It's Fun to Drive Again
I've had this car for about six weeks, and I still can't wait to drive this car every time I get behind the wheel. The thing that I like the most about this car is that it does what you tell it to do - in every way. If you want to go - it goes! If you want to stop - it stops! I don't even know what you have to do to overdrive a corner - it holds the road like no car I've ever had. Your wish is it's command. On top of that, I get 29 mpg in mixed driving around town! The only knock on this car is that the entertainment system operation is clunky, but everything else has met or exceeded my expectations. I'm all in!

Value for Money BMW
I traded in a 2020 Subaru WRX STI since the used car values for the car was higher than what I had paid. I was looking for a much more economical(fuel economy), great handling vehicle which was not marked up crazy in these times(1H 2021). So i test drove a lot of vehicles, found the steering terrible and handling not to my liking, incl. Audi A4/S4, BMW M340i and Lexus IS350. For the money and deals on offer(16% off MSRP, with Costco Auto Program & corporate sales program incentives), the BMW 330i(RWD) was the best handling car with lots of space and awesome technology(iDrive has improved a lot and love it better than Audi's Cockpit). I dont have many options and it was much cheaper than the competition and for the pure rear wheel drive experience in a safe and spacious vehicle with gas mileage(34-40 mpg), nothing else comes close. The only drawbacks for me were steering( little vague, but I came from hydraulic power steering in STI) and lack of essential features like keyless entry(Convenience Package was not there on my vehicle). I also came from a manual transmission vehicle and I was worried about performance and the ZF 8 speed gearbox and fun handling more than make up for my loss in manual transmission. It rides beautifully and I purposefully did not opt for M Sport package which brings staggered tires and rims which hurt the handling sharpness of a square tire and rims. I dont take it to the track, so e-differential didnt matter to me as much. The biggest revelation is that M340i was something I was keen on and I honestly felt steering and handling wise, it was not as fun as the base humble 330i. The 15-20k premium is purely for the lovely engine, but the 4 cylinder surprised me with the responsiveness and efficiency. For other comparisons, Audi S4 was great, but the handling was not same as a pure RWD. Lexus IS350 had great motor, but there were space deficits. Same with G70 and Alfa Romeo. The technology is intimidating, but some of the best executions I have seen. I have owned '17 Audi A4 and '13 BMW 3 series(with old iDrive) and I can unequivocally say that it is vastly improved and voice recognition legit works and even for someone with an accent. So for the price I paid and for what I received for STI, I believe I got a great deal for a car which is no less fun than STI, but with a different feel and great gas mileage. It was hard for me to let go of the Subaru( I have had WRX and STI in the past 4 years). But BMW has upped it game with G20 (2019+ ) 3 series and it is worth evey penny as long as the MSRP is in under 45K. The options are a killer on this vehicle and please refrain away if you can and for the base vehicle, this is an awesome deal, even in these times.

Perfect Balance
For those on a strict budget, the 330i does offer a lot. What it doesn’t offer is nearly 400hp from a silky smooth inline 6. Without driving a M340i, you won’t know what you’re missing. Once you drive one, you won’t want anything else. This car’s drivetrain is the star of the show. It has virtually no weaknesses. Instant torque, quick throttle response, a smooth and quick-shifting 8 speed transmission with mental telepathy, and great fuel economy to boot. For me and many others, this is just a perfect power plant. The interior? I love it, but taste is subjective. Controls are intuitive and well placed. The infotainment system is typical BMW — complex, robust, responsive, and worth the steep learning curve. Plenty of leg room and head room. Seats are very supportive and well bolstered. Some find the exterior plain or without the typical BMW hallmark style. I think it will age well because it’s not overly stylized and doesn’t try too hard to follow recent trends (looking at you, Hyundai and Toyota). Adaptive LED headlights are great and, unlike another certain BMW model, the 3 series is blessed with a grille smaller than Lake Superior. Honestly, in spite of the relatively tame steering feel and highly insulated interior, I think this car is a modern classic that will earn itself a great reputation down the road. BMW has really improved its game, especially with drivetrains, interior technology, and reliability. The M340i is a home run.

The best compact sport sedan
I don't care what Edmunds says, but the 3 series is still the benchmark in compact sports sedans. I have a 2022 330i RWD, and the refined driving pleasure it delivers, is second to none. The 4 cyl is powerful, and you can feel the get up and go (without no noticeable turbo lag) as the car unleashes the inner sports car driver in you.

Great car
Smooth ride, feels like you’re gliding along, infotainment is intuitive and fun to use, safety features work well. Only complaint is the seats aren’t as comfortable as a Lexus for example.

Finally ditched the SUV trend
Last two vehicles were '15 Porsche Macan S (delivered on launch day), and '19 BMW X5, both excellent, but a bit shy in the fun quotient. Now this new M340i...back to looking forward to driving....somewhere, anywhere. Haven't had this much driving enjoyment since my '99 E36 M3. This car does everything well. Both powerful and efficient. Solid (rigid) construction, quiet, and handles better than the Macan. 90 mph feels like 60. This B58 inline six mated to the ZF 8 transmission is incredible....every bit equal (imo) to the Porsche PDK. No more SUV's for me...long live the Sport Sedan. If you want ride a little softer, and don't need the 382 hp, the 330i is a great choice. Just don't test drive the M340...it'll cost you some $$. 14K mile update: Still impressed by the performance and efficiency....25.2 mpg since new. Gets 37 on trips. Still rock solid and trouble-free.

