Used 2004 Volkswagen Touareg Consumer Reviews
perfect for anything
i 've compared this car to MDX, X5, RX 330, GX 470, FX 45 and XC 90. There was one single category where vw was underperforming . As you expected it is 14-18 mpg. In any other aspect Touareg is equal or better than the best of above cars. i,m thankful to folks from vw for eliminatig 99% of reasons not to have an suv
dissappointed
Not yet set up to service car.Mine was delivered with faulty a/c and still not fixed for sure.Sub par in town handling.sloppy acceleration from stop or low speeds.

excellent value
It's been a (happy) month since I got my Touareg. The initial built quality is excellent. It looks much better (inside and out) than X5 and is a real SUV when compared to FX35. No major complaints so far.
Great SUV!
The Touareg handles exceptionally well - feels very solid and is actually a fun SUV to drive (a close 2nd to the FX35). Although this V6 model/options priced out at $39k (a lot for a VW), the features and build quality make it seem like a bargain.
What a fun vehicle to drive!
This vehicle is practically unbeatable - assuming you have the V8 and air suspension option. The ride is smooth and unbelievably quiet, and the V8 gives you TONS of power to accelerate. And it's a 6 speed automatic so all the power is easily reachable when you hit the pedal. I test drove the Toyota Highlander, Nissan Murano, Buick Rendezvous, Lexus RX300, BMW X5, Mercedes M500, Volvo XC90 T6, Porsche Cayenne S, Range Rover, Cadilac SRX, Acura MDX and Infinty FX45 (as well as a bunch of 30- 50K sedans) and I love the Touareg the most.
