. All you have to do is look at this car funny and the paint will chip!
Beware the Paint and Sight Lines...
Wow, purchased a Red 2010 2LT RS and was blown away by the looks, unique interior, and list of options/features. I was concerned about the roof line, but thought I would get use to it. And then the paint chips began. I started to get paint chips by the "gills" even though I had purchased the painted splash guards. And then I read camaro forums and quickly learned of a paint issue on the camaro. The stories are horrific and I've seen the pictures! GM is not acknowledging that there is a problem, of course. The root of the problem appears to be a change in paint due to federal/Canadian laws. After 500 miles, I traded for a 2010 mustang gt and couldn't be happier! So, buyers, beware!
Timing chain Horror
2010 Camaro with v6 check engine light on at 52000 miles diagnosed stretched timing chains. Cost to repair $2,800. GM recall on other models with same engine and problems extended to 10 years 120,000 miles. Camaro not included in recall. After 40 years of loyal GM ownership this is the last GM product I will ever buy. GM Ultimate FAIL....

Amazing car
This car is amazing! Being able to have this much power AND decent gas mileage blows me away. I get looks everywhere I go and people are always asking about my car! No regrets here!

Style, speed, handeling and 32mpg
Just got the car, amazing performance all around. This car is as fast as my LT1 1995 Camaro was yet the 304HP V6 averages 32mpg+ on the highway with the cruise set to 67mph. Over all just and amazing package and fun to drive car. Great cornering, acceleration, and drop dead gorgeous styling.
Who drove this before they built it?
Had the car for 2 months, if someone wants it I'll sell it now! Too big, too heavy, poor driving visibility & seating position the hype doesn't match the finished product. For GM it's a high margin vehicle that sells behind great marketing & visual style...that's how I got hooked. I don't get it when other buyers say this car handles great, compared to what?? After owning 3 different 70's muscle cars the retro formula is disappointing. For those looking to buy one I have one for sale at a discount!
Awesome Car
This car is great love the retro style has plenty of get up and go. I have to set the cruise control or i end up going way over the speed limit. Great job Chevy
Good
Everything is good just bought it like 2 months ago selling it cause I need money.

GM Hit a home run
This was my first rear wheel drive sports car, have been wanting one since my teens and I think I picked the best year to buy in my life time. This I think is an instant classic. as another person said this might be the best car GM has ever built and I have owned many. I get many complements daily, it never stops and like someone mentioned earlier it almost gets annoying, but you feel good knowing you own such a cool car.
Turns Heads
To all those worried about previous poor reviews, do not worry. This car is amazing. Before I purchased, I read some reviews about faulty paint, couldn't be further from the truth. I bought the SI Synergy Green package and the car looks amazing. To prove the paint point, the main road by my home began new paving the day I brought the car home. There was road debris all over and raised manholes. It was inevitable that small asphalt stones would kick up, NO DAMAGED AT ALL. Also, the 6-cyl has a lot of kick to it. I'd recommend forgetting the sunroof, it is actually an eyesore when opened (doesn't 'hide' in the roof). Oh, it took all of about 2 minutes to get used to smaller window views.
I love my Camaro!
I am in love with my car and everything about it. If I could improve one thing about it would definitely make more space in back. Other than that I love my car!❤❤❤❤

2010 Camaro
I have had my 2010 Camaro for almost 2 years and the only problems I have had is the tire pressure sensor and the paint. Mine is black and I have had alot of people wanting to see it up close to include police officers.
Fix The Thin Fenders
GM! Please finish out the fenders. They are very thin and need to be finished out. I was washing the car and almost broke the back fender off by the back wheel. GM needs to take a look at the 2010 Mustang and finish the camaro out like Ford Did. Also the 2010 Ford Mustang seems to have higher quality than Camaro. Love looking at the car. Fix the cheap thin fenders and paint.
Whiplashing Fun & Stylish
I absolutely LOVE my Mean Green Machine- "Synergy" OMG heads turn all the time, actually got pulled over by a State Trooper just to check it out. Included.. Sunroof, upgraded Stereo, Rear Spoiler & added Gauge cluster the only thing missing from this model is the leather seating. I would definitely recommend to anyone who's hesitating. It's a great car!
BEAUTIFUL BUMBLE BEE CAMARO
Transformer Model
Awesome!
Had been building my car on the website for a couple months, so knew what I wanted. Got the 1LT in Rally Yellow with the black stripes and the Boston stereo system. Had an '88 when I got pregnant and traded it for a minivan. Then, had a '77 (in 2001), but moved to FL so had to sell it. Traded my earth-friendly Prius for this car and don't regret it at all!! People love to look at it all the time.
I'M A GIRL AND I LOVE MY MONSTER!!!!!
CAMARO 2 LT/RS package.I'm driving it for 2 months now and I love it !!!!!! However I'm planning to get 2SS/RS to have even more fun.
