Owned an Audi Q5 prior to purchasing my new X3. Wasn't thinking about trading the 2018 Audi (really liked it), but with used car values up 39% last fall-it was a no brainer. BMW gave me a $2000 military discount off SRP. I now have driven the car some 8000 miles and every trip is a joy. The super peppy 4cy. turbo will get up and go in Sport mode and still gets me over 30 MPG in highway driving. Due to the chip shortage, BMW put in some M model features simply to get the car produced. The 2022 was cheaper than a similar 2001 as some features were unavailable ie. passenger seat does not have power adjustment. The tech package outpaces the Q5 with several additional features. On my first 3 hour trip, the car asked me if I was tired as it would find me a coffee shop. The seating position is superb and the ride is extremely quiet. The nav system takes some getting used to, but is very large and accurate. Car play is included, but I never use it. The run flat tires run smooth and create a much larger cargo area due to the absence of a spare tire. Under the cargo area is a large storage area for small items. All in all, the X3 is a very good value for the dollar. The only shortfalls of this quality vehicle are the standard sound system (very mediocre) and the floor mats supplied are cheap and need replacing. I do miss the USB ports of the Audi as I could load up hundreds of songs.

I’ve had my 2022 X3 for 6 months now. My wife and I love it. No other SUV drives like this BMW. A great combination of fun, luxury and tech. Fast enough, better than expected fuel economy (25/35) after 6 months, comfortable but minimalist leather seating, lots of nice touches. Fun to drive!

It's been a month so far so good. The addition of the 48 volt battery makes the start stop all most unnoticeable. Excellent horse power, that thing is a beast! Fun spirited driving, Couldn't be happier. Update - Still happy after 6 months. No issues at all 3/23/2023 Update - Still loving this car! I've had zero issues and have only done maintenance. Gas milage is good. The average since I owned the car has been 27mpg. I would recommend

BMW excitement in a glamorous SUV

I'm coming back to BMW after ten years with Audi cars. As good as Audi is, they just can't duplicate or approach the excitement of getting behind the wheel of a BMW. I chose the red leather interior, which has changed for 2022 to a rich plum color. It's gorgeous. The acceleration is strong and the steering is highly responsive. Nothing feels superfluous, although if you have the opportunity to upgrade to premium sound, I would. The standard is fine, but nothing like the Bang & Olufsen in my last Audi Q5. Mileage thus far has been terrific. I'm a happy camper.

Very similar interior to the 2019 530i that I traded in. I am a 5’ Female and felt I was sitting too low in the Sedan. Very happy with the view out the Windshield…Not as smooth a ride as the 530i, but pretty darn close.

This car is great. My single only issue is that the driver seat is not as comfortable as I would like it and I wish it had maybe 1 more inch of lift capability so that I could sit a little higher.

There was not a lot of X3s in inventory around me, so I ended up with a base model with no options. While still a great car in the base model, I do highly suggest getting one with at least the Convenience package which comes with a lot of features which should be standard (such as comfort access remote keyless entry).

This is my first week with X3, I have the Brooklyn Grey metallic and Oyster Vernasca Leather. That new gray is amazing. Both exterior and interior look have improved. Exterior looks sharper with grill and headlights. I have the digital cluster and I would recommend it. You can somewhat customize it. Due to supply chain issue, most BMWs are missing wireless charger, mine did not come with one. Inside everything feels premium from all the buttons to new 10 inch screen. The only downside is MPG in the city is not great like 15/17MPG range with a lot of stop and go but maybe it will improve over time. I would recommend this car.

Combination of this motor and Z8 transmission are very well done. I am a big fan of the driving characteristics, utility, refinement, and technology. Does everything you want. The BMW voice assistant or Alexa (Amazon Music) with native navigation work great for my needs VS CarPlay. Perforated seating (leather-like) have exceeded expectations on comfort and looks. Over 30mpg on road trips.

Nothing compares to BMW quality

I actually took my 2016 BMW 328i in for an oil change, etc, and fell in love with the 2022 X3’s. I could not leave the lot without one. I have only owned mine for 3 days, but I am exceptionally pleased with it. I am a tried and true BMW girl, my last three vehicles have been BMW, truly nothing compares to the quality. I have drove a Land Rover, Jaguar, Cadillac, Mercedes Benz– nothing. My X3 has an upgraded package that boasts a heated steering wheel, heated seats, keyless entry on all four doors, touch screen, hands free trunk entry, hand signals that the car picks up for the radio, navigation, reclining back seats, assisted breaking and assisting steering, and so much more that I can’t even remember. All of the features make for wonderful road trips with happy children in the backseat. However, none of that compares to the ride quality, it’s like riding on a cloud smooth with 0 noise due to new technology. BMW outdid themselves with the 2022 X3.

