Worst mistake I ever made

OK, so I bought a 1990 Car in 2014 and it had 200,000 miles on it. It was only $2000 so I paid cash, and I trusted the guy who sold it to me. It has been in the shop so much that in the past 9 months I have only put 3000 miles on it. I didn't expect it to be perfect, I new it would take some work, but this has been ruinous for me. $800 for a windshied came with the $2000 price, but I've put in about $4000 of work on the thing. I'm honestly terrified to drive it lest something else break. It has dumped it's coolant all over the freeway, it has caught fire, it has stopped moving in traffic at rush hour, the air conditioning doesn't work. I expected things to break but the problem is all the pieces that break are old and specialized. They are hard to find. If this was an old Ford I could get parts at a junkyard, but these have to come from Germany sometimes.

Bought the car with 22,000 miles and now it has 210,000 with fantastic reliability. Comfort and great performance for a luxury car. Even with the years it looks great and has lost none of the characteristics you expect in a BMW. The passenger room and cargo space are exceptioanal...why have an SUV?

I have owned expensive, Mercedes and BMW's.... My favorite by far is BMW 750il.... I have owned one for the last 22 years. BEST car I have owned. Overall, the least expensive car to maintain per mile. Performance, safety, luxury, and Good looks,.. The best under valued/rated car on the road. What else comparable, can one purchase for such at today's low price?

This is my second one. First one was in a flood and to much wrong to restore. I found this one through my cousin who lived next to the older gentleman that had originally purchased it brand new. It was so amazing the color inside and out with all the options i wanted. Alway garage kept never driven in the winter. Cannot say enough great things about this car. But remember never buy the 740i or the 750i models have a lot of engine and electrical problems. But the straight six 3.5 liter engine is great and with the super charger it is even faster than the 740i and the 750i. It rides like a Rolls Royce and handles like a Ferrari. Yes when you put it in gear the rear end sinks down to put more wait on the rear wheels for traction. I never have gotten stuck in the snow or slid with this car. The engine just purrs and when you close the trunk, hood or doors it just has that nice click like you just got out of a Roll Royce. Something I have missed on the new ones. When I travel on the Highway there is nearly any road noice. In the winter I do keep it in the garage out of the weather and drive my 1993 BMW 525iT because it looks like it just came out of the show room.
