Type S? More like Broken Type.
We got our 2022 MDX Type S in April 2nd of 2022. We fell in love with the features and handling of the vehicle. The air ride made the car feel great. Our dealership experience was very good and enjoyable. On May 11th 2022 while traveling at 21 miles an hour the front left strut blew at 888 miles on the odometer. Our vehicle instantly dropped the front left corner of the vehicle and all of the warning lights went off. We were just a block away from our home so we took it home. The next day we had the car towed to the local Acura dealership and had it examined. They told me the issue was not engineeringly possible. So the part was backordered but we put in a high priority order. After a few weeks I reached out to Honda of America to see if I could get some corporate power behind the process. After 2 more weeks, 27 days out of service, the part finally arrived. Turns out Honda of America sent the incorrect part. The dealership ordered 2 more and both were wrong. At this point our vehicle has been in the shop for 32 days and not fix insight. What has Honda done to assist us with this issue? Nothing. No offer for my time. No offer to replace my vehicle. Just a lot of apologies while my 75k vehicle is in the shop not being driven. At this point it would take a lot for Honda to redeem themselves in my eyes. At this point I would never own another Honda product.

MDX Type S Advanced - Handles like a Dream
Have only had the car a few days not but I lack the adjectives to describe this car. All I can say is it is fantastic. We had our first road trip, in Comfort mode I am getting 24 mpg highway which was surprisingly good, considering I was covering a lot of distance with some traffic on the way. One con for me for now is that the Acura Link app (available to all Acuras) is slow and poorly designed. The console entertainment system screen which many people dislike actually works pretty well. I personally prefer this. If I were to try to reach out and use it as a touch screen it will certainly make driving more dangerous. The split screen option also makes sense switching between maps and music is seamless.

Great upgrade for a JDM Enthusiast
I love cars! Have had over 26 cars for the past 25 years. I had a 2017 MDX Advance before pulling the trigger on a 2022 MDX Type S Advance. WOW, what an upgrade. We looked at the GV80 and XC90 as possibilities and fell in love with this top end Acura that comes with everything you need. The increased power is not like my previous TT 6speed Supra but for a family hauler in the Rocky Mountains this thing will get you there in Comfort and ease or in a flash with your heart racing. I love choosing between Sport Plus for the twisty roads and Comfort driving through city traffic. I actually like the touch pad, that screen is too far forward to comfortably use as a touch screen, unlike my Land Cruiser which has it far forward. For 73K when looking at comparable autos this was the one for us... Oh yeah, and it is a Honda so will hold it value over time. UPDATE: We have had this car now for 2.5 years and have put about 32k miles on it. This is still one of our favorite cars to ever own. It is a great balance of comfort and speed. Nothing new has come out that has compelled us to make a change. Still very happy!

WATER LEAKAGE
Had this car for over a year now and I have already had 2 major issues. First, the driver-side door was not aligned properly and kept making a noise when I opened it. Went to get it checked out many times and every time they would not do anything about it and finally fixed it after a year. Now there is water and moisture in the interior, on the carpet, doors and even the trunk. Went to get it checked and was said it would take a week to diagnose the car and then who knows how long it will actually take to fix the problem depending on the parts availability. While the car is in the shop, Acura is unable to provide me with a car or even reimbursement for my work travel.

WOW
What a fun car to drive. Incredible to go from comfort mode to sport plus and see the turbo putting out 16lbs of boost and all the driving senses wake up. Absolutely love getting in this car every time infotainment, glossy interior finish and interior vent gripes are petty. This car likes to be pushed.
