New Audi owner
Alright, its German engineering, but I'm used to Japanese. I have 185,000 miles on my Quattro and, it still rocks! I just bought it, but so far, I love it. Watch out for power steering leaks and the like. I am lucky enough to work for a store so the repairs will be mild, but I would dread repairing anything if I didn't have a lot of cash or a connection or even the ability to work on my own vehicle. I think, even with the expensive repairs, that the car is well worth it! Laughing at the snow and living in the mountains... Heated seats, elagant styling, sun roof...needs some new speakers... but still, for the price, I will gladly see this car past 300,000 miles.
Great Car
I was upgrading from a 114 hp car, and let me say that this 5 speed, 172 hp machine is incredible. My father owns a 2000 Mercedes C280 which isn't nearly as much fun to drive. Inside it's quite and it handles like a Porsche. It's a beautiful car.
Still blitzing over 200,000mi!
Purchased in '06 with 180,000 mi on original clutch and engine. Still running strong, now over 200,000. Replaced leaky water pump and overflow, that's about it. Zippy 5-speed sticks to the road in any condition. Burns tire tread pretty quick, and rubber is expensive on this car. Interior looks like it could be on current model year vehicle; climate control, heated seats, contemporary styling. Sporadic electrical trouble with fog lamps, reverse lights, dash lights. Fun car.
German Twins!!
My uncle has owned a 1993 Audi 90s for about three years, and when I was looking for a car, he didn't want to sell it to me. One school night, he literally chased down an Audi 90s with a FOR SALE sign that looked exactly like his at 80 mph and I bought it. In about three months, I have gone through a lot with this car. It is a reliable and a solid piece of German engineering.
Fun to drive
Bought car in Oct 96 with 50k. Inherited it with what I found out to be the common head (92 & 93 6 cyl) and front end problems. Cost $1400 in 97 to repair. 4th catalytic converter on left side and 2nd on right which I have found out is also a common problem. Audi would/will not do anything about it. Gave up on cruise.
