Dont buy a Roush F150

2017 Ford F-150 XLT 4dr SuperCrew 4WD 6.5 ft. SB (5.0L 8cyl 6A)
My 2017 Roush f150 has had nothing but trouble. It is back at the dealership now with a possible blown engine. Ford mechanics cant figure out what's up. I am not racing it. Got 68K miles out of my original Mickey Thompson Tires before change out so not spinning tires. Vehicle now has 72K miles on it now and Ford may or may not help me fix it. The truck has a history of multiple … shop visits with the mechanic not being able to diagnose the problems with the computer. I have had to replace the rear end, torque converter and now possibly the engine. Also , I tried to sell this truck a couple months ago before recent issues and ford offered my 33K trade in on an 80K truck. Nothing like loosing 47K in 2.5 years in value and now possibly needing to replace a 10K engine. Dont buy a Roush f150
Excellent truck.

2017 Ford F-150 XLT 4dr SuperCrew 4WD 6.5 ft. SB (5.0L 8cyl 6A)
We test drove a really nice '17 F150 among others before opting to buy a new one. The 2017 we drove had a smooth ride, solid handling, and more horsepower than anyone really needs, which is a delight too. This one had the small dash screen with navigation buttons. It works well, and I like way they have 10 easily accessible radio presets in that design. I'm partial to the touchscreen, … but the "cheaper" option is pretty intuitive and has its advantages. Overall, if you're going to spend the big bucks for a truck, it should be an F150. They're the standard for pickups, and I can see why.
Awesome ride

I went with the 5.0 liter because i love the v8..dont like ecoboost motors and my mechanic friend said after looking at it that i got a great truck and he doesnt like ecoboost engines either..said gearing and engine were great..i have the 3.55 gears..i get 19.2 mpg highway and thats 70 to 80 mph..love how it sounds but gonna put borla atak exhaust on it and do a tune and mabey put drill … slot rotors plus upgrade shocks then wheel tires and raise front to level it..not to much..mostly for looks..

Which F-150 does Edmunds recommend?
Several engines are available for the F-150, but one is a standout. The newly redesigned 3.5-liter V6 and its accompanying 10-speed automatic are an extremely appealing combo, and we'd have a hard time picking a different engine from the F-150 lineup. The Lariat offers a good balance between luxury and everyday pickup usability, so we'd go with that one. It's not much more than the XLT equipped with the 302A package, with which it shares most of its features. And since we're social creatures here at Edmunds, we'd give our friends breathing room that only the cavernous SuperCrew affords.

Driving
4.0The 2017 Ford F-150's venerable 5.0-liter V8 isn't as quick as the 3.5-liter EcoBoost, but it's still got enough thrust to support an attractive tow rating. The basic goodness of the chassis and driving experience stays the same no matter which engine you buy.
Comfort
There's a lot to like about the F-150 Lariat. The front and rear seats both provide appropriate support and all-day comfort, and the cabin environment is quiet and calm. The FX4 off-road package does stiffen the ride somewhat, but never to objectionable levels — and it's an option.
Interior
4.0The F-150 Lariat gets high marks for everyday ease of use and interior quality. Combined with the ratings for comfort, it's simply a pleasant place to spend a full day on the road.
Utility
5.0The F-150 features plenty of anchor points in the bed to secure cargo, and interior storage is generous. The center armrest bin is positively huge, as are the door pockets, and there are clever spots to hold your personal items.
Technology
The Sync 3 infotainment system that comes on midtier and above F-150 models is quick to respond to user inputs and easy to use. Smartphone-friendly amenities such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also on tap to beam popular apps onto the touchscreen.
