Used 1998 Audi Cabriolet Consumer Reviews
Cabiolet 98
This vehicle has extensive problems with the electrical system throughout its warranty period. The dealership was consistently unable to difinitively diagnose the problem. Since warranty expired (about 1 1/2 years ago)there has only been one episode... so perhaps they finally did fix the source of the ongoing problems. Maintenance is expensive on this vehicle as should be expected and it is not easy to find a qualified mechanic outside the dealership, especially one that can accomodate my personal needs for convenience.
Best Euro-Cabrio
This car rocks! I wanted to buy a BMW but my budget "Fortunately" did not allow it. The Exterior design is more eye pleasing than the BMW (same year). It is German and all that good solid feel driving that car HARD. It is a bit subtle in its engine power and is not as aggressive as a hard-core driver would like to experience it, but still beats most in traffic and serpentines. Use "Sport" mode in automatc transmission shifting (great advantage)./
Timeless Car
This car is now 6 years old, and still draws attention when it's parked with the top down. The design is absolutely timeless: it looks like it was carved out of a single block of steel. The 2.8 engine (Audi's pre-5 valves per cylinder model) with 170 horses will not rocket this heavy car off the line, but that's not the point of the Cabriolet. It's a classic cruiser, and it fills that role beautifully. I will keep it 20 years.
Sweet Convertible Cruiser
Bought this one owner Audi Cabriolet 2 years ago, drive it only in the summer (top has never been up ). A real head turner, and always draws comments when parked. V6 not powerful, no electric seats, no tilt steering, but fun as all hell to drive, no problems to date.
FunDriver
I have no complaints whatsoever. It's fun to drive, maneuvers well and is a great car overall. Anyone who drives it should be impressed.