No spare
Great car, rides, handles well, luv the looks everyone stares at it. Small windows make it difficult to park, would be difficult to get out of if doors won't open after accident. Issues with lack of spare tire, offered as 150.00 option if ordered. standard tire inflate kit, what happens if you have a hole in the tire? Dealer doesn't sell spare tire kit. can't find one anywhere. Tire mfg.won't warranty tire if sealant used. Most tire dealers won't fix tire if sealant has been used. Don't like the door lock/unlock feature location.
awesome
What a head Turner, love the get up and go. Don't feel like your going as fast as you are could get in trouble I think.
18 hours and counting...
Still in my first 24 hours of ownership. Amazingly slick car for the price! Planning on adding the RS rims to this LS to at least partially capture the looks of the $30K+ RS models. The below-sticker price, with a few incentives added in, made this Camaro cheaper than a Malibu 4cyl! Still to early to rank most of these categories accurately, but so far so good! I'll consider this my unborn son's high school graduation gift...never hurts to shop early!
AWESOME
This my 4th camaro and by far the best. I LOVE it. One word to describe it AWESOME!!!
Olympic 10
My camaro arrived 2 1/2 months after ordering it and believe me the wait was worth it. Mine is the red jewel tintcoat and looks like Dorothy's ruby slippers, absolutely gorgeous. This car turns heads and gets thumbs up everywhere I go. Ride and handling is perfect. Luxurious yet gripping. The base 3.6 liter engine is in one word powerful. Mileage is averaging 23 mpg combined hwy and city, better than my Cadillac STS. THe interior is sensible and standard equipment is loaded with features. My options were the connectivity package, automatic transmission, and the rs package. Everything anyone needs. Acceleration is great, interior noise unbelievably quiet and the ride is phenomenal. Great car
What A Ride!
Replaced my 2000 V6 5 speed manual Camaro with this sporty 2010 6 speed manual with increased horsepower. Love the feel, ride, looks and pricing on this beauty. I always knew this new model was coming and held out from getting a Mustang. It was well worth the wait. Well done GM.
Embrace your blindspots!
Can't believe that my son and I convinced my wife to go for the Camaro over the Buick Lacrosse. Lacrosse is an amazing sedan but... I really love this car so far. Smoother than a performance coupe should be, faster than a V6 has any business being. I had an 08 Mustang GT with a V8 and the Camaro is quicker and sips gas. Eliminate your blindspots and stop obsessing over them: Most drivers set their mirrors to see the side of their own car. Set your mirrors to eliminate blindspots. Sit in seat, lean head until almost touching driver window, set mirror now to just see side of your car. When you sit up straight, you have no blindspot. Then lean same distance to right, repeat for pass mirror
I got a Red One :)
I traded my H3 in for this baby. I have the LT2 with the RS package. Automatic, with all the goodies. It's Victory Red with White Stripes. Love the Sound System, The paddle shifters, I sit low in the seats, I'm 5'6", but that's what makes it so awesome. I feel as though I'm in a race car. My favorite part of the interior is the ambient blue lighting on the doors. too bad they couldn't of continued it all through the dash. Everyone looks at my car. It is sooooo easy to speed in this and not know it. So I like the speed notification you can set up. To warn you when you exceed the speed you had put in mine is at 69. I did get the spare tire, don't feel comfortable driving around without it...
Excellent Product from GM
Wow. This car has blown me away in the week and a half I have owned it. Every day I look forward to driving it, it looks so good in the garage! The exterior is stunning, I don't think anyone has ever designed a car that looks this good for the price. Interior is very nice too, although not as good as the exterior. The quality seems good, everything is solid and convenient. The seats are very comfortable, and it is easy for a 6'3" guy like myself to get in and out of. The styling on the inside is kinda retro, but I like that so it works for me.
Winding roads
I needed a driver and I couldn't find a car that looked good or felt right. I drove the 2SS and felt the power was excessive for a daily driver though lots of fun. This car's a looker, turns heads and kids take pictures with cell phones where ever I go (it's red). I love the retro interior, it reminds me of my youth and the fun I had "cruisin." I've been waiting for the "marshmallow" styles of todays' cars to disappear and chevy finally did it. This camaro exudes muscle with its looks. I only wish that they hadn't chopped the top so much. The resulting limited sight makes it difficult to predict turns while mountain driving especially when gaining altitude with the sun in your face.
Don't be bashful!
This car absolutely rocks! A total homerun from GM! I can't even drive to the grocery store without getting at least 2-5 comments on how awesome of a car I'm driving and they're right! I'm very grateful and appreciative that I get to drive such a fantastic piece of craftsmanship and design as this.
Bumblebee V6 with a 6-speed manual
I've owned higher performance cars in the past, but for a good compromise of comfort and performance, my Camaro is a good fit. We didn't want nor need the performance of the big V8, and liked the good gas mileage of the V6 models. We opted for the standard equipment manual transmission just because... The car is simply a blast. With the 19-inch wheels the car will take a corner pretty flat, but it doesn't rattle the fillings out of your teeth over bumps in the road either. Add the yellow paint and black stripes and it just simply looks sharp. Comfort is good with excellent seats even without adjustable lumbar. Visibility isn't perfect but like any other car you learn the blind spots.
