2004 TL Manual - 6 month review

For 2004 TL owners and potential 2005 TL owners, I encourage purchasing the Manual TL if comparing to Infinity or Lexus. I have been extremely pleased for 6 months of ownership. Handling is great with the Bridgestone tires I have switched to. Power is wonderful and is as exciting as my other car, a V-8. A few interior noises have been corrected. The local dealer, Harper Acura, is outstanding for service. The only 2 improvements will be to add 1-2 cubic feet of trunk space or one folding rear seat, and add the SH-AWD system from RL to the 2006 TL. If Acura does that, I will be purchasing a second TL for my wife.

I was fortunate to be able to purchase my TL thru my sister which works at Honda Corporate so I got a good deal. The car has plenty of power but does not have a plush ride like the Accord due to the sporty suspension and the low profile tires mounted on 17" rims. The seats are wonderful as is the seating position given that I weigh 235 lbs and stand at 6' tall. The leg room in the back is not as good as the Accord and was pretty tight with my 6'3" sitting in the back. I can't wait to cruise to Vegas! If you're debating between an Accord or the TL, the Accord will appeal to your logical side but the TL will definitely please your senses.

Great Car!

I used to own a 99 TL and it was a good car. Decent performance, lots of amenities, excellent navi. Interior quality was sub-par, styling was bland. I then moved to a 00 328i. Great performance, good looks, almost no amenities, tiny cabin. This new TL combines the best qualities of both cars and adds a panache all its own. Great performance, gorgeous to look at, both inside & out. Interior quality is excellent. The voice control has been integrated extermely well with the navi (you can say 'find nearest ATM', and the car takes you there). The only problem is lack of torque at low speed.

I went from a 325 bmw to the TL. Its been the best decision I have made in a vehicle in 15 years. This TL is quick off a stop light. Very quiet. Sound system is the best on the market.

My Best Acura

This is my fourth Acura. Prior to my 2004 TL experience the best car I'd owned was my '93 Legend. I then drove two RL's which were well built but under powered! This TL has it all! It is comparable in quality and performance to high-end German sports sedans, and frankly exceeds some of them which cost upwards of $15K more. It is tightly built, extra responsive, and has terrific eye appeal. Acura has always rewarded owners with a lot of car for the money, however, this TL with its' big basket of technology is far and away the winner in this catagory. And the 2005 RL appears to be taking us to an even higher level.