" On another level "

" All I ever did was pull into Fields BMW of Orlando with my 2021 Grand Jeep Cherokee Laredo 4x4 to see what kind of SUV's they had. I was sorta bored and had driven past the dealership almost everyday. Pulling up in front, there sat a 2022 X3 sDrive30i. Using my ninja 🥷 skills in an attempt to avoid a sales rep, I slid upside the vehicle to look at the price sheet. Too late!!! I turned and looked into the eyes of my sales agent, Sydney. Without too much convincing, off we went for a " test drive ". Having never driven a BMW, my love affair was instant, as well as permanent. Needless say, handing over the keys for my jeep in exchange for the BMW was the easiest thing to do. I am the proud 👏 owner of my very first BMW. It is an amazing vehicle, and truly on another level ".

I've been driving my xDrive30i for almost two years. Overall, I have enjoyed the ownership and the driving experience and would highly recommend this model to others. Pros: - Fantastic 2.0L turbo engine with strong acceleration (in Sport mode), good fuel economy and a sporty exhaust note. - For a tall SUV with decent ground clearance, it handles great with a firm but well dampened ride and quick steering (in Sport mode) - Upscale and functional interior with high quality materials, without being too gimicky or gaudy - Infotainment screen is sharp, responsive and easy to use, with wireless Apple CarPlay. Gesture control is actually useful. - Very bright headlights with handy cornering feature - Decent amount of room in the front and back seats - Front seats are firm and supportive - The car feels solid and well-made and is a great value considering the price paid - Did I mention to drive it in Sport mode? Cons: - Loud wind noise around the A-pillar at highway speeds; not fitting for a luxury car - Speedometer reads 10% higher than actual vehicle speed (apparently a lot of BMWs do that) - The fake leather seats get really hot under the sun. Get light color seats (or upgrade to real leather) if you live in a warm climate. - The ugly digital dash has odd-shaped gauges and a map center that provides no useful info - The joystick style shifter is finicky and very hard to put into neutral - Auto engine start/stop is jarring (fortunately, driving in Sport mode disables it) - Rear cargo space is small, especially if you get the spare tire option, which raises the cargo floor. - Pandemic chip shortage resulted in the deletion of multiple options, but only minuscule credits were given in the price by BMW.

X30i not very BMW to drive

BimmerBoy63, 11/22/2024

I just traded in my BMW X3 30i x-drive after 6 months of ownership. In this review I will touch on what I liked, and why I traded it in. For reference, I have been driving the E90 3 series for the past 16 years and still love it to this day, but at 187,000 miles I need something newer. First the positive. 1.) The 4 cylinder turbo is a very adequate engine considering how heavy the vehicle is. Once turbo boost kicks in, it accelerates quickly and get very good gas mileage. 2.) Looks great both inside and out. The build quality and materials are excelent. 3.) infotaiment works great and .is very customizable. 4.) Very quiet and all speeds. When stopped, it's hard to tell if the engine has stopped or is still running, even when I shut off the start/stop feature. What I did't like and why I sold it: 1.) I found the front seats very uncomfortable. They have a strange shape that pushed my upper back forward in an uncomfortable way. No adjustment could eliminate this. The lower seat feels narrow and hard bolster push against you thighs. The upper seat is wide and the bolster do not hold you in place. The bolseter adjustments were eliminated by BMW 2.) I did not like the transmision. A lot of reviews rave about it, but I found it slow to get going from a stop or slow roll, and most annoying was it would push you forward while downshifting coming to a stop. This happened in every drive mode.3.) Brakes; they just didn't feel properly progressive when coming to a stop and make you really feel the weight of the vehicle 4.) Ride quality was not good. It felt very unsettled and rocked unconfortably over uneven pavements. It was not at all confidence inspiring and got annoying to drive over the very poor Indianapolis roads. My old 3 series with the sport suspensions drives much better 5.) Fun factor. I love my 3 series because it is just plain fun to drive. The X3 never felt this way. Best way to describe is that it didn't feel sporty and it didn't feel comfortable. It was just annoying. I hope potential buyers find this helpful and check these things out so you do not end up dissapointed like I was. I wanted so much to love the X3. I traded for a Mustang Mach e, and it rides and drives so much better than the X3, and is much more fun to drive. If the X3 drove like the Mach e I would still own it.

