Amazing, Dependable, & HIGH miles
I love my 2006 Ford Escape Limited. It has been an amazing car. I currently have 279k miles on it and it is still extremely dependable. I drive it daily on a 76 mile round-trip commute to work, and trust it fully to get me there. I have family that lives 3 hours away and drive it to visit them without worry. I’ve had very few problems with it, with my most “major” repair costing only in the $300 range. It has only had to be towed once when the alternator went out at around 170k miles. People think I am crazy when I say that I plan to drive it up to 300k miles before I get rid of it. As I am approaching the 300k mark, I am now thinking I may keep it longer. If you’d have told me 10 years ago I would consider a a daily commute on a car over 300k miles (or even over 200k), I would have thought you were crazy. But why get rid of such a good, dependable car? When the day comes that I do get another car, I plan to go with a Ford Escape. Update July 2021: So my car has now crossed the 300K mark. Still running well, so I am going to keep driving it. Like my brother-in-law said about it just a few days ago, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”

Purchased new, 16 years of ownership, still great
After buying new and sixteen years of ownership this V6 Escape is still my wife's daily driver, and our family of four has taken it on many multi-day vacation trips. It has been as comfortable and reliable as any Japanese sedan we have owned over the years, including our son's Accord. Having said that we keep the vehicle clean and have closely followed the maintenance schedule in the owner's manual, and use the same mechanic(s) for everything possible. Along the way there have been some "unscheduled maintenance" needs in replacing parts such as a front end linkage bit, a motor mount, etc - but part of the importance of regular maintenance and careful checks is so that items can be caught before they become a big deal. On the downside the V6 does not get great mileage, and we knew that before getting the vehicle. However knowing that it is a Mazda engine we were banking on a long life and obviously so far we are very pleased.

I love my spacetruck
I bought my 2006 Ford Escape in 2012, I did alot of research on it before hand and decided that the 2006 was the year I wanted due to them changing the transmission in the 2008 models. I have driven this SUV coast to coast and hauled a U-Haul Trailer. It's so reliable. It's 2021 now and shes still going strong. I only use full synthetic oil and get oil changes regularly. I live in Canada where it's currently -43 with the windchill and she still starts. We have 3 vehicles and this is the oldest and still the most reliable. Actually the other 2 vehicles aren't drivable at all right now. This SUV with winter tires can climb ice mountains. I run it with decent all seasons, because my winter tires were stolen, and they are still pretty decent. AWD SUV is like mandatory in Canadian winters. Buy this SUV, baby it. Take care of it, and she will take care of you. Best decision I have ever made.

Escape
This is the best vehicle I have ever owned. It has great performance and tremendous space inside. After 15,000 miles I have not had 1 problem that required a return to my dealership. Ford did a great job with this vehicle. I just bought another Escape for my son in college.