Near perfect for its purpose
Chevy really hit the ball out of the park with this car. It's really near perfect for what this car is designed for. It's got the looks, the muscle and the comforts. It rides too well for a sports car and yet manages to be firm in cornering. The power is amazing, I have the v6 version and that is ALL you need, it beats most sports cars out there off the line and at rolling speeds. Get used to seeing most people in the rear view mirror. The best part about this car is the look. I have the dark grey with black rims basically it looks like the old bat mobile. I get compliments almost every day, all age groups, sometimes it gets annoying. Excellent value as well.
BigD1276's 2010 Camaro 2LT
I have had my 2010 Camaro for almost a year now. It is still fun to climb in the cockpit and take her out for a drive. The V-6 engine has 304 horsepower which is plenty enough to get you where you are going. The leather seats are comfortable and easily adjusted. 6 speed manual transmission is smooth with short throws. I love my 2010 Camaro and can't wait to drive it again.
Fun to drive RS Camaro 2010
This car is fun to drive and when you park it expect to draw a crowd. I have had entire families walk over and ask to look at this car from the Dad to the youngest child. We own a Victory red with black stripes Rally Sport the car is a head turner. I actually watched a guy taking a right turn hit the curb looking at this car forgetting to straighten out his car. So if you want a car that will be a collectors item get your hands on a 2010 Camaro !
This is a great car
I have been in my Jewel Coat Camaro for a couple months now and am as excited each time I start it as I was when I picked it up from the dealership. Performance is perfect in every way. Fun to drive, acceleration amazing and looks like nothing else on the road today. When parked next to my coworkers Corvette most people radiate towards the Camaro with good reason. The Camaro looks tough from every angle. Wide and mean is the best way to describe the looks from the front. I am totaly satisfied with this car. I would rather drive this car than my Cadillac STS and that is a great car. I tried the imports and had nothing but trouble with my Mercedes E350. I would buy this car again and might.
RIDICULOUS
This car is almost perfect. I have the silver ice metallic V6 2LT with a moonroof (I have no idea why they call it a moonroof at at GM) and the RS package. The car looks great on a sunny day, but it looks even better when its cloudy, in low light or at night. I get so many people pointing at me as I drive buy it's crazy. As far as the power in the V6, for most people, including those who have driven very fast cars, it's plenty. This car is fast. I am having more fun in this car than I have had in any other car I have owned.
What can you say AWESOME!
Ever since it was announced that they were bringing the old body style back, lets just say I couldn't wait. Purchased a Black on Black with the V6. Power from a V6? you would think it's a V8.... Trust me. Lines on this car are incredible.
Beautiful Beast
Bought my Camaro last August under the Cash for Clunkers program with GM employee discount, needless to say it was a great deal. Car has exceeded expectations when it comes to ride, performance and body structure rigidity. I have always owned smaller cars so the size of this car took some getting used to at first. Word of advice if you are considering this car: this car handles well and sticks like glue in corners, but it is not a nimble sports car (i.e. a Subaru Impreza WRX is a nimble sports car). You feel the weight even in the V6, although I hear the V8 feels even heavier. In the end, this car was obviously designed to be eye candy first, functionality second.
Witness Protection Program
This car draws more attention than Paris Hilton or Linsey Lohan on the town at night. If you want to keep a low profile consider something else! The car has great road feel, comfortable but taut suspension and build quality as good as my Accord. Good luck getting your hands on one!
LOVE THIS CAR !!
Well driving this car is a blast! I get looks and looks no matter where I go people have followed me just to see it I've had construction men wave me down to stop just to ask me what it was since I was the first in town to own one ~!
Camaro Euphoria!
I love this car. Turned out to be way better than I expected. The V-6 has plenty of power (304 hp) and no one knows any different. The head-turns and interest in the car is awesome. I'm a college guy and the girls sure love this car.
GREAT, GREAT, GREAT
Three years ago when GM said they were going to bring back the Camaro, I said yea, sure, same ole, same ole. I have ate my words, twice. This is probably the best car I have ever owned, 21 and counting. The ride, power, fit and finish are perfect. Chevy has a great car again. I bought the LS, 3.6, 6 speed manual to try to replicate the '67 version as much as possible and for 23,000 I feel like I stole it. And I thought my 08 Miata was fun to drive......Another reason I bought the LS, 6 speed manual is because as of this date only around 500 have been made. There will be many LTs and SSs on the road so the LS will be hard to find one day. Great car, buy one NOW.
Very Happy
I bought a silver with black stripe 2010 Camaro 2LT with the RS package. I had wanted this car ever since I saw it. The V6 has plenty of power (I can't imagine the V8). I rarely get to hit 6th gear. The car is very cool. It is a little hard to see over the hood - especially if your trying to park within the lines of an empty parking lot. Also the cup holders are in the worst place ever. Other than that this is a great car.