Everything looks good , except my vehicle does not equipped with digital key. Trunk space is smaller than my 2005 RAV4 but looks big in most videos on YouTube, adequate power, seating is ok with sensatech, the M sport package is a most option to get, it make the vehicle muscular. Overall I’m satisfied UPDATE: Superb corner handling, smooth ride, the twin turbo inline 4 has enough power when needed for passing, quick acceleration, safety software working as designed (frontal collision warning, rear pedestrian crossing and blind spot warning). The only complaint I have for this SUV is there is lack of IOS mirroring and no option to get a black grille when ordering the car.

Not for long term - electronic failures

I would not keep this car for a long time. Every feature is tied into the infotainment system including car functions. Transmission mapping, seat position, seat heat, climate controls, etc. The car has been in the shop 3 times already in as many months. The cruise control stopped working when the perimeter sensor failed. The sound went out 5 or 6 times whenever the Sirius customer agreement came up. This car will be a nightmare when the electronics start failing as it ages. I am amused when my 2007 Kia Sedona mule with 250000km drops off the 3000km BMW for repair (and the new 2014 A4 when the transmission failed, and the 2015 C300 when the electric steering failed). The best part about the car is it eats up bumps. Our roads were bad and have gotten much worse after Covid. The car is great. I notice there is a lot of exterior noise coming through the door windows and seals.

This robust M40i has the engineering guts to handle the performance expectations of my enthusiastic needs. The quality of the design and most of the feature attributes are excellent. These include many automated functions and enhanced safety features. The lack of vented seats coming standard in the premium package, and no electronic steering wheel adjustments (with an easy out function) are inexcusable gaps at this price point in a luxury SUV. The $500 wireless charging, which I did not get, is overpriced and I was able to buy the parts to accomplish the same result for $60 from Amazon, and it fits right where the factory option is located. The net is a nearly perfect luxury performance SUV. Must have items for me included the premium package, remote start, shadowline, blue exterior, congac interior, and 21" wheels. Nice to have was the parking assist. The "wish I had" items include a carbon fiber dash and vented seats (I live in Texas, so why dealers don't order their vehicles with this upgrade is beyond me).

For context: not sure how many reviewers here have actually driven this car before - I have been driving it as a rental car for 2.5 weeks and am so looking forward to returning it in a few days. Key problem areas: - jarring ride quality even in comfort - steering which requires constant corrections in both low speed and highway speed cornering - accelerator pedal very sensitive and therefore (I) jerky from stand still and (ii) hard to keep constant speed at highway cruising - seats are AWEFUL. Lower back pain (which I never get) kicking in after an hour of driving - speedometer clarity / design is terrible….you will end up only ever using the head up display On the plus side - pretty impressive fuel efficiency for a performance trim - built quality (much better than Mercedes’ e class - in my opinion anyways)…feels very premium - engine pull is good but not great What was BMW thinking to sacrifice on so many ends to put together a pretend performance car which isn’t even all that fast???

We have had 5 BMW vehicles in 7 years. Each vehicle's alignment gets out of alignment with only local drive and the worst part is we have replaced 5 sets of tires. Each vehcile required new tires at less than two years old and less than 29000 miles. Tires that hold up on other vehicles for 50, 000 MILES hold up for 25-29000 on BMW. The BMW electronic aligmment controls on their cars is wearing out tires. I have owned 42 cars in my life and we will never own another BMW. Its a problem that tired are lasting on 2 years or just shy on their cars.

Only two weeks with this car. What a blast. Ambient lighting makes me feel under the sixty year old I am. Nice add is the m sport package. Wheels look amazing. Easily readable instrument panel (standard panel). I ordered this car and it was delivered optioned the way I chose in twenty days. Thank you Spartanburg! Very pleased

I'll break it down for a potential buyer in a few sentences. Mediocre handling. Breaking is slow. Doesn't have luxury interior. Exterior is good and that's about it.

One of these things was inflicted upon us by a rental car company for a week. Would never buy one. In fact I would say that this is a car that I would design to be passive-aggressive towards people who will buy anything with a BMW logo on it.

Sold my 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL and a 2022 BMW X3. So far I’m very happy with the purchase.

Great acceleration, excellent visibility and a terrific turning radius. Lane centering combined with distance spacing cruise control makes long highway trips easy. Not so friendly electronics and self parking feature sucks.
