Audi A4 needs a lot of repairs
This car is really fun to drive but has needed a LOT of repairs. In a little over 2 years it has needed 6500 worth of repairs. I spoke to the extended warranty company (thank goodness I bought that) and he said they are losing their shirt on Audis. It is still a blast to drive, but beware of repairs.
Audi A4 1.8L quattro
We live in snow country with 200 average inches per year so whatever car we bought had to have all wheel drive. No SUVs allowed--I'm a sports car fan. The choice was between Suburu and Audi and we did not make a mistake. Even though we are 250 miles from our dealer we have made the scheduled service dates and they have treated us well.

This is my fourth Audi. It is not as dependable as the other three, with small maintenence problems.
Excellent Car
I love my A4. Got it for $11,000 a year ago. Just throw a APR chip in it and it's a blast to drive. Now it's got 200 Hp / 240 lb feet of torque & still gets 30 MPG. Excellent used car to buy. Be sure to do the timing belt before 75K & let the car run for a minute or two to cool the turbo before turning it off. These cars hold up great, still nice and tight with 80K on the odometer. Just change the oil, spend a little extra for mobil 1.
Pain in the you know what
Bought it in 03. The thing is expensive to repair 1200 for a timing belt??? Also the control arm on mine is going or gone along w/ the tie rod ends and I've heard that it is a problem on the 98's but audi has not officially made it a recall on all 98s...thats another 2k down the drain. The car is very good in the performance area but could use a hp boost seeing how a chipped 1.8T would already out do it in hp.
