Love my new X-7! So fun to drive and comfortable for the whole family. Ride is super smooth and the technology is insane! There is just something about the way a BMW drives… quick, tight and smooth.

The only review you need

Owned 2021 BMW X7 X40i and loved it so much I bought a 2025 X40i. I gave a 4/5 star for performance on the old model but I now it give it 5/5. The acceleration is much more head swinging. If you are cross shopping this with GLS, which most likely you are. The ride is quite different between the two trucks even though they serve the same function. The X7 drives like silk, more fluid, while the GLS’s drive feels like cotton, more pillow-ish. Unless you go for the Ebody option, the ride in the GLS is unremarkable, but the X7 feels very special on the road. It’s so planted yet so light on its feet. You can burn other large 3 rows at will. I would say the only other 3 row suv that feels special to drive is the RR. But I really don’t want to mess with that reliability. My old X7 had a little over 100K miles on it before I traded it in, and I never had one single issue.

I purchased my X7 with M-package on January 30th 2025. I’ve added 4,000 conservative miles since new. Today was the very first time I pushed the pedal down. I Love my X7!!! I’ve been driving Bimmers since my first 1984 320i. This X7 was a mistake. You know car dealers? I was literally buying the exact same X7 but a M60. 24 hours later my car was sold! (I’m still a little mad that the dealer didn’t trust I was coming back in the next morning.) When I arrived there next morning I found out my car was sold! But as I was standing on the dealers lot and the salesman said “Hold on?” A trailer was pulling up with the exact same X7 but it was a 40i. I was hesitant but eventually accepted the 40i with a great price. (Yeah Right!) Here we are 4 months later with no regret. I’m so happy with my X7 M40i I’m going to sell my home just to purchase a 2026 M5 to drive and live in the X7. Lol. It’s been 40 years of BMW love for me and I have no complaints. Bimmer-Man for life! Ps: Hybred is cool. But no to Electric.

The X7 is pricey and beautiful and high tech. The car exudes quality. There is hardly any noise in the engine has ample power for acceleration. The seats are very comfortable. My first issue with the car was the overly complicated tech. There are so many ways to customize settings, but it all felt very overwhelming even for someone who is tech savvy. The other issue I had was the narrow room to pass between the two captains chairs alternatively pressing the button to move the seat forward, took forever and not practical from the third row to get out.
