First European car after 3 Japanese cars - bought used in 2020 with 90,000 miles. First issue - changing cabin filter requires partial disassembly of the console and pulling back the carpet. Second issue - engine air filter container is soft plastic with self tapping screws. Screw holes were stripped. Had to insert small zip ties in the holes to hold the screws to seal the air filter container. Third issue - this model is one that had the faulty oil piston ring. Burns over a quart of oil every 1,000 miles. All three were design failures. Radio won't turn off (button is stuck) and radio control panel is integrated with phone. Panel part alone is $750.. A/C compressor went out at 95,000 miles. CV joints had to be replaced at 110,000 miles and had to be shipped in from New York (I live in suburban Philadelphia) and parts cost $750 a side. Rear windshield wiper motor went out at 125,000 miles. Needed a new catalytic converter also at 125,000. Last Volvo for me.

Ive owned a lot of vehicles and have had two Mercedes and decided to give Volvo a try since i worked for North America Volvo Tractors in NRV so I bought a 2010 Volvo XC60 T6 Turbo i did buy 2nd handed and I bought it From Tabatha Champ in Charlotte NC so no inspection sticker so bring it to Va had to get inspected bought in January 2019 had to have 2 motor mounts put on antifreeze had to be changed, have to now have oxygen sensor put in front head light need to be replaced has moisture in headlights, and when the temperatures are freezing my doors freeze up and i cant get in it, and the interior is not the greatest value, im very dispointed in my volvo they need to check out these models mine isnt that old i just sold a 99 Mercedes ml 350 nothing wrong with it that had great performance and no broken motor mounts , nothing....

I'm writing this to encourage you to find other options than Volvo. [non-permissible content removed] I feel it necessary to write a review that people will read-in the 2015 section. I owned a 2010 T6 AWD AND paid for the Polestar Upgrade (+30 HP). Fact is, I really liked the seats in the car and driving it was fun, except when it broke! At 55K miles, I paid for a new wheel hub ($650), at 60K miles, a rear stab link broke off ($450), then the doozie-at 65K miles the Rear Differential AND Active On Demand Coupler went bad (over $6500) ! NO THANK YOU!!! I promptly traded my vehicle in for an American Made Chevrolet Traverse and never looked back! Volvo claims to be a Premium Brand-Not Yet, My Friends, Not Yet ! Honestly, you will LOVE this vehicle until it's time to get it fixed. What I lose: Comfy Seats, Acceleration, Smaller Car Handling, Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Indicators What I gain: Keep more of my $$$, On Star is way underrated for safety/security, Way more Cargo/Passenger Space, American Pride, More USB Ports, Better Chevy Customer Service What is Similar: Exact Same Safety Ratings

I'm in the same boat as EX-Volvo (reviewed 6/11/09). I drove my XC60 for two weeks when it broke down, showing a transmission problem. Today makes 8 days since it broke, and I still do not have my car back (nor do I want it back, really). I've been passed from the dealership to corporate and back a handful of times and am still waiting on some resolution. Volvo says that the valve body needs to be replaced and that my car is not the first that has had this same issue. Make sure to ask about this before you purchase.

This is my 4th Volvo and the best yet. Purchased over a year ago and it has performed substantially better than any previous Volvo models I've owned. Volvo's safety reputation is what keeps me coming back and the XC60 is no exception. I constantly get compliments on what a nice looking vehicle it is. Has perfect blend of cargo space, but does not look or feel like a full scale SUV (that's good in my opinion!). Only downside is the gas mileage. I am spending a lot of quality time at gas stations! I would still buy another one in a heartbeat.
