2024 Land Rover Defender Consumer Reviews
Dead on the 3rd day- LR took care of me
Bought a new 2021 Defender X. Pretty awesome until the morning of day 3 with ~500 miles on the odometer, all safety systems failed along with a gearbox failure at 80 mph on the interstate. It barely allowed me to get to safety. The out of town dealer repaired and gave it back only to have it fail again the next morning. Of course this is in the middle of important meetings as well. It remains at the out of town dealer now 8.5 days of the first 11 I have owned it. The dealer who sold it wont talk with me and customer care scheduled a call in two weeks. I have remained surprisingly calm in the face of all this, but as an engineer and technology developer I am a bit embarrassed I bought the car knowing Land Rover's reputation for reliability. I never thought I would be so disappointed with a $91,000 new car. Update.... The 2021 Defender was pronounced dead after 100 days and an incredible effort to repair it. Land Rover customer care worked hard to find and deliver a new 2022 Defender. Its exactly what I was hoping for, refined and rugged. The lemon experience has left me cautious but it is an awesome vehicle and excellent support. I kept my Rubicon just in case.

2022 WOW!!
I purchased a 2022 Defender six months ago. 3.0L 6 mild hybrid. The 11.4in touchscreen is VERY user friendly and easy to navigate. The recent over the air update has apple car play wireless with the system, Heads up display is pretty clear. I have no issues mechanically-the SUV is quiet and solidly built and has plenty of power. The angle of the windshield may cause chips in the windshield from rocks in the road. I did change a windshield as a couple of cracks occurred. I did not seem to have this with other vehicles I own--could be engineering of this vehicle. I am very pleased with the purchase. The fuji white exterior with black roof and black graphics is stunning. This vehicle turns heads. I get lots of compliments reading the vehicle. I've had this vehicle for about 1 1/2 years and 20k miles. Mechanically the 2022 has been flawless. It is a pleasure to drive and this vehicle still turns heads.

12,000 miles with no problems
Have had the car for just over a year and put almost 12,000 miles on it. No major problems to speak of. I did get a windshield crack from a rock and occasionally the audio system is slow to start up when I turn the car on, but those issues are rare and have also happened on my wife's X7 and on my Tahoe. The Defender is my favorite car I've ever owned. Comfortable, cool, great for the family, and great to load up and take to the mountains. I'd absolutely buy this car again!

Completely Satisfied
Just over 19,000 miles and a year on my 2023 Land Rover Defender S P300, and I've had just two minor issues. Apple CarPlay very rarely doesn't behave and if I toggle the WiFi off/on on my phone the issue is resolved. When Start/Stop activates, it will very rarely start back up in Neutral, but I did my research before purchasing a Rover and am pretty unbothered by these minor quirks that show themselves rarely.

Unique SUV
I have had my defender 90 v8 for about a year. An oxygen sensor failed and was replaced (warranty). Overall, the car performs well - nice handling for its weight. The car also feels more fun than other SUVs in my opinion . I can genuinely see how nice it is when I ride in other cars and compare back to my car . It has a quiet ride, but you can also hear the engine . It does have a lot of body lean if you compare it with a performance SUV like a x5 M , so I don’t really push it . I highly recommend a well spec’d defender over a typical luxury SUV.
