Several problems

I have been driving my 2018 VW Tiguan SL for a year now and it has several problems. 1. While driving into my garage today the engine turned off, it gave me a notification to turn the engine on manually, I pressed the button, forgot it was on “drive” told me to first put it on park, which I did then I pressed the button and it turned in. This happens once in a while. 2- problem is while the passenger front seat is empty, when the car is running, I place my cell phone on the seat and the seat belt indicator lights up and beeps, when I remove the phone, the beeping stops and the indicator disappears, if I place my phone again, it shows again. 3- The radio volume increases by itself. 4. The rearview mirror sometimes does not work. Has anyone experienced these problems?

2018 VW Tiguan one year review

I have owned my 2018 Tuguan for one year now, have driven 2700 miles. I have had one problem, the driver seat memory buttons have stopped working. Have not taken it to dealer yet. I am 86 and the Tiguan has sufficient power for me. I have only driven in the Houston city area, no highway trips. I picked it because it is small enough to fit in my limited parking at my Daughter's condo. It also has a power lift gate and room for hauling my walker. It drives very well and the 8 speed automatic does a good job. I think I know something about handling having done SCCA club racing and autocrossing in many sport cars. I haven't owned a VW in many years, and owned a Mini Countryman and a Kia Soul before the Tiguan. I would recommended it for my use.

Useless 3rd row seats

My wife & I recently leased a 2018 Tiguan, BIG MISTAKE! The car has a 3rd row that becomes useless once you install a child seat in the 2nd row! Whoever is sitting in the 3rd seat has to squeeze very tight to get in. Imagine there is an accident & your child needs to free themselves from the 3rd row! My wife calls the 3rd row on the Tiguan" Cage of death " . It's a design flaw that I'm stunned VW would so ignore while designing this car We are now stuck with a car that can only seat 2 of our 3 kids!! 3rd child is too young to sit in the front, small area to sit in the middle & the 3rd row is almost not accessible!

Had the most seamless experience using Edmunds then shopping my preferences to multiple dealers. Pacific VW met my needs perfectly and had me in and out of the showroom in 2 hours. It was awesome
