VW Toureg - all it's cracked up to be?
Overall, this is a nice vehicle. However, with all the hyp, I don't think it lived up to expectations. I was torn between this and an FX45 and decided to go with the VW. I think I made the wrong choice. That being said, this still is a nice car to drive.

Buyers BEWARE!
Reliability of this car STINKS!Mine completely broke down after 2 weeks ownership.A friend had complete electrical failure after 1 month. They do not have the quality testing measures and facilities to make this car reliable! VW customer service is HORRENDOUS.The car has been stuck at an LA dealership for 2 weeks now!Not 1 customer service representative has contacted me after I have made 10 calls.Calls to headquarters, the dealership, etc have all been ignored.Trust me, pay a little more for a BMW 4.4. This car is not proven and will be plagued with unreliability and poor customer service- 2 traits you don't want together!
Road Beast
Here's the story, this rig is not really about refined elegance, so if that's what you're looking for try a Lexus RX. It makes a lot of noise under throttle. Mine has a big V8 (the only one worth getting since the v6 is a DOG), and you can hear it all the time. Its fast, and pretty, but not totally nimble and quiet. Solid too, without loosing all road feedback.
Bad News!
Spent over 20 days in the shop first 2 mos. DON'T BUY THIS SUV. Here's a list: Broken A.C.;broken stereo; door handles stick open;inside cargo hatch handle broke apart;clock above windshield malfunction;cruise control suddenly shuts off when towing; remote keychain adjusted 3times; loud noise coming from AC vent; MOST OF ALL the V8 has an "inherent" shaking problem they can't fix. You actually shake when sitting in the thing parked with the engine running. Absolutely unacceptable $46,000. VW already paid one of my car payments for the inconvenience. It's going back in the shop again for a squeaky steering wheel. Can you say class action lawsuit?
