Quality control needs improvement
Replaced a 99.5 2.8 fwd a4 with the 2002 3.0 quattro. In all respects, from an engineering and driving standpoint, a better, more fun to drive car. But at delivery, and in the first few weeks, a number of quality control problems appeared, e.g. gritty paint, heated mirrors don't work, quirky climate control, sunroof rattle, defective key fob, faulty back seat latch, etc. Does not seem the car was properly checked before being shipped.
disappointed
The A4 is a nice looking car that doesn't deliver. If you are looking to purchase this car, take the extended warranty and make sure the dealership is close. There are many gremlins that will keep your dash warning lights lit up.

A bit disappointed with 2002 A4
it has been in the shop twice for check engine light issues. It will be going in for a third time for cruise control problems. The car interior makes "wear and tear" noises that should not be evident in a brand new car. I have an '89 Benz that has less squeaks. I'm guessing the sport suspension induced the squeaks, coupled with driving the car in San Francisco's terrible city streets. For a car that weighs as much as a Toyota 4Runner, I find the V6 lacking.
Stick shift 3.0 smokin' ride
I really love this car. The 6 speed makes it a blast to drive and the performance is really good. All wheel drive makes winters fun too. Built nice and strong. Love this car and it loves me.
Totally Unsatisfied
When I purchased this car for 39,000.00 I thought I was buying a reliable car. I quickly learned that this car is anything but reliable. Thus far the blinkers went out, the windshield wiper blades broke, the sterio died, the coolent hoses were leaking the starting coils went out and the entire dash board system failed so the car read 140 mph all the time. Now my check engine light came on last night and the car was in for service 1000 miles ago. I am now looking to trade my car in on a much more reliable car like a Honda Accord.
