I think that this car is great because of its power and any SUV except for the Porche SUV doesn't compete with it.

My wife and I each buy or lease a new vehicle every three years and after driving; BMW,SAAB,NISSAN,LEXUS,DODGE, FORD,ISUZU and HONDA, this is the best thing we have ever driven. The Design, build, fit, finish and reliability is among the best of any brand we've owned. Rock solid, a pleasure to drive and yes, we also get more comments, questions and compliments on the Touareg than on anything else we have owned because VW Managed to build something special in a world of boxes and "Me too" SUV's.

Purchased a Toureg approximately 1 month ago and love it. No problems to date after 600 miles and continue to enjoy every minute in it. Pros: Interior Fantastic Love the exterior Perfect size Love that German Engineering - feels so solid Cons: Nav System a disappointment

I purchased my V8 Touareg on Columbus Day, and it has been back to the dealer 3 times in 830 miles. All the problems (several of them) relate to the onboard computer systems (check engine light, running gear, gear selector, tire monitoring system, ESP, limp home gear).

Engine, Electrical & Tire Problems

AVOID ALL TOUAREG VEHICLES. Read the internet on how rotten VW support is. My T is driven gently by my wife. We go through a set of tires every year or so, have had many electrical problems including completely replacing the wiring harness. At 43,000 the engine simply froze. A couple months out of warranty for months owned but within the period for mileage. VW is giving us grief about replacing the engine. I guess they think that it is ok for an engine to blow at 40K. Dealers seem great but you have to deal with VW of America. They are simply terrible. I would look at the internet for VW problems and VWA support before buying ANY VW product. Sorry...I have owned 4 VW's but no more.
