Love my new X-7! So fun to drive and comfortable for the whole family. Ride is super smooth and the technology is insane! There is just something about the way a BMW drives… quick, tight and smooth.

Owned 2021 BMW X7 X40i and loved it so much I bought a 2025 X40i. I gave a 4/5 star for performance on the old model but I now it give it 5/5. The acceleration is much more head swinging. If you are cross shopping this with GLS, which most likely you are. The ride is quite different between the two trucks even though they serve the same function. The X7 drives like silk, more fluid, while the GLS’s drive feels like cotton, more pillow-ish. Unless you go for the Ebody option, the ride in the GLS is unremarkable, but the X7 feels very special on the road. It’s so planted yet so light on its feet. You can burn other large 3 rows at will. I would say the only other 3 row suv that feels special to drive is the RR. But I really don’t want to mess with that reliability. My old X7 had a little over 100K miles on it before I traded it in, and I never had one single issue.

The X7 is pricey and beautiful and high tech. The car exudes quality. There is hardly any noise in the engine has ample power for acceleration. The seats are very comfortable. My first issue with the car was the overly complicated tech. There are so many ways to customize settings, but it all felt very overwhelming even for someone who is tech savvy. The other issue I had was the narrow room to pass between the two captains chairs alternatively pressing the button to move the seat forward, took forever and not practical from the third row to get out.
