Hunk of Junk

2014 Ford Edge Sport 4dr SUV AWD (3.7L 6cyl 6A)
Purchases my 2014 Ford Edge Sport right from the assembly line (custom order) and had nothing but problems since I drove it off the lot. Constant rattling and squeaks in the dash that no dealership seems they can find. It had a lock mechanism failure on the driver side door (not covered by warranty) so that was an $800 fix. Had an oil leak at 56,000km, and the HVAC unit system failed … where it blew cold air on one side and extremely hot air on the other side. Another $300.00. It is now 6 years old, only 84,451 km and hated every minute of those KM.
Update: Sold this piece of crap back in 2021
Great car for work and travel.

2014 Ford Edge Sport 4dr SUV AWD (3.7L 6cyl 6A)
I bought the car in 2014. It was a demo with 5,000 miles. White AWD Edge Sport. I purchased as a wanted a good SUV that would travel well, handle well, and could handle snow and ice when necessary. I also have two dogs and haul grandkids occasionally. I had the dealer add a tow package when i bought the car. I got tow package for holding a bike rack.
I used in Southern California for … about 4 years. Worked in downtown LA and lived about 45 miles away, so lots of commuting. Car handles well in freeway driving and visibility is great. Used for several road trips in California, but also to Montana, Oregon, Arizona and others.
I moved to Tennessee about 3 years ago. Use car for work. Also have a farm and tow a trailer pretty often. Good towing capacity as i can tow a four seat UTV on the trailer, construction debris and other pretty heavy loads. Car handles ice, snow and mud extremely well. AWD system is much better than i expected. I have had no mechanical problems and now at 115,000 miles. I was thinking about trading in, but had detailed and looks and drives like a new car. i think i will get another 50,000 miles at least.
Only problem is with sunroof. After about 5 years, two of the guide covers fell off, but did not impact operation - just looks when open. About a year ago, sliding roof quit working. I don't use so am not getting repaired. It still pops up for ventilation which i use.
I still like the looks better than the newer versions. Very clean lines without a lot of trip parts. The 22 inch chrome wheels really gives the car a sporty look.
I would highly recommend the car. Has been great for me for a variety of roles.