Best non-M BMW.
Three months into ownership of my 2022 M340i, I still believe it's the best all-around car out there. Pros: Practicality is solid - suitcases, shopping bags, folded cardboard and the like all disappear into the trunk without issue. Car feels extremely stable at speed, easily comparable to the last-generation F80 M3. It corners quite well too, tons of grip both in the dry and wet. Sound deadening in the cabin is surprisingly good, only very slightly worse than a 5-series. Acceleration is fantastic. It's not an M3, but it beats C43s and Mustangs from a dig, and the power doesn't drop off all the way into felony-speeding territory. Auto start/stop works well and is easy to get used to. H/K audio sounds fantastic, although some tinkering with audio settings is helpful to improve the clarity. Cons: iDrive may be confusing for someone who hasn't previously owned BMWs. Nothing else really. It's a very good car.

Just bought
I came from an A7 to this. Very different car. I sit up a little higher. Has the blind spot and lane assist like the car drives itself. Easy to speed but it will slow you down if you have drivers assist. Love the display the controls. I have owned Mercedes Volo Audi and this is hands down the Ultimate Driving Machine. Has every feature but most importantly it drives smooth. It is both classy and sporty.

Love the size of the 330i
I can think of a millions things I love about this car and only one thing that I don’t. I had trouble understanding the cruise control. Also I really wish it had a charging pad.

Owned for 3-mos & Still in Love
Purchased my 2022 330i X- Drive in October 2021. This is my 1st BMW and it’s just amazing. It drives and handles just amazingly and has been reliable. Gas mileage has been high 20’s in the city and low to mid 30’s on the highway. The pythonic blue paint looks incredible and the car get looks everywhere I go. The comfort of the seats is just incredible. I was concerned about power going to a turbo 41cyl from a twin turbo 6 in my last SUV (that had over 400hp) and It’s never at a loss for power. Overall it was a great decision buying this car and I would go it again in a heartbeat!

Great engineered car
I special ordered my 2021 M340i xDrive from the Munich plant and received it mid-July. Just finished the 1200 mile break-in and am now thoroughly enjoying its considerable performance. The engine is the best I have owned in 45 years of driving. It is strong, smooth and very fuel efficient. It gets around 34 mpg in real world highway driving and over 28 mpg around town! Acceleration is effortless. I ordered it with the standard M suspension and it has a very good ride/handling balance. The car is very comfortable and quiet when you want it to be. If you want a louder exhaust note the pressing of the sport button will take care of it for you. Love the technology and looks of the car. I also owned a 2019 BMW 330i xDrive, but I prefer the M340 because of its 6 cylinder engine. Can’t go wrong with this car!

Practical and Balanced
Great fuel economy, sporty exterior and interior filled with lots of technology with comfortable seating. The M-Sport package adds the extra character to the car and makes it an overall extremely well balanced car that still delivers practical power.

Effective and Efficient 4dr sleeper hot rod
Car handles great, stops on a dime, gets good gas milage, and the M340i AWD is as fast or faster than many V8 pony cars. Only thing AWD has too skinny and low temp rated tires, BMW should have upped this aspect.

Love this car!!!!
I've had the car for three weeks now, so I did not have the luxury of stepping on the gas to see how quickly it picks up and runs (that is why I gave it 4 stars). However, I like the features of the car which I have been enjoying, I also like the fact that I am six-foot-two, 220lbs, and the car fits me like a glove.
good overall car
the car has lot of technology and has good pick up for a 4 cylinder. the bad parts are no wireless phone charging, very hard suspension where you can feel every bump and the lane assist is to aggressive.

Surprisingly Awesome!
Admittedly, I’m getting into this car after owning a 2013 335i Xdrive for 6 years and I LOVED that car. Stage 1 tune on it as well. I was not expecting this car to be THAT much more of an upgrade, but it is!! Styling, handling, agility, comfort, technology and more is just off the charts in comparison! I even test drive an M550 to compare, and while it was nice, it just didn’t handle or have the agility or performance of this car. Highly recommend!

Absolute waist of time and money
I bought a brand new 2021 330i xDrive on December 30th. Then, on January 16, the car was defected after driving only 150 miles. All of a sudden, the car stopped recognizing the key fob and the engine was not starting. Neither the main key, the spare key, or the access card were able to start the engine. All 4 windows and sunroof opened up themselves and could not be closed. The whole car system got locked up and did not do anything except lock/unlock the doors. The worst of all was the so-called roadside assistance who failed to send a tow truck and left me stranded in a parking lot for 5 hours! Eventually, I had to tow the car myself and send it to the dealership.

Fast, economical and a joy to drive
My first BMW, first PHEV and first truly sporty thrill ride. Since I've only driven Japanese cars I could never do a valid comparison. Two years in and I'm impressed by the way it handles, accelerates and just keeps you engaged in the experience. The combination of ICE and battery engines along with the smooth 8-speed transmission is an absolute delight. I've had no repair problems of any kind thus far. So is it a Toyota or Honda in reliability? Not sure yet. I have owned sedan styles in both of these Japanese brands and they are truly rock solid. But now I enjoy the drive much more. Since I own my own house the plug-in design is another plus. With the high speed charger I installed in my garage I can charge it every day and/or night and have little need to head to the gas station for a month or more. Yes, in electric mode it's super quiet, fast and much more economical than I anticipated especially for a sports sedan. I prefer it to any basic hybrid model No, it's not a cheap roadster. You have to have the funds to buy and enjoy it. But I have absolutely no regrets having made the 330e x-drive sedan a part of my life. Solid engineering, fast acceleration, engaging to look at and truly economical for daily driving. Oh, and it's an iconic 3- series BMW. You know the tag line. Highly recommended.
Great but need to improve the electric side
It looks great, feels great, and handles like a dream even on these crappy California roads. But when I compare the charging against my former Honda Clarity, I can easily say that German engineering is not keeping up with the Japanese. No pressure on the boys in Munich, but . . .
