Close to Perfect

A little noisy and slow when accelerating at highway speeds but around town perfect! Fit, finish and handling all feel good. Love the warranty, very close to buying one, would not be shopping around if the Tiguan had a larger engine option.

My Habanero Orange Tiguan

I have only had the car five weeks and not put on much mileage so many of the review items I cannot comment on right now. The car looks great and handles very well. Average to low on road noise - too quiet and I would not have a feel of the road. I have not learned yet how to utilize all the electronics and cannot offer info on fuel mileage after only one tank refill. It had an engine gliche right away which was quickly taken care of by the dealership and now runs very well. It is just the right size SUV so I do not have to "climb" in to it - kind of just step in which is great since I am not very tall 5'5". Easy to get out of the car. I am coming from a VW Golf so size is a bit of an adjustment when it comes to driving and maneuvering. Wish I did not have to bend my head at all to get in but its just a bit so we will let that slide since the alternative would be a boxier look which I did not want. The lines of this car are great. So many positions for the driver seat makes it possible to get it just right. Very spacious cargo area because I do not use the third row of seats at all and keep them folded down all the time. Overall I like the car very much, am a Volkswagen fan and would recommend the Tiguan. LOVE THAT ORANGE COLOR. Can give a better review of things in six months to a year.

Terrible SUV!

I have a 2018 Tiguan that I bought brand new. It has been full of problems since the beginning. There is a constant noise from the B side pillar that comes and goes as it pleases. The transmission is extremely jerky. It is so bad the first couple of shifts that I have to apologize to the people in the car with me and tell them that this is not the first time I have driven a vehicle. There are times that the vehicle feels like it wants to stall out when you have to pull out quickly. I have a bunch of stains on my ceiling now that continues to get worse (I am not spilling anything on it). I constantly get errors while driving. Some errors say, "Only exit the vehicle in park" and "You are now in emergency transmission mode". They go away when I restart the vehicle. The list goes on and on. Stay away from the Tiguan!

Vastly underpowered noise machine

This is my first ever VW purchase, and it will absolutely be my last. This thing is so underpowered I hardly feel safe driving it. In situations where you need to get up to speed quickly, it cannot handle the request. I came from a 2012 Mazda 3 and I wish I had that old clunker back honestly. The Tiguan's interior is made of extremely cheap materials. Every bump in the road is made worse by the unflattering creaking and cracking of every single part on the dash. The B pillar has a known issue and rattles non stop as well. It's just a noisy, lousy, poorly made vehicle. Doors are heavy. That's the only perk to it.
