Efficient luxury and performance

2022 Volvo S60 Recharge Plug-In Hybrid T8 Inscription Extended Range 4dr Sedan AWD (2.0L 4cyl Turbo gas/electric plug-in hybrid 8A)

I’ve owned the S60 T8 Inscription Extended Range for 3 months and enjoy driving it. On battery alone I get 40-45 miles of range. The updated electric powertrain supplies decent acceleration and works well above interstate speed limits. One of my only gripes is the slow charging. It takes 5 hours plus to recharge an empty battery pack, even on a level 2 charger. No problem if you charge overnight or at work, but if I wanted a quick recharge at home between trips, no dice. I wish Volvo would update the internal charger amperage.

2023 Volvo S60 Recharge T8 Ultimate Bright 4dr Sedan AWD (2.0L 4cyl Turbo gas/electric plug-in hybrid 8A)

I ordered my 2023 Volvo S60 Recharge on Mar 2022, I received a called when it arrived a year later. I ordered the ultimate bright edition, in bright dusk color with maroon brown interior and the climate package. It was beautiful, my sales manager told me that many customers had already inquired about my car to purchase it, sorry that baby was mine. I had already test driven an ICE S60 prior to ordering this one so I had an idea of how it felt on the road. I have been driving it for over about four months and I absolutely love it. I have not have any issues with the car what so ever. I love all the advance features like the headlights turning as you turn, or the 360 camera that comes on automatically when you park your car, or the signal that alert you when is time to go when the car in front of you move and you are not paying, better that the car behind you honking its horn. The adaptive cruise control is better than other cars that I had, in addition to keep you in at a safe distance from the vehicle in front of you and to stop and go, it also keep you in the lane, as long as you keep one hand on the steering wheel. I also love the Google interface, because I do not have to mess with the dashboard if I need to change a station or adjust the temperature of the A/C, all I have to do is ask Google. It is just so convenient. The range of the battery is great, I am getting the advertised 41 miles. I have not purchase gas in four month that I have owned the car, I have drove it for over 1,000 miles and still have a little over half tank. Most of my driving has been in the city where I live, so I use the Pure move (electric) the majority of the time. I installed a charger at my home, so I charge at home overnight. I spent about $1,400 on the charger and labor, but received $500 rebate from the utility company. The ride is great, I which I and the choice of the 18 inch wheels instead of the 19, I think that would make the ride softer, but still very nice for a compact car. The seats are comfortable at least in the front, I have not experience the rear seats, I haven't carried any passengers. The trunk size is plenty for me, normally It is just myself travelling. This vehicle for just one person or for a couple is perfect and I highly recommended if you are considering an electric vehicle, but do not want to fully commit to electric. **Update*** I have had my car now for two years, and not a single hiccup, I still love this car, everything still works as it should, the fuel economy is superb, the comfort of the interior cabin is excellent, the quality of the materials use is so good, that is shows no signs of wear and tear, still looks and smells like new. I still get compliments for its classy and beautiful design. This is an excellent car, it met all my expectations so far.

Getting on the EV Train with Volvo

Stan Washington, 03/23/2023
2023 Volvo S60 Recharge T8 Plus Dark 4dr Sedan AWD (2.0L 4cyl Turbo gas/electric plug-in hybrid 8A)

I have had my S60 Recharge for merely a week so I am getting used to the vehicle. So far, I am super pleased. I wanted something that got me used to EV and not totally reliant on EV. I must say the interior is beautiful though some space has been reduced specifically in the console between front seats, The charging thing takes a little remembering to plug in. The car comes with two adapters for electrical source 120v and 240Volt (dryer config). I wanted a car that would react highly responsively. This car moves with low end torque and continues on through to 60 MPH. 0-60 is listed below 5 seconds and it feels like it. The switch between EV and Gas feels seamless. This S60 has the updated console with Google just. I've just started with it but if it works as advertised it will be better than my S60 2020 user interface. The sales team has contacted me on follow up and has offered any assistance that may come up. So far, very happy

Volvo excellence

2022 Volvo S60 B5 Inscription 4dr Sedan (2.0L 4cyl Turbo gas/electric mild hybrid 8A)

This is our third Volvo S60 and it is a winner in every way. The engineering is superb, the design elegant and unique, and the materials exceptional. It is a gorgeous vehicle inside and out. The interior is thoughtfully put together and the leather seats are unrivaled in comfort and design. In a segment where BMW, Audi, MB, VW, and the Asian sedans are everywhere on the roads, the Volvo stands out, and it is awesome to have a car that does not look like it was mass produced. The B6 powerplant is a definite improvement over the T5. The engine revs up more smoothly, and accelleration is even and responsive. Steering is light and sure and the driving aids instill high confidence in all road conditions. This is truly a luxury sedan with performance engineering. I cannot understand why this is not the most highly-rated and most sought after sedan in the segment. I have owned BMW, Mercedes, Infiniti, and several Saabs (still can't forgive GM for killing off Saab) and this Volvo is hands down the best of all the elements the other cars offer. The only thing that could be better is if Volvo offered the S60 in a fully loaded trim with a manual transmission. Another selling point for us is that the S60 was manufactured in South Carolina, so even though it is "foreign sourced" automobile, American workers put it together and earn a decent living doing so. And if you live anywhere near Tampa, Florida, take your business to Volvo of Tampa. A family-owned dealership with incredible staff.

Great Value Sedan

2021 Volvo S60 T8 Polestar Engineered 4dr Sedan AWD (2.0L 4cyl Twincharger gas/electric plug-in hybrid 8A)

I decided to right this review to help other. I always read the reviews and decided to write one. I just got my 2021 S60 T-8 Hybrid in Pebble Grey with black interior. There are only two things that I can find fault with the car. The first is that there is no ventilated seat option. The second is that I hate the FOB. The FOB is big and the buttons are on the side instead of the front like most manufacturer's FOBs. However, I knew this because I just got my wife a 2021 XC-40 T5 R-Design a few weeks ago. The car is one of the best value sedans if not the best value out there. Compared to an Audi A6, the Volvo S 60 T-8 is very similar and in some ways superior (have had many Audis). If you drive both cars to the limits, the Audi A6 would be slightly better. However, how many time do Audi A6 owners drive their cars to the limit? The T-8 is faster than the Audi and it has much more comfortable seats. In the interior department, both cars are equal. In the looks department (very subjective), both cars are great looking. In the technology department, the T-8 is superior to the Audi. While the Volvo's large touch screen infotainment can be distracting to operate while driving, there is minimal interaction needed once you do the car's initial setup to your preferences. My T-8 has the Bowers & Wilkins option, which provides a better sound experience to Audi's Bang & Olufsen system (which is also a very nice audio system). Granted it is a $3,200 option over the base Harman Kardon (which is also a great system). The car I wanted had the upgraded Bowers & Wilkins option and it did not amount to too much of a difference in the monthly payment (at least not for me). Would I pay the full $3,200 for the option if I was buying the car? No, the base Harman Kardon is a nice system. These days, I do not put many miles (less than 5K per year) in my cars and that is why I decided not to keep making high monthly payments in Porsches. In addition, I wanted to try a hybrid. I can do all my daily driving on the T-8's 25 mile full electric limit and there are free plugins where I live. The car handles great and it is very practical. One more thing, don't be fooled by the Volvo name. The T-8 is very quick 0-60 when driven in the Polestar mode (an option worth the $1,200 price and can be dealer installed since it is a software upgrade). Great sleeper car to beat Audis, Mercedes and BMWs. I hope this helps your buying or leasing decision.
